  1. Everyone makes reference to this so-called Six Flags trend of building cheap gimmicky coasters, bur other than Yolo and S:UF where are the rest of these so-called gimmicks? I don't consider NTAG, Goliath, iRat, Steel Medusa, X-Flight, and the prospect of Iron Colossus cheap and/or gimmicky. Your cynicism is appreciated but why wouldn't a business have a 5-10 year plan?
  2. Goliath (SFMM) still as smooth as it was 14 years ago when it opened Yolo-Smoother than any B&M I've ridden surprisingly
  3. Something that was a cross between a Mega-Lite and a Blitz Coaster I think would fit well at the mountain. I just don't see Six Flags forking over the $$$ for one if it was built by Intamin. If say Premier or Chance gave it a go, then maybe they'd be up for it since the cost would be much lower. Does really have me curious as to what MM's future coaster plans are in the years following Iron Colossus, I'm pretty sure the higher ups already have an idea of what's going to be built in the next 5 years or so...
  4. The Beast. Just way too rough to enjoy, kept fearing for my spine. I will say the terrain it sits amongst is amazing as well as knowing you're riding a piece of history. Also shout out to the uniquely slow lift on the first hill, really gives you a chance to enjoy the scenery.
  5. If parks are installing rides like Sky Scream and S:UF I don't see why capacity would be an issue here.
  6. I think the fact that it's a modern day B&M 125ft loop that may lead some to believe it will be bland. More then likely it won't pin you in your seat like the loops on the Batman clones and you won't have any hangtime like say on YOLO because of the OSTRs.
  7. Goliath at SFMM, both the MCBR and the final brakes
  8. With this being The "Thunderbird", I really really really hope this ride isn't filled with sand. I really miss that old B&M roar ala Chang/Green Lantern. I love the B&M roar too! Love listening to Mantis, Riddler, Raptor, Afterburn, Batman. It's such a signature sound, and gave the rides such an aura of intimidation.
  9. Maybe because it's "newer" to the GP than Bizarro, 99% of the GP that rides GL has no idea the ride is actually 17 years old
  10. Also I'm sure B&M demands a bigger profit margin in 2014 than in 1994 as they were still a relatively small company (much like RMC of today) and hadn't yet garnered a 20+ year reputation of building the most reliable/durable roller coasters. And in the case of Skyrush vs. Millennium Force, a coaster of MF's size in 2014 would cost around $33 million when you factor inflation. Intamin also probably demands a higher profit margin in 2014 than in 2000 after years of building successful/critically acclaimed giga/mega coasters.
  11. Well I can say right off that bat that you have to factor in inflation when comparing rides like Raptor and Banshee built 20 years apart. If you use an inflation calculator they're probably around the same price with inflation factored in.
  12. I'm no expert on g forces and how they affect the body in compromising positions, but I think it could be one of the most intense elements of all times because of how awkward it would be (much like the pretzel loop). Is it actually possible?? I guess a lot would also have to do with the train design as well...
  13. A little underwhelming for a whopping $22 million, BUT it's the perfect addition for the type of park Holiday World is. Great family ride
  14. The last clue definitely leads to it being an inverted or a flyer *yawn*
  15. They took a lot more trees out than I had expected, oh well at least the ride is open
  16. I went to CP amd KI alone this year, it wasn't bad. Sometimes it gets lonely when you have to wait in a long line or you find yourself alone in a car with 4 abreast seating
  17. Exactly! People have unrealistic expectations for MM, I said this a while back on this very thread and was told I didn't know enough about parks and I was making excuses for MM
  18. Hmmmmm, he gives a very coy smile after declining to answer... Interesting
  19. And even though Hershey isn't affiliated with Cedar Fair, I'm sure the problems they had with Skyrush didn't swing the pendulum in favor of Cedar Fair working with Intamin any time soon either. It's really unfortunate because a mega-lite is JUST what MiA needs, although the chance version could be a great alternative.
