  1. So 5 acres, 8 new attractions and water play areas...That sounds to me basically like confirmation of a new Kid/family friendly area in 2019. Kids are probably the only group who will be able to make the hike all the way up there anyway lol. It's definitely a solid addition. I do wonder if there will be any kind of second entrance into the park up there or that could be where DreamMore guests enter.
  2. I've been waiting for RMC Mean Streak for at least 5 years. I would gladly wait in whatever the hell line there was for it on its opening day if I was there and it was open. What else could be more important on that day for a frequent visitor, really? Source: Waited 5 hours for the Gringott's Rollercoaster in Diagon Alley opening day, and 2.5 hours for Cobra's Curse opening week of that one. Bring a tablet and friends.
  3. The rule as I read it online was you could enter at 6, the Front gate persons let us in about 10 minutes early for that as well. We def. didn't have any issues.
  4. I used that special as recently as December, it really helped me get some extra Lightning Rod and other coaster rides on night one as the park hours were so short. No way we could have seen everything we did when the park is only open 7 hours and you're also trying to do shows. Hopefully with that offer being taken away they can at least do like, Noon to 9. or 12:30. We would have liked to do a sit down restaurant at DW but lack of time again since we didn't want to devote 2 full days.
  5. ^^I'm super Curious to see how much attendance switches to Hollywood Studios in 2019, and 2020 when SWL opens. I'm certain it will stay ahead of Universal and overtake Epcot and DAK for second place in the area, and I wonder if it can soar even higher than TDL or up towards Disneyland. With the extreme length of time it's been since Disney updated this park it will also be interesting to see if rides like Rockin' and ToTT still have long waits or if everyone just swamps the 4 big new rides.
  6. That day is part of Spring Break, meaning higher crowd levels, Easter Sunday in particular is one of the absolute busiest days of the year for all parks in FL. Spring for the QQ Unlimited. It will absolutely be useful for Cheetah Hunt, Log Flume, Cobra's Curse, Scorpion and save a lot of time on Congo Rapids. It will probably help with Sheikra, Montu, and Sand Serpent as well.
  7. If I am assuming Steel Vengeance will be my new #1 coaster (which is almost guaranteed once I ride it), then Cedar Point will have my number 1, and number 2 OVERALL. And then they have Maverick, TTD, Valravn, Raptor...this is no contest.
  8. This is so sad. Almost half of the "smaller details" areas of the park that made this my favorite park in FL are gone in the last few years. It's completely regressed from a fantastic multi-day park to... a one day park with less appeal.. And their Food and Wine festival has such an incredible concert line up this year too. Really hate to see SeaWorld parks having such issues.
  9. Just to confirm, have we consensus narrowed this down to Dive Coaster Track (being realistic), or are Wing Coaster/Floorless a possibility? I would think either of the second would be a better fit here. They have two massive, steep and fast B&M already, but both of their loopers are fairly weak, any other park of this size would have something smooth from B&M already that goes upside down 6-8 times. Launching either of those styles would be icing. If it is a dive I personally hope they do go with the "Air Beast" Theming and complete the trio. Inserting my personal preference, I would also hope it offers something substantial that Dive Coasters haven't done before or is a longer experience.
  10. I'd much rather visit this park 10 years ago when Griffon Opened than I would now. It's sad to see the company floundering and I hope they find a way to make it.
  11. I've had this dream myself, but then I realized, why not team up with a theme park (and get front-line access/admission/parking for life for you and your family) and tell them "If you put in 25 million, I'll put in 40" and build the biggest baddest coaster ever made that people get to actually ride. Like an 9000 foot 350 foot tall Launching Intamin Hyper or something.
  12. ^I've heard it from a park employee too. It's been fully removed from at least one train. And I'm on board with that!
  13. For anyone on the fence, that's a fantastic price range for that itinerary in Japan. If I actually had that much money in the bank I would jump on that in a heartbeat. Maybe one day I can apply for 2020 or whenever the new TDL hotness is opening.
  14. ^^^I couldn't believe it that there were no escape rooms already when I visited the shore last year. I distinctly remember along my significant other if he wanted to take out a 25k loan and move to Wildwood to put one in there lol. Glad to see that will be an option for families this summer. They've been so popular in Orlando, I think we are up to at least 15 different facilities offering 3-5 rooms appiece now. Oh and fascination at the retro arcade is absolutely the best thing at Wildwood. I spent like 40 bucks there in one night and don't regret a thing!
  15. Waldameer's Ravine Flyer should def. be added. It's tough because it's probably a lot of work to add everyone's number 50 whatever coaster to the list, but it becomes arbitrary if certain rides are missing but all of Legoland Florida is included (a park with only kiddie/family coasters). I'm sure it will be refined. T Express, Invadr, Conneaut Blue Streak, Ultra Twister Rusutsu Resort, Gravity Max, just some missing off the top of my head.
  16. HELL YES! The best part of this is that with you guy's media credentials we may actually see some good articles and opinions on this subject matter. As in the poll results could be noteworthy influencers to public opinion and a little contrast to the blah Golden Ticket awards. Question, what are your thoughts on the ellocoaster Wood poll that came out just a few weeks ago, solely for wooden coasters. Is this a competitor? Methodology differences?
  17. ^Awesome construction photos aside, the snow in the park for those photos is absolutely beautiful!
  18. They decided to keep the best attraction in the park and at half the cost of what it would take to purchase a ride of similar caliber to replace it? What an amazingly complex decision. Hopefully from now on they will maintain it better and this will influence the chain's future.
  19. As bad as this is for most park guests and how it has a direct negative impact on people who are not exceptionally wealthy, I shudder to think of how future iterations of paid Fastpass will look in 2, 5, or 10 years now that the seal is broken. Sigh. http://www.wftv.com/news/local/walt-disney-world-to-allow-some-resort-guests-to-buy-additional-fastpasses/680857608
  20. Definitely was the ride I was most excited to ride on my first visit in early August...it was closed then. So I've no idea when its actual last day of operation was... But Valhalla made up for it in spades and next year they'll actually be getting a wonderful, re-rideable steel coaster which is exactly what they need in their line-up of mostly rough older coasters. I wish this park the absolute best and this is WAY more understandable than Dragons' removal.
  21. Some of my Favorites, by Category: Universal: Forbidden Journey and Spiderman. One of these is an incredible, immersive, technological masterwork for fans of the movie and books and the other has never been equaled in its category in almost 20 years now. Disney Paris version of Pirates-While I haven't done the Shanghai version, the Animatronics and length of this ride absolutely blew me away this year, and overtook Splash Mountain as my all-time favorite Disney ride. Old School Haunted Mansion at Rehoboth Beach-DE. My favorite of the old Bill Bradley designs, even more so than Knoebels. Disney Knock off Europa Park's Pirate boat ride-Equal in quality to the DL version, this one has a really epic transition scene. Favorite Cheesy Dark ride Monster Mansion-SFOG. Please always and forever keep this ride Six Flags! Most Awesome Non-Major Dark Ride I totally loved Darren Brown's Ghost Ride-Great mix of real action and Virtual Reality. It was my favorite ride at Thorpe Park!
  22. I got to add to my all time favorite coasters this year with a new addition to my Top Ten overall and a new addition to my Steel top ten! I got to visit Blackpool, Alton, Thorpe and Drayton Manor in England this year but only one coaster made this list for me when compared to Florida's excellent collection that I ride often. I tend to value Speed, Height and intensity first and foremost, rather than most of the more "Fun" coasters. 10. Sheikra-I'd give the slight edge to Shiekra over Montu IMO. Montu always seems a little slow to me. 9. Mummy-Universal-While not the most amazing coaster, it's pretty underrated as an overall attraction. 8. HRRR-Universal-Fully underrated. Beautiful at night, music selection ,and some quality airtime. Avoid the Backseat! 7. Mystery Mine-Dollywood-I love Eurofighters/Infinity Coasters. They are like looping wild mice and totally fun 6. The Incredible Hulk-Still a powerful, intense B&M 5. Dueling Dragons- RIP to a unique, butchered all-time coaster legend. Would kill to do Fire and Ice back in 2000. 4. Mako-Without the blah trim this ride could challenge Intamins. The First two drops have ejector air, and then...NERF 3. The Smiler at Alton Towers: Way better than Nemesis, it never stops going upside down. Like 2 coasters in one! 2. Kumba at Busch Gardens, the most intense B&M with the world's best inversion. I swear it only gets better. 1. Lightning Rod! Probably the only coaster I've been on with Zero dead space. Relentless, smooth, amazing fun.
  23. I wouldn't mind at all if both domestic Star Tours attractions got re-themed. They are just simulators and have been operating for 30 years so who hasn't done them at this point. It's probably a more fun ride as Star Tours than most other ideas but Iron Man could work at DL. Thematically it makes no sense to still have Star Tours 3 years from now (though it also doesn't make any sense to have an entire IP land at DL anyway).
  24. My First ride on Lightning Rod two weeks ago, it was actually raining and at night. There were 700 people in the Entire Park and the employees informed me that they had cycled the train 19 times that day in total. I was by myself in the Front Row. The rain hurt like balls at 70MPH and the ride soaked me for the rest of the night, but hot damn if that coaster isn't worth it. It's everything I imagined when they put it out there on August 7th, 2015. I can't believe they built it. To be honest, the next time I go to Dollywood, I'm probably just going to enjoy my time doing other things in the park and ride literally nothing but 1-2 rides on Mystery Mine and at least 8-15 rides on LR. It's so freaking good. Just have to be wary during Smoky Mountain Christmas it WILL close at 40 degrees or under.
  25. Pine Squirrel, with MIckey Mouse knock-off trains. That is fantastic. Thanks for the reports!
