So is this what is to be expected in the park when the new "coaster" opens? I love how the operator goes "I don't take it easy on nobody" and lights up a cigarette 2:50 in to the video. On a serious note: Are they just going to pull on that joystick like the Larsons on fairs or have they implemented an automated system?

Well, the owners of the park has said it will be built. It might just open a little late. -

I think your misreading the height as how big the drops will be. 14.5m will probably be how high it is from the ground at it's highest point. Alton Towers can't really build above the tree-line so they have to use a low height. Look at Oblivion and Nemesis, they have height's of 65ft and 45ft each but their drops are much bigger. I believe when they say pre-show building they mean something before you get on the ride like SFMM apocalypse used to have when it was Terminator Salvation or Rock N Rollercoaster, not part of the ride itself. The pre-show will be more to do with what the park are themeing the ride as, not to do with the manufacturer. A few of the Alton Towers rides do have pre-shows. Weren't the original plans that were submitted for a wooden rollercoaster to use the valley between Forbidden Valley and what was then Ug Land to get around the height limit but feature huge drops? Ah, yes, that was obviously the "before my first cup of morning coffy" me writing. I imagined a flat piece of ground and did not take the terrain into account, nor did I think of a pre-show building like that. -

I haven't seen anything about it in the Swedish media for some time now. -

Are we reading the same article? "The new ride would have a 14.5m maximum height." For you non-metric people that's a "massive" 47 feet. I can see them advertising it as a record-breaker - The worlds smallest RMC hybrid coaster. It also mentions a "pre-show building", so this doesn't ring any RMC bells for me. -

Every ride will be different. Alan Shilke said that the riders can control the spinning by simply moving your arms and legs at IAAPA. They were accually competing on the prototype to see who could make it flip the most. I'm guessing it goes crazy because it's just dummies or empty trains. -

Wait, this thing did 6.5Gs? That's Moonsault Scramble level. Crazy. I imagine turning it down to 5.X made it more re-ridable in one day. -
Oh gawd that testrun is making me drool on this side of the screen. I can't wait to get on Wicked Cyclone in about two months. The things written about Bizarro on the last few pages has me scared though. I'm 6,2 tall and weigh 210. I would be seriously pi**ed not to mention disappointed if I couldn't ride it.

Video (in Swedish) of kids getting to try out Mechanica and what they thought of it. Pros: You get to go really high and spin a lot. Cons: The ride is way to short and the seats are a bit too hard http://www.gp.se/kulturnoje/1.2693274-mechanica-liseberg -

Looks like it will be up and running opening day 25th of April. Liseberg has sent out invites to newspapers to come and try it out on the 23rd. -
Do french fries count? Not the ones you get at McDonalds anyway (they are vegan in Europe but not in the U.S.) so I have my doubts about other fast-food outlets too, unless, they chop up the potatoes in the restaurant. McDonalds french fries isn't even vegetarian in the U.S. http://www.ijreview.com/2015/01/237153-19-ingredients-mcdonalds-uses-make-iconic-french-fry-revealed/

If it could be an electrical storm they close the whole park down more or less. Happened to me last year. I waited an hour in the pouring rain before leaving without hearing thunder or seeing lightning. Asked several workers if they open the rides again and all said no. Second I left the park I see rides running again. Asked if I could re-enter but was denied. Nice after a 12 hour trans-atlantic flight.

http://www.coastercon.com/html/2015_con.html Thank you. I'm guessing that might make the lines a little longer. I think the bigger concern should be that they'll have ERT in the morning and at night and I believe they are there that Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. So some rides may be closed off, unless their ERT is before/after the park opens, which I'm not sure of. All I can read out of that is "Become an ACE member to go with your Club TPR and European Coaster Club memberships, sign up for the event and get some ERT". Well, yeah. Im not an ACEr and not trying to promote for them, I just know its their event as I did look into participating but I just don't have the coin right now. Also, @Swede - check your PMs. EDIT: Looks to me like evening ERT is during normal operating hours. I see now what you mean with the coin btw. I thought it was a one day deal at the park. June 21st to 23rd is a definite no-go.
