  1. Nashville is lucky in a way.. It's about 3 to 4 hours away from Holiday World, SFOG, Dollywood, Kentucky Kingdom, not to mention Beech Bend is in Bowling Green, which is about an hour or so north of Nashville. Add Lake Winnie 2.5 hours away and Alabama Adventure about 4 hours away. We'll have Guntown Mountain back open this summer too. I'm always a bit surprised though when locals haven't heard of Beech Bend. Everyone I know has heard of Beech Bend, most people tend to think it's nothing more than an oversized carnival.
  2. From what I hear, most people would take a colonoscopy over Apocalypse every day of the week.
  3. I've never understood how one parks pass can be cheaper than the other, especially if they're in the same chain, maybe with the exception of a year around park, or a parking with a longer operating being slightly more. However, Fiesta Texas is open more operating days than Great America, so there goes that theory.
  4. I rode Green Latern 100s of time when it was Chang at KK.. It's sad to hear it's gotten so bad.

  6. Definitely Goliath. Goliath is fun from start to finish, and the 3 awesome bunny hills at the end really push it over for me. Intimidator is a very fun ride but the fun really ends at the MCBR. I do like the airtime on Intimidator's larger hills though. Having said that, Fury 325 is on another level entirely. Several people have commented that it doesn't even feel like a B&M coaster they're right in some respects. It is MUCH more aggressive than any other B&M speed coaster and definitely more fun. The layout is absolutely brilliant. Most of the time you get off of a coaster and think "I'd change X, Y and Z" but there really are no discernable weaknesses with Fury 325. Bizarro is the only hyper that can come close to delivering the same ride experience but the current restraints completely suck, so until that changes Fury 325 is my #1. I haven't gotten to ride Fury yet.. But I totally agree with Goliath being better, I was disappointed by Intmitador in 2011 and 2012, maybe when I get to go back it'll be better
  7. Of the B&M hypers which did you prefer?? Goliath or Intimidator??
  8. You were right! That's some wicked foresight. I've sacrificed daily Starbucks, non-packed lunches, beef jerky, and just about every other unnecessary expense so I can take my vacation trip to 4 parks this summer and that's if I escape some sort of misfortune between now and July. I know the value of saving better than many and I find it both laughable and insulting that some think its so easy to get ahead. It is easier for some people to save money than others, I save at least $100 out of every paycheck, so if that means no eating out for a week or two, and only spending money IF I have to, then I get to reap the benefits of that, does that make me a bad person??
  9. If you can barley afford to go to a park then you probably shouldn't be going in the first place.. I love theme parks as much as the next guy, but they're definitely a want and not a need in life.
  10. They're getting priority boarding after paying for it, it would be completely different if they were getting to skip the line for free, it sucks having to wait, but it is what is. Yes, I get that people have paid for the perk they are getting, and I don't really blame those for doing so if they are able. It makes sense. I just hate the system in the first place, hate that its become another place where society gets stratified when it used to not be that way, and I can't claim that I would be all that gracious to people being paraded in front of me who are having both a better day than me even after I spent a good amount of money. Paying a lot of money for a better experience is a choice that some make, but keep in mind that for many waiting in line, it's not like they made a "choice" to have a worse experience, paying that much is simply not an option so there is no choice involved. I'm going to admit when I'm at a park and I don't have the extra money for fast lane or fast pass, I do get annoyed or maybe the more proper word is jealous, but at the same time, I just shake it off, because I'm not going to let something like that ruin my day, which I feel some people do.. I mean some people can't even afford to get into parks, so just by being there I consider myself fortunate.

  13. I've never understood this as well, they act as if the park picked you specially to have them, I had the same experience with my sister last year at SFGAm, After dropping almost $220 on a platinum flash pass, I got fed up at one point with the rude and snide remarks and I said back to them, that if they wanted to pay me $220, and trade they were more than welcome to, otherwise shut up and enjoy your hour wait. Way to show those poor people! Who are they to expect an enjoyable park experience when there are people in the park with more money? I'm far from rich, but I knew I only had two days to enjoy myself, so I splurged.. I went to Magic Mountain on a Saturday, I had no other choice, and couldn't afford a flash pass so I sucked it up and waited in line, I didn't take it out on the people who could afford a flash pass, just because I couldn't.

  15. So, I might be making a Dallas/ San Antonio trip this summer [ either that or a Busch Gardens, Kings Dominion trip] I know San Antonio is scorching hot in the summer.. I'm not a big water park person, However I love water rides, are the ones at Fiesta Texas a good relief in the summer?? I hate nothing more, than water rides that don't do their jobs.

  17. Now that it's all coming together with the theming and such, the complaints have seem to die down a lot.

  19. You know we're talking about this Viper (TOGO)... ...and not this one (Arrow), right? For some reason I thought I was on The Magic Mountain thread.. Their goes my dumb moment of the day.

  21. I never tried Scream Machine or Shockwave, so I can't compare them to Viper. But compared to some of the other arrow loopers I've been on ( Carolina Cyclone, TN Tornado, Demon, Walbash Cannonball) I can say it was the smoothest and most enjoyable ride outside of TN Tornado.. Not to mention that when I went Viper had a full station that mornig but by the afternoon was a station wait or less, so I really got to enjoy it in all different seats and everything.
  22. Six Flags actually has a cup that is refillable for free all year long, it's green and it costs like $5 more to purchase it, but you save a lot more than that $5 with free refills all season long, and I'm assuming it's good from park to park as well. In all my visits to several six flags parks, I have never seen a refillable cup for only $5. It's more like $12.99. Look at this menu picture and you can see it here(look at the funnel cake menu to see prices)... https://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view;_ylt=A0LEViUG8CVVv6gAa14nnIlQ;_ylu=X3oDMTB0b2ZrZmU3BHNlYwNzYwRjb2xvA2JmMQR2dGlkA1lIUzAwMl8x?p=six+flags+food+menu+prices&back=https%3A%2F%2Fsearch.yahoo.com%2Fyhs%2Fsearch%3Fp%3Dsix%2Bflags%2Bfood%2Bmenu%2Bprices%26ei%3DUTF-8%26hsimp%3Dyhs-002%26hspart%3Dmozilla&w=640&h=480&imgurl=www.BLOCKEDSITE.com%2Fwordpress%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2013%2F02%2FSix_Flags_Season_Dining_Pass_7.jpg&size=45KB&name=Six_Flags_Season_Dining_Pass_7.jpg&rcurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.BLOCKEDSITE.com%2Findex.php%2F2013%2F02%2F05%2Fsix-flags-season-dining-pass-overview%2F&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.BLOCKEDSITE.com%2Findex.php%2F2013%2F02%2F05%2Fsix-flags-season-dining-pass-overview%2F&type=&no=1&tt=117&oid=5293f15be89bf8156eda8b789899e921&tit=Six+Flags+Season+Dining+Pass+Overview&sigr=12ov7j98q&sigi=12tp03t14&sign=1128a57bb&sigt=103g3v28q&sigb=1369625lj&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-002 It's new this year.. I got one at SFOG they're $19.99 and they're a different color from your regular souvenir bottles, this way no more wrist bands etc.. Also, the $5 I mentioned wasn't the price of the bottle itself, it was the difference between a regular sports bottle and the all season sports bottle, sorry for the confusion I may have caused.
  23. As much as enthusiasts hate Boomerangs, they're popular with the general public, and I can see why they do look neat in action.

  25. Sadly I never got to ride the one at SFOG.. I did get to ride the one at Magic Mountain though, it's a hell of a ride that's for sure, I'm sad to hear that the new reatraints on the old one from Magic Mountain are making the ride rougher up at SFNE. Same here except I have never got to ride one anywhere The two times I was at six flags over GA when they had it, it was always down.. I didn't go much back then, only when my parents took me but still, it was always down haha I got lucky at Magic Mountain they had just opened it up for the day when I was nearby, and it was a Saturday so as soon as I got off it looked like it was already an hour wait forming.
