  1. http://www.coastercon.com/html/2015_con.html Thank you. I'm guessing that might make the lines a little longer.
  2. Thank you both Genx24 and Boldikus. Great info. I'm more bummed about not getting to ride Batman backwards than it probably beeing down as I got to ride it last year anyway. The main draw this year is getting on Kingda-Ka and Superman as I never got to ride them last year. Still I want to get as much out of my visit as possible. Coaster Con you say? Fill me in on this event.
  3. Is this usually a busy park on weekdays the two weeks leading up to 4th of July? Will the opening of the new RMC have an impact? If someone remembers what it was like when Bizarro opened that would be great.
  4. How crowded does this park get between late June and early July? Are students on break or in school during the weekdays and is it usual for working people to take their holiday this period? I'm thinking of 20th of June to 3rd of July.
  5. Sounds like Toro will not run (surely they would mention it in the announcement, no?), which is a huge bummer but Yeah, I figure as much. I will need to get my rides on it in late June / early July when I'm over in the U.S. Can't wait to get back on it. I miss Nitro too.
  6. If they re-theme El Toro into El Raindeer with antlers I will be over in a heartbeat.
  7. Chill out Carl. Wildfire will be built. In the meantime how about you, me and Rebecca go to Liseberg in early June?
  8. Me and the spouse (I scared for life last year by taking on El Toro) are planning this years trip to the U.S. so the news of Batman going backwards came at the right time: Now I know during what dates we need to go. I missed Kingda-Ka and Superman last year so I have to go there this year anyway making Batman a nice little bonus.
  9. Nice! Just what I needed to pass the time tonight. Thanks! PS. Any ride that requires you to wear some sort of helmet...
  10. This isn't as much a tripreport as a quickreport or perhaps a tipreport. I was just in London, England on other business and made my way through Hyde Park. While walking to the Underground I came across the following. If you happen to be in London and want a few credits in December these are some of your options. Sorry for the lack of quality in the photos but I was in a real hurry. Extra Extra Large Wildmouse Go Big. Go Wildemaus. They had a droptower... ...and one of these deathtraps. Haunted houses are fun. Nothing beats getting wet in near sub-zero temperature. Small suspended coaster. One giant hill. How can you go wrong? The giant hill I presume. For the map aficionados. Detail of above map.
  11. I half-ass attempted this over a 5-day stretch this past August. After meeting up with TPR at Dorney briefly during the Mini East Coast trip, I drove to Rye Playland Park then to my friends' place in Providence, RI. We went to Six Flags New England (didn't see that on your list) on a Sunday for about 4 hours. While friends were at work on Monday, I went to Canobie. I was originally going to try to do that park plus Quassy and Compounce but I was a little slow moving that day. Really wish I had done the TPR Northeast trip in 2011. If time becomes an issue, I recommend skipping Playland. Nicely done and thank you for the pointer. SFNE is filed under my Absolutely-list. I understand that there is some credit-******* in it's purest form to be done at Adventurers FEC, Magic Forest Park, Palace Playland and Funworld Game Center around those parts too. Anyway, I can't wait to get back to the U.S. I had such a blast (even outside theme parks) there this year.
  12. Absolutely: Coney Island Six Flags New England Liseberg Probably: Six Flags Great Adventure Knoebels Great Escape StoryLand Funtown Canobie Lake Quassy Lake Compounce Rye Playland Thorpe Park Maybe: Hersheypark Dorney Park Trip to Italy Trip to Germany I'm looking to get all the smaller park credits of the list in the NE.
  13. I added Impulse at Knoebels as my #2 pick since I'm visiting Knoebels next year too. Real excitement-wise it probably stands between Fury 325 and Twisted Colossos, but since the odds of me riding either of them next year are slim to none Wicked Cyclone and Impulse it is.
  14. El Toro at SFGAdv in the back.
  15. I have to say Wicked Cyclone as there is a good chance I will be riding it next summer if it is ready when I visit in June.
  16. Thank you. It's a trip by the European Coaster Club and not TPR, and it's still in the planning stages at this point.
  17. I really hope it will be ready for the ECC trip to the North-East next year. Sure, Bizarro is there but there really isn't many things much worse than seeing a roller coaster you can't ride.
  18. Me too but in a good way. Even the logo had this Marvel 70's-feel to it.
  19. The HUSS Condor, named Hökfärden at Liseberg, was a one ride only for me. It did NOT have the high safety-bars / cage on the sides. You could quite easily just lean over the side and fall down. I have never wanted a ride to end that badly in my life before or since. Here is a photo of the deathtrap courtesy of Liseberg.
  20. Helix is the only 2014 coaster I tried this year as Thunderbolt at Coney wasn't operational during my visit in early June. What can I say. It's a good coaster but after a few rides I was of to Balder for the reminder of the day.
  21. A three-year girl was taken to the National Hospital Trauma Center after she was run over by a ride at Bakken in Klampenborg. - The girl crawled under the fence to the jeep, off the rails when she was hit by the car, says head of security Ulrik Linden. The little girl was taken by ambulance to hospital. She was conscious when paramedics arrived, police said. - There was just no serious injuries to see. Only some bruising, says head of security Ulrik Linden. The girl's condition is not yet known, but according to Ekstra Bladet information she was hit in the stomach. Executive secretary at Bakken, Lene Alsgren, confirms to Ekstra Bladet that the child was hit by Jeepen, which is a safari themed ride for young children. 22. How are the winters in New England? You must be new at this whole Six Flags thing. Ha! I know the U.S. isn't known for making deadlines and I've learned the hard way not to visit a park for a special ride. The delay of Zumanjaro made me miss Ka at SFGAdv two months ago. I'll just hope Bizarro is up and running...
  23. Well, what ever it is it better be up and running by late May early June when I'm going to SFNE.
  24. R. Barth und Sohn KG is the owner I think. Sad news.
