Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
Robgraves replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well the WDW emergency training for employees is... Call 911 from a company phone. DO NOT LET ANYONE CALL 911 from a NON COMPANY phone. I had asked about AED's at one point citing Universal Orlando as an example... apparently it would cause bad show and remind guests of the real world.... so, no. It is the one thing i think Disney really needs to do in order to improve the parks record, and also improve it's defense in any lawsuits that ARE brought... showing that they have done all that can be done. Amtrak got sued over not having AED's. It is not a streatch to believe the same would happen to Disney. -
The reason is BECAUSE it is Disney. People get a false sense of security when are at Disney parks and do things they may not normally do. Also the sheer number of visitors adds into that equasion, hence why you could say that WDW is more dangerous than DLR.... Its not, but since it gets exponetially more visitors, then you have more opportunity for things to go wrong. Add into that that people with kids a certain age and or with pre-existing conditions... including terminally ill children and the elderly are more likely to go to Disney than another park, and it is a given that bad things will happen. On a side note... considering the news of the parents of the kid who died on M:S suing Disney.... My lack of faith in humanity wouldn't put it past some a**hole parents to purposely take a kid with a bad heart or something on a ride so as to get some money from Disney... kinda like the guy who died at ROTM at USF....

Most definitely, but it does give insight into some alternate ideas about christianity and SOME of the ideas of the Gnostic and the Cathar sects of Christianity... Reading some of the books that the Council of Nicea removed from the canon really give you a new outlook on what christianity could have been. Seeking knowledge is the purest thrill i can imagine. I get just as much joy in a library as i do in a theme park...

Read Holy Blood, Holy Grail; The Messianic Legacy; and some of the books on the Nag Hammadi Library if you want to have your entire view thrown out of whack. Now there is some stuff in HBHG that is false, but many things that are also very true. Read up on the Cathars and the Gnostics... Also look into the religions of aincent sumeria and egypt and how they influenced the Old Testament.

How do you ride?
Robgraves replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
toatally depends on the ride, and how well i know it. -
looks like a good show this year. I definitely am more impressed with Nintendo's outing. The long feared price of the PS3 is just too exclusionary. Nintendo is going to keep the price low and acessible to the average consumer... not tomention that gameplay wise the Wii looks more fun. Games have lacked great gameplay over the last few years and i have hope nintendo will innovate and the great 3rd party developers will put some creative use to the systems control capabilities. Zelda being the perfect example of what is possible. And sony trying to put the afterthought motion sensor in and raying they would lose the rumble feature cause they don't work together... followed by nintendo doing motion sensing with vibration AND a speaker... im psyched for the wii... and severely underwelmed by the revolution.... and the classic gaming part made me feel downright elderly.
-
i am thus far wholly unimpressed with Sony's latest outing... PS3 is unimaginitive and in many case just poorly planned. I am looking forward to playing with my wii much more than the ps3.
