^ Interesting. I've always thought Goliath was a clever name for a coaster. Historically, the name Goliath represents a gigantic, powerful figure -- so, I think it fits.

No. Did you know that Skittles changed the green color from Lime to Green Apple? (Now I throw the green ones in the trash.)

Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
Duff replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
Chicago's winter has been totally mild this year. Highs in the 40's this week! Typically at this time of year we're hunkered down with an arctic tundra outside. -
I cringe whenever I see a ride name billed as "4D." (Example: Shrek 4D at Universal, The Joker 4D Fly Coaster, 4th Dimension coasters, etc.) These rides move you in 3 dimensions (height, width, length), but what about dimension #4 (time). I get that it's a marketing term, but I work in marketing and I still think it's dumb.

Theme park Passes Thread

No season pass. I've been tempted to get a Six Flags pass because I travel a bit for work, and usually end up near a Six Flags park whenever I travel. It would come in handy. -
No. Have you ever woke up so hung over that Advil doesn't help?

Zombie Nightmare (1986). My favorite genre: horror that's so bad, it's good. From my favorite decade... the 80's! (Adam West's appearance is the bonus.)

Corkscrew also has value for its visual placement over the midway. I think the stimulation of watching screaming riders pass right over your head makes Corkscrew a unique asset. It creates an exciting atmosphere in the midway. -

I'm currently playing Zelda: Link's Awakening. It's the perfect entertainment for my daily commute downtown to & from work on the "L."

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

Co-worker reminiscing about a trip to Six Flags Great America: "They have a huge roller coaster called Raging Bull. It's so tall that it has shoulder restraints!" No point in correcting her. It's just funny how people remember things wrong. -
X2. Travel to the future, or travel to the past?

That sucks. Was it an independent restaurant that closed? Hole in the wall Mexican restaurants often make better, more authentic food than chains do. We have quite a few mom & pop Mexican places here in my hood in Chicago. Given the choice, I'd rather eat at a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant over Chipotle.

Most Photogenic Coasters
Duff replied to darklingscribe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is a subjective topic. Looking attractive in photographs can mean different things to different people. For me, this is probably the most photogenic roller coaster I've ever seen: -
Agree. You articulated perfectly.

Totally dedicated & faithful to each other. It works for us. I wouldn't change a thing.

Well that's one way to sell a house. Skip the walking tour. Offer a "coaster tour" of the house instead. Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTt0vbRc4qE&index=1&list=FLB6Gww_KoEV_7G8yP4SjkfQ

So instead of being rude by taking out a phone, you can be rude by checking the time wondering when the damn meeting will be over. ha! Just kidding. That watch does sound cool. BTW, Gisco -- I'm sharing your excitement over getting a new phone. My new phone just arrived 2 days ago, around the same time yours did. I chose the HTC One M8 (the Harman/Kardon edition). Different manufacturer, but the excitement is the same. I hope you're enjoying your iPhone 6!
