  1. How long does it usually take them to have it running after something like this? I missed Ka due to the construction of Zumanjaro last year. I'd hate for it to be down this year too during my visit.

  3. ...or oh, crap, if you have trouble with a ride you should perhaps not load a new train until the empty one you just sent out to check it comes back. No, parks have to load a train at some point - otherwise they'd be sending empties through all day. They very well may have sent each one through empty before this one was loaded, and it just so happened that the last one to cycle had stalled. This wouldn't be the first time one got caught in the batwing, so that part isn't really surprising. With that in mind, no modern roller coaster should ever let a train operate within one block of the one ahead of or behind it. Again, there's a serious flaw here in that the train was allegedly stopped at the top of the first lift and then allowed to move forward before the previous one had cleared the mid-course and was climbing the second lift. That should never be possible, period. If the block system was working perfectly and your average teenage ride operator is allowed to make the decision to (and even has the power to, in the first place) override the system...that's just insane. They could have stacked them in the station, but I'm with you 100% No train should be able to enter a block while it has another train on it.
  4. That video first shows footage just after the collision, before cutting to some footage taken of the valleyed train before the collision. Only two trains were involved in the incident. Yes, I edited my post after seeing that there was a cut in the kids video.
  5. On BBCs homepage there is a video where you can see a third train, I assume valleyed, on another section because this ride don't have banked breakruns right? http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-32980354 EDIT: It seems to be a cut and the filmmaker simply moved position before starting again. Not a third train.

  7. No problem. http://www.nt.se/nyheter/?clip=10978679
  8. I a new interview Christer Fogelmarck from Park & Resorts said that production for the ride has been stopped at the factories in Holland and the U.S. He also said that he hadn't given up hope and was hoping to start up again later this summer. If they don't get the green-light they would have to look over the zoning plan to see what it says.
  9. I have no problems holding arms up while riding a ride like Top Thrill Dragster, or any coaster for that matter...but this overgrown swing set on a windy day actually bothers me. Am I the only one? I went to Cedar Point last week and their version of the rider I feel much "safer" if that makes sense. You get a lap restraint like on any big roller coaster along with a nice bar in front of you. I just feel too vulnerable on our Sky Screamer. I'm sure that's part of the effect, but....... You are not alone. I refer to them as 'death-traps'. I'll see if I can muster up the courage to go on the one at SFNE but it's likely that I just lie to myself saying I don't have time for it in order to catch all credits and a few extra rides on Wicked Cyclone and Bizarro.
  10. Nice update. Keep'em coming. About Cobra you were perfectly safe (from dying). When one of the cars broke loose from the track in 2008 it only injured 4 people.
  11. It is a craze. I think Schilke or Grub said that they are taking orders for 2018 now.
  12. When it was announced I knew that this was THE coaster of 2015 but when the first actual POV emerged it just looked great and not as amazing to me as before. Then mediaday happens, Robb posts a new POV and other footage of reverse-POV's shows up and BAM!, it looks as fantastic as I first thought again. I seriously can not wait to get on this. I want it to be June right now.
  13. And why would that be? That thing hauled ass if you watch old footage. No need to have it "modernized" but by all means, have GCI build it according to the old blueprints. 7 minutes in:
  14. Nice. Looking forward to this report. Orlando is one of those places I need to visit. Ever since that Harry Potter-land opened even the spouse wants to go there.
  15. Intamin: El Toro B&M - Nitro I will try out both SFNE's Bizarro and Hersheys Skyrush in less than a month. Perhaps one of them can snatch the #1 spot.
  16. Directions should be on the MTA website, mta.info They also offer a ticket that includes transportation and all rides. Thank you so much for that piece of information good sir! That's quite the discount. EDIT: Was looking at the 2011 prices at first, haha. Still, a better deal than paying everything separately.
  17. I was going to ask the same thing. Given it's size and the fact that the mouth on the thing points towards the ground I can't imagine that it was even up for discussion.
  18. I'm swinging by Rye Playland next month to ride the Dragon Coaster. If you are going with the Metro from NYC what is the best stop to get off? Harrison or Rye Metro North Train Station?
  19. This thing is a beast! As soon as the media day is announced I'm booking the boat-ticket over to Lübeck/Travemünde. I'll break in to that event with my camera if necessary.
  20. If it wasn't for the fact that I have a plane ticket to the U.S. in less than one month I would have emailed my photo to SFMM and bought tickets on a last minute flight bound for L.A. I'm so envious of you guys. Enjoy riding that thing for hours on end the 19th you lucky, lucky b******s.
  21. Be careful not to get struck by idiots running in front of rides. I'm sure it can hurt you just as much. Some viewer discretion is advised: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2H3DHVZj4s Ps. I almost got kidnapped in a bazar in Tunisia about 30 years ago for the same reason as FreeFaller. They lifted me up and started rubbing my hair like crazy.
  22. He must mean the now gone wildmouse in Malmös folkets park.
  23. I usually don't care much about themeing (a good coaster can stand on its own) but man, this has got to be one of the best looking coasters out there.
  24. Not only does this ride look great, but it is also really refreshing to see something not themed to a superhero. Can't wait to get on this thing next month.
  25. Since people seem to have missed my previous post I'll quote myself. Yes, every ride is different.
