  1. I think the prospect of a weird, twisty, never before seen first drop sounds exciting.
  2. If they were going to add a flat ride, there are so many better options than a ring of fire. I'm assuming Six Flags got a deal for installing them at multiple parks
  3. Sounds good to me, as long as it isn't the same duration as Goliath Again, I just don't understand the complaining. If Magic Mountain installed a version of Great America's Goliath that was 5 seconds SHORTER, it would still be, hands down, the best ride in the park. So we are complaining about the name. Complaining about the potential for a longer RMC ride. Complaining about the potential for a shorter RMC ride. Is anyone actually HAPPY or looking forward to the ride at all!?!? I'm sure what ever RMC has come up with will be amazing, the MM fanboy in me just wants the bragging rights of having the baddest RMC in the line-up thus far. Just a little dreaming/wishful thinking on my part
  4. This is the element that caught my attention the most when I first watched the vid
  5. After what happened on NTAG, I hope all parks choose the safer rout. It stinks that your wife is too big to ride certain coasters, but remember its for safety reasons. That's why children or pregnant women cannot ride certain rides. And yes in our society of political correctness they probably said your clothes were too thick instead of being honest and saying she herself is too big. Hey, maybe this will be motivation to drop a few pounds. I have seen lots of success stories on here from people that were motivated to lose weight after they were turned away from a ride. Me, for one. At one point in the early 1990s I was having trouble fitting in the back seat of the Coney Island Cyclone. I realized that I had really let myself go and vowed to fix that. Never had a problem again. It was great motivation to lose some weight. Great post! It seems like a lot of people like to complain about being to big for certain rides but won't take the steps to rectify the situation.
  6. It wouldn't make sense for them to tear out Colossus completely when they could've just built a brand new RMC somewhere else in the park. Heck they could've even weaved an RMC coaster in an out of Colossus and Scream if they wanted to.
  7. That would be amazing!! Not having to wait for a tram or making that long trek back to the car with sore feet
  8. Will be interesting to see if RMC uses both tracks and in what fashion (racer, dueler, a complete circuit with two lifts). The structure is there for two tracks, why have it go to waste?? Then again there is the cost element, Six Flags meager spending ways raise a huge question mark in my eyes. Just a few more days 'til we know!!
  9. Though I'm ready for the RMC conversion, I'm kinda sad this is Colossus' last day. I still remember how huge the ride seemed as a kid and being terrified the first time I rode it.
  10. Technically Universal Studios Hollywood is my home park since I live 5 mins away but I don't like it there so I'm adopting SFMM. 2015-Iron Colossus 2016-Kiddie Coaster #5 "Jr. Full Throttle" 2017-A Premier mega-lite 2018-Water park expansion 2019-Apocalypse re-track
  11. Even though SFMM is my home park and I think people are way too harsh on the place, in no way is it better than CP
  12. I guess in a few years if Six Flags still has a good working relationship with RMC, they can just put topper track on Apocalypse. I think it's still a great ride, no where near as rough as Ghostrider
  13. Superman Escape From Krypton is by far the loudest I've ever heard... Mantis and Riddler's Revenge are also very loud and can be heard from a pretty good distance
  14. Nope, I said exactly what I meant because I don't consider X-Flight a cheap ride and why I listed it among the RMC coasters as rides by Six Flags I dont feel are cheap AND/OR gimmicky.
  15. I wouldn't consider Maverick gimmicky at all, it really is a true world class ride I was absolutely blown away by it and really wish MM would get something similar. To me a gimmicky ride is something that doesn't really offer the rider a new experience but rather a slightly altered experience (ie Floorless, Wing Coasters, Giant Inverted Boomerang) and is either a one or two trick pony. Maverick has TOO many tricks and is an incredible unique experience to be a gimmick.
  16. Keep dreaming. Everyone hoped that YOLOcoaster would be a 6000' long terrain multi-launch coaster before it was announced and instead we got a short gimmicky coaster (at least the ride itself is really good). It's pretty apparent that SFMM and the Six Flags chain is building big, gimmicky rides without a large investment. There are a few exceptions to this, though it would be very unlikely that a long airtime-filled Mega Lite Blitz coaster would be built in the near future at SFMM. Oh really? Maverick is fairly gimmicky to a GP, but awesome gimmicky - double launch, 95 degree drop, inversions, the "dueling" as you return... the heartline roll would have been cool, but we all know what happened there. Still too steep of a price tag for Six Flags, as Superbatboy said. YOLO is way too short, but considering everything, I think they got a good deal for 6 million dollars. I can't believe that YOLOCoaster costs the same as a Windseeker... Imagine what Premier could build given some good terrain, lots of room, and 15-20 million dollars... awesomeness. Although, one must note that YOLOCoaster only has 2 high points, and they are on the same structure, reducing costs. The next highest point is the flying snake dive (I consider that element a flying snake dive a la Storm Runner) and the approach to the "top hat." The rest of the ride (which is short in itself) is either hugging the ground or built through the old monorail tunnel. About the "6000' terrain coaster" concept, where did people think that would go? Over by Ninja? Or were people thinking more of a "twsity" concept? Yolo was an incredible deal, $6 million for a full circuit coaster that helped boost attendance and revamp a pretty lack luster area of the park. I really hope MM works with Premier again!!
  17. I was expecting a reply like this which is why I said "cheap and/or gimmicky". The 16-18 million Six Flags spent on X-Flight is far from frugal
