True, and I am all for personal responsibility.... I will be one of the first to tell you people shouldnt blame others for their actions. The question is, when it bears down to personal responsibility, do you want to place YOUR life... in the hands of someone elses personal responsibility. I mean even most bars/clubs i go to have a cut off limit for patrons and or will take the keys of someone too fershinkered to drive safely. My father was killed by a drunk driver in 2001. He had only made a decision to go take his fiancee out to dinner to celebate thier engagement. The man who hit them had no sense of personal responsibility and was loaded up with whiskey. Who's fault was my father's death? He did every thing right that evening, but someone ELSES lack of personal responsibility killed him and his fiancee.... There is just too much open availability of alcohol with no way of tracking its consumption at UO durning HHN. Why should it have more bars open than in the daytime? I mean i didn't trust in the personal responsibility of the guy behind me in line to not try to pick fights cause he was wasted. I go to HHN to have fun, and i am responsible. I myself only imbibe alcohol on rare occasions, but i have no problem with others drinking responsibly. The problem comes when you set up a situation that encourages irresponsible behaviour, in an irresponsible society.... then it runs the risk of endangering my safety or ruining my fun. I go to HHN to get a spook from something fun and "scary" not to have to wonder if some as*hat is gonna swing at me cause he's wasted and thinks i looked at him too long, or universal overbooked the event and i bump into him on accident due to the crowd. (accordintg to reports, the shooting happened because the victim accidentally bumped into the shooter while they were waling towards the parking garage.) -
hell, im watching history channel now... I mostly only watch History, Discovery, and Travel (Passport to Europe FTW)... lol with a healthy dose of MSNBC

Maybe at least limit it... yes it is an ADULT themed event... but when it comes to alcohol... most "adults" today are not adults.... I mean imagine the guy with the annoying obnoxiouskids at the park in the day time... his kids got it from somewhere.... Im all for beer and wine, and maybe an equal amount of liquor availablity as there is during a normal day at universal... not a bar every 25feet and shot girls roaming the park. . and beer carts and bars in the lines... it is just a recipie for disaster... especially considering the thousands of drunks unleashed upon orlando's roads when HHN closes. -
^^^ Adventures of Ford Fairlaine... OH! "what is best in life?" "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women! "

im currently reading Teutonic Myth and Legend: by Donald Mackenzie and World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War: by Max Brooks (HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED!) i read very little modern fiction, pretty much most of my fiction reading list is pre 1950. I'm a huge fan of Robert E Howard, H.P. Lovecraft and similar "low fantasy" authors. As far as modern stuff I admit im a potter fan... other than that WWZ is the only one that has really caught my interest in a while. I mostly read Non-fiction books on sociology, religion, psychology, polital theory and the like... human behavior FTW!

^^^ The Matrix I had like 4 hard ones... but seeing that it is THIS weekend... i went with one i partially quote often and it fits the weekend... and its real easy... "See? You made me hurt myself again! I broke my hand off completely at the wrist this time, Tina! But that's okay, Darlin', because I love you, and that's why you have to let me EAT YOUR BRAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIINS!"

maybe not "racial" profiling.... but profiling of some sorts may be in order.... but dispite people using it as an excuse... they are less inhibited to doing somthing stupid with alcohol in them. AND this is not a case of "a couple beers" if you have been there this year then you know that there are full liquor bars and bar carts selling liquor all over the place. And then also now selling alcohol IN THE LINES! If it was just beer, it might not be so bad. But liquor makes people drunker quicker, and therefore brings out the stupid factor harder. I mean while in line for scarepy we had a girl coming along the line selling jello shots! This is a theme park, not a night club. -

what i have heard was that the inital altercation occured in citywalk in front of the theater... then the man got his gun from his car and shot the victim... so it is still likely they were hhn guests. -

there were quite a few discussions about it on the Vault. a thread titled "Violent HHN Lately?, Violence at HHN." from two weeks back was pretty detailed on some of the many incidents. Two female scareactors got punched as of the 15th... one in psychopath and one in DOT. -

I really wish UO would make the tough decision that USH did and cut alcohol sales... I had some wanna be thug who was wasted at 6:15 behind me in line for scarepy a few weeks back trying to pick a fight with whoever was near... mostly me.... by the end of the night i had turned to my wife and said.. ' this is gonna be the year somebody gets shot. It is becoming as bad as LA here now." It is a shame I had to be right. I think that this years HHN needs to be a lesson to UO in many ways. While overall it was a good event it had some major issues that need addressed. #1: Violence- Lots of fights this year.. quite a few scareactors getting attacked by guests, including some small females getting punched out by large manly men..... even with the large police presence and metal detectors... this year was like a time bomb. I thought i was at SFMM during some parts of the night. #2 Crowds- HHN has offically gotten too big for its britches. I have been going to HHN every year since the original Fright Nights (minus the years i was in Los Angeles) And this year was the worse... Part of it being poor crowd flow by placing things in too close proximity. Either they have to go back to limited tickets and call a sell out a sell out, or possibly expand to both parks... and not do it like 2004... also more scarezones. Also queues that didnt take you out of the park and down to the road.... #3: Alcohol: this one relates to the violence..... as they go hand in hand. The underage drinking is pretty rough this year as well... The crowds + alcohol lead to violence as well... people get impaitent, people get restless, people get irritible, people get drunk... and well... people get violent. With the amount of "thugs" that i saw at this years even it might be a good idea to put up some of those signs saying that if your wearing certain things, or colours, you wre not allowed in the park? Having a shirt advertises that you sell drugs.... that should be a "sorry, you cant come in... but you did give this lovely officer probable cause to search you very invasively." I miss the days when you saw more Goth kids running around because they are mostly harmless and enjoy the show... they dont punch out scareactors and act all tough all the time. Most the people i know who DID go this year said that the rest of the crowd kept them from wanting to come back because they were afraid of exactly this happening. I hope UO managment thinks long and hard over the safety of their guests and employees about next year. and choose Safety over Profits. It seems to not have hurt USH too bad, though they initally acted too harshly by stopping the event all together thinking that people wouldnt come without alcohol... seems they were wrong, and UO can learn from that example. -

My Hero! hrmmm being a german/italian myself... i would not be upset if they made a ride called the Greasy Kraut.... Or even a park called Mussolini and Hitler's Crazy Fascist Circus of FUN! or a Arcade ticket game called Whack the Wop. or the Guido Gardens or Skipland or the Spaghetti Bender or Ginzo Dago's Meatball Run people are too sensetive, and politically correct. -
