Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
CPSFMMCW replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is it just me, or has Kings Dominion really not been crowded at all this season? In years past, the park has built up some really packed days, but it seems like this year hasn't really gotten that crowded. I think the longest line I've waited in all season has been 45 minutes (of course, for Volcano) -
Hmmm. I wonder if Hustler is safe. Thats a good question. This RMC wood coaster rumor at Great Adventure makes absolutely no sense... it probably won't even be the best wood coaster in the park. I'd rather they get a small flat ride and spend their money fixing Nitro's train C and making whatever modifications they need to make to allow Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro to run together so Kingda Ka doesn't have 2+ hour waits every day. I personally just think they should get a 100 foot tall GCI twister. Not gonna happen though. I think having El Toro and an RMC in the park is a little overkill. So I am skeptical about this one. As of Fiesta Texas, I'm starting to think maybe it isn't gonna be an RMC woodie. They keep on raising that height which leads me to believe that those will be the heights of each airtime hill. So something that is packed with airtime. And knowing how Six Flags isn't gonna spend the money on a B&M hyper, that almost rules out that option, so in conclusion I still am clueless about this new ride.

Announcing "Skyline Attractions"

Man, I'm TIRED of parks teasing us! Can't parks just announce it and be done with it! Is that too much to ask?! Probably... -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Was at Kings Dominion today on a very casual trip. Saw shows, went to the top of the eiffel tower, and only rode a few roller coasters. I also looked for those markings in Water Works, but couldn't find them. Can someone please tell me exactly where they are? Is it possible they're gone? Other than that, two things caught my eye while I was there. First thing is that my favorite of the four shrooms is missing an eyelid. The poor chap looks like he had a rough night. Second thing, is that I noticed the walk way path for the Hurler has a bunch of footers that surround the pathway. I took a photo of a few to show you what I mean. Anyone know why those are there? -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
CPSFMMCW replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I died from what I heard at Kings Dominion today. So a guy is talking to his kids, and he's "educating" them on how roller coasters work, and it went something like this: "Ya see, roller coasters work like trains. A guy is controlling the cars and controls where they go. So its extremely tough for them at night because the workers can't see the track, so thats why the coasters derail so often." Me: -

Did coasterchitchat get kicked out of TPR? I can't find any of his posts on this thread. He either removed them all or he was kicked. -

They better not touch Wild One!! And this is me just thinking, but hypothetically speaking lets say that they are in fact removing Roar. Normally when an attraction is removed, a new one is often put in its place. So heres what I'm getting at. I read somewhere that Six Flags America owns A LOT of land, and most of it is unused. So why on earth would they remove a coaster so that they could put something new in its place? They have the land to find room for a new ride. If they're removing Roar, it must be because of Roar, not because they need the land for a new ride. -
I think the coaster is suppose to be flipped the other way, so that the non inverting loop is on the left side, not the right. I could be wrong though. And I am excited for this addition, the superman clones seem like very good rides. And I'll argue that it IS marketable. Only backwards coaster in the state of virginia. There ya go.

I didn't have a problem with Roar at all! I hope they aren't gonna remove it! Geez these parks gotta be more specific!
