  1. As mentioned, I was at the park this afternoon. It was brutally cold, but that didn't stop the park from running Nitro, nor me from riding it. Also rode Justice League, which seemed to last longer than usual. Whether it was running more slowly, or it just seemed that way, it was nice to be in a heated building. Nice day to close out the 2017 season.
  2. Plan on taking a run down today because: 1) I finally have a day off 2) I am insane. Not sure what to expect, but hopefully they have at least the three indoor rides open. I'll report back later with particulars.
  3. I for one welcome the absurdity of all this, because I plan on being there tomorrow, marathoning Nitro until I'm frost bitten.
  4. I had the opportunity to visit this festival last week. It's absolutely outstanding.
  5. Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. The addition of Seven Dwarfs and Be Our Guest really tied that area together fantastically.
  6. Dorney is a fine park that serves a good purpose; a nice change of pace from Great Adventure, with decent coasters that get no lines. The park gets bonus points from me for having a good Whip, a nice flume and Demon Drop. And there's a Waffle House approximately 10 minutes away. I don't think the park gets "bashed", it's just lacking when compared to other parks in the region.
  7. Unfortunately, I have to go to the park on Saturday to process my 2018 pass. Trying to get there as early as I possibly can and don't plan on riding anything but I'm still expecting the absolute worst. Kicking myself for not reading the fine print during the flash sale. I certainly would have sacrificed the extra money for season parking if it meant not having to deal with Fright Fest crowds.
  8. I didn't go to the San Gennaro Feast, but I did accompany Justin to Six Flags New England. I was pleasantly surprised with their ride operations Saturday night. The park was certainly crowded but no wait exceeded 30 minutes due to the crews pumping out trains on every coaster we rode (Wicked Cyclone, Batman, Superman and Joker) As is tradition, we had our meal at JB's. Disappointed with them this time around. It seemed the menu was made smaller, and I could have sworn the meals came with a side of baked beans and cole slaw. I wasn't expecting soggy curly fries. On another note, I was very pleased with their (lack of) Fright Fest. I'm not one for Halloween events, so I enjoyed the fact that their scare actors weren't even trying to scare people. Most were interacting with guests in a friendly manner. I even asked one of the ghouls to point me in the direction of the men's room. All in all, a good night.
  9. I've heard that rumour as well recently; would really be nice if it came to fruition. I have to get back to the park soon as well, for both El Toro runs and to process my 2018 pass.
  10. Heading to the park Saturday for my annual visit. Does your Fright Fest tend to draw the masses like Great Adventure's does? Trying to decide if I need to budget a little extra for a potential flash pass purchase.
  11. Glad I got to ride it this summer but I'm perfectly ok with it's removal. Especially if the rumours end up being true.
  12. Makes sense from a preventing fire standpoint. People are always looking to flout the rules. I rode the skyride this summer and on the ascent, I saw numerous gondolas with people smoking in them. Shame that the actions of the few ruin things for the many.
  13. Oh man, that top 10 steel list is some sort of something...
  14. I actually like Possessed without the holding brake; makes the ride seem more out of control to me.
  15. I wouldn't be surprised. It seems to experience a lot of downtime, and no one is ever riding it so I'd presume it's only a matter of time.
  16. I like the placement of this ride as well. I'm happy to see the former Old Country come back to life.
  17. This. When I went for my maiden visit last month, upon arriving I said to myself "This is the place everyone goes crazy for?" Fast forward a few hours, and I was grinning like a kid in a candy store, trying to think of how I can get back ASAP.
  18. Good for the park adding brand-new, innovative flats to keep the attractions well-rounded. This isn't my personal taste, but I'm on board with anything that will keep people away from El Toro.
  19. The train looks fantastic! Can't wait for this ride and the land that comes with it to open.
  20. Wow. I never visited IoA pre-Potter, so it's pretty incredible seeing pictures to realize how much that ride was bastardized to shoehorn them into Hogsmeade. Shame they're being removed; both sides are kick-ass inverts.
  21. At Great Adventure, I don't ride Green Lantern, Superman, or any spinning flat ride. Basically that's every flat besides Justice League, Zumanjaro and the occasional ride on Safari.
