  1. Interesting point, almost like Mean Streak vs. Blue Streak or even The Beast vs. Racer. Yes The Beast has an amazing layout that can't be compared to any other wooden coaster, but the ride IMO is difficult to ride because it's really rough and doesn't track well *hides from Beast fanboys/fangirls*
  2. Are you the same Goose that had a messageboard back in like the late 90's-00's
  3. I rode it back in 2001 at SFA, wasnt too bad and the facing trains was a quirky little gimmick. I remember it being A LOT smoother than the SLC at that park
  4. I'll never forget when we were teenagers my friend and I were in line for Superman The Escape and some girl was going to TOWN on one of those giant sour pickles, slurping the juice and everything. My friend who despises pickles saw her and it looked like he had seen a ghost, losing all the color in his face watching her devour this pickle. My stomach still hurts from laughing
  5. Great pics!! I gotta get up there one of these days to ride Superman, I only live about 4.5 hrs from the park and have never been
  6. I know right, shipping a gigantic roller coaster overseas seems like it'd be ridiculously expensive
  7. I dunno, Maverick's OSTRs seem like a treat compared to something like Mantis where you feel like you've gone a couple rounds with Mayweather.
  8. Hmmmmmm, maybe Fury 325 isn't for Carowinds after all?? J/K I doubt it's for a coaster considering they're probably still making payments on giant Banshee
  9. How about their new coaster design? The one that's like an extended launched skyloop? You took the words right out of my mouth. No doubt Premier was inspired (I say copied but we'll use inspired for editorial purposes) by Maurer's sky loop and X Coaster concepts for their latest rides, especially considering their latest models look nothing like their predecessors (FoF, JJ, Mr. Freeze). So no doubt they were also "inspired" by their train design as well IMO That being said, I don't think anything is wrong with adaptation, emulation, or interpolation... I mean hell Mack and Chance are copying Intamin's mega-lite, Zamperla copying Gerstlauer's Euro fighters, B&M purse-snatched Vekoma's dutchmen, so it's nothing new.
  10. Neither, if you look at them they're very different. Premier decided to use a similar design after maurer's success. Well it's a blatant copy IMO, the restraints are different but other than that it's the same exact concept. Seems like a lot of manufacturers are copying each other though; Mack copying Intamin, Zamperla copying Gerstlauer, Premier copying Maurer Sohne etc;
  11. Wow that pic with the track next to a pick up truck really gives perspective on how massive Leviathan's track is
  12. Speaking of trains, does Premier use Maurer Sohne trains for their catapult coasters or is it that Premier has been building the trains for MS all this time???
  13. Just watched a vid of Texas Cyclone, so sad I'll never have a chance to ride it
  14. I learned this back when I was 14, I used to be terrified of big drops and figured out riding with your hands up takes away that feeling in your stomach. There's just something about being unrestricted that makes coaster riding so much more enjoyable.
  15. I love Green Lantern, it's so intense and feels like your soul is being ripped from your body. The restraints could be better though, I feel like they dig into my shoulder muscles usually causing soreness the next day. That being said, I feel like X2 bangs me around much more than GL but it's fun enough where it doesn't matter
  16. I say Ninja to start, maybe Apocalypse or Colossus. Yolo might be too much, launches are really intense if you're not used to them.
  17. I actually saw that thing about Goliath not being new yesterday on Facebook. Six Flags posted a photo of SFGAm's Goliath or something, and all these people fro SFOG, SFNE, and SFOG kept commenting things like, "That's not new, that's been here for seven years at SFMM!" LOL LOL! Kind of bugs me though how Six Flags has absolutely overused "Goliath". It was such a cool/unique name for the original Goliath especially considering the size, but some of these rides they're using it on....a Batman clone??? A GIB??? Come on SF!!
  18. With the success of Gold Striker maybe GCI would be a serious contender for CP, though the prospect of Gravity Group has me licking my chops more. In a way I do hope CP holds out for RMC's alleged deal with Six Flags Iron Horse treatment to terminate before doing anything to MS. Simply because CP is known for cutting edge coasters and a traditional woodie just seems too benign for the park at the moment. You had the 1,2,3 punch of MF, TTD, and Maverick; then Gatekeeper was a nice all around addition to revamp the entrance, now it's time for something cutting edge again.
  19. Kevin Hart had me rolling riding Rip Rock It, he was legit scared sh**less
