  1. The more theme parks the merrier but I still can't wrap my head around the fact that some places in America doesn't have them. I'm looking at you Arizona. If it's being built, build it there.
  2. This video is just great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLRLDI6CWgc
  3. This, and Nitros restraints are darn comfy too.
  4. If that Finnish newspaper is right... That is crazy but it would explain so much.
  5. You don't hit a passenger plane at an altitude of 10-11 km with a rocket-launcher. Tragic event non the less... Back on topic: Does the opening of Green Lantern mean that they know for sure what happened in Spain?
  6. Looking forward to this. I have been reading old TPR Trip-reports all day and I can't wait for the 2015 polls to open so I know what trip I will be on next year.
  7. Great. I went to the wrong mall.
  8. I am having my birthday today. I'm drunk as a skunk and about to jump on a bicycle to use a voucher at Gamestop I got as a present. Fingers crossed I don't fall over (and out TPR).
  9. I'm with you on this. It blew me away after just expecting a good ride. I had a great ride (and several of them). You get really nice floater in the back on the first drop. A stark contrast to El Toro that violently tries to get you the **** off the ride in the same spot. I'm with you again. I went "whooooa" at every twist. Not rough but forceful. It was closed during my visit thanks to Zumanjaro not being ready. I'll get that credit in 2015. El Toro is now the #1 Wood for me too (sorry Balder at Liseberg). Now if I can only get my a$$ over to Korea and see how it stacks up against T Express... I was too busy trying to fit in it to experience the surprise drop I guess. I whent "Wheeee!" on it to. Fun ride. Fun, but I really, really hate those 15 minute intros just to get on the ride. This one I missed too. It decided to break down just as I got to the stairs in the station. After 15 minutes I left. After 20 minutes it was running again. I'll get this one in 2015. For me, it was horrible and I felt I just went 12 rounds with one of the Klitschko-brothers getting off it. Great ride, and I realize I'm in minority here, but I preferred it to Batman.
  10. Is this a very busy park in late August?
  11. People in Europe might be a bit more prone to give their rides a lower score?
  12. That has got to be one of the best coaster-videos ever produced. It is just a thing of beauty in 1080p on my bigscreen. I really hope I get to ride this coaster one day. Perhaps one should save up to make a RMC-tour.
  13. I did enjoy green lantern. I know many consider the stand up coaster just a silly gimmick but I do like the concept and how the experience feels. My only problem with GL was a little headbanging but not too bad. I've said it plenty of times but I would like to see B&M building a new one now that they make less intense coasters (which would actually benefit this particular type) and also with the vest "non-headbanging" restraints. "A little headbanging", haha. When I got off GL I had taken such a beating to the head I thought it was the inversions that had made me dizzy. Still, it's not as bad as a Intamin stand up coaster. As for my guilty pleasure I'd say a Zierer Tivoli. If it is a ladybug-theme. It was my first roller coaster as a child and it makes me feel like a kid again.
  14. Sorry for getting things sidetracked there. I have never been to SFMM but plan a visit in April and after what what I have heard from others I see where that last comment comes from. It amazes me that a park wouldn't even put on their best faces for a large group of enthusiasts visiting for some free good publicity. I realize we might not make or break a park (we come anyway to ride it once), but how many people going somewhere on vacation with their family hasn't used Google to find a theme park at the destination and ended up on these boards? If you search for SFMM this is more or less the first you find. Crazy.
  15. I'm going to Arizona in April so that State could do with one. Phoenix area perhaps? Now I have to do like the people there and make my way to California.
  16. Do parks in Europe have such disclaimers? And if you are being sarcastic, are you targeting me? Not that I know of but there really isn't a need for it as you will not become an $ millionaire by spilling coffee on your own lap. Oh, and I see that the end of my last comment might be a bit unclear. It's not complaining about un-neutered rides but the lack of them in the U.S. The hot coffee lawsuit was actually not that frivolous when you look into it. You want frivolous, look up the $67 million pants. It was hotter than it should have been but the store didn't pour it over the person. She did it to herself. I'd say that it is frivolous by most Europeans standards. OMG $67 million pants! That, your theme parks and the 2nd amendment is why I love your country. Can't wait to go back there for thanksgiving. (I actually do love America).
  17. Those sorts of disclaimers typically don't hold up in court. You can't release yourself from liability just by saying you can't be held liable. Have the guests sign a ToS when paying at the entrance then. That would be a legally binding contract.

  19. Parks in the U.S. should just put up a large sign at the entrance reading: "You enter the park and go on the rides at your own risk. [insert park name] is not to be held responsible for any injuries or deaths in the park. The parks safety is up to state regulated standards. Enjoy your stay". That way you might end up with some un-neutered rides that you hear complaining about every now and again.
  20. There is an alleged weight limit of 230lb on Intamins? I haven't been on a scale for a long time but I reckon I'm in that neighborhood. However I'm 6' 3" and nobody would call me fat.
  21. you can find the prices on their homepage... you can choose between just a hotel and to get a room with entree in the park. Just choose a hotel, click on "prices" and scroll down here is an example for the coloseo hotel: http://europapark.de/en/hotels/4-star-superior-hotel-colosseo Thank you so much. Stupid me.
  22. Thank you for the link. You wouldn't happen to know the answer to my question I posted about Europa Park here would you? http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=44765&p=1468892#p1468892
  23. Nice pictures from the museum. Wish it was open during my visit.
  24. Pretty cool if they are. I'm flying to Germany for Europa and Holiday Park (might hit Heide and/or something else too) in late August. I'll check if they are for sale and at what price unless someone here already knows.
  25. Hello fellow members. I'm planning to visit Europa Park late August and was thinking of getting a room at one of the on-site hotels. As i have never stayed in a hotel in a park before I'm wondering if that means I don't have to pay the park entrance-fee. If included a night at the park is really a bargain and I can't find any info about it on their homepage.
