The only thing wrong with KK's location is that there is a road running though the middle of the park, other than that it's a great location. Right off of a major highway, very accessible from nearby major cities, yeah they have some height restrictions with the airport nearby but Lightning Run doesn't seem to suffer from a lack of height. Seems like if Twisted Twins is getting the RMC treatment and it's half as good as everything else they have done then KK will have one of the better two coaster combos of any park in America.

Just this morning I was thinking what a shame it is that Orlando is opening a King Kong attraction the same year that the Jurassic Park reboot mad $500 MILLION dollars on openign weekend! Kong should be a fun addition but it looks like that thing takes up most of the un-used land in the existing Jurassic Park section of IOA so they're gonna have t oget creative with a new atraction in that area. Is the Discovery Center even used for anything anymore? I haven't been to IOA for a while but seems like everytime I went in there that place was dead. Maybe it's time to recycle that space (and the old triceratops encounter buildings) for something new.

The Funtown Mountain Grand Awesomeing (opening) is right around the corner this weekend and they've posted prices for the attractions. They have also annonced outdoor movies that will be playing on the weekends all summer long as well as several bands and food trucks etc. that will be in attendance. Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Oh Brother Where Art Thou and The Wizard of Oz are all on the schedule for this weekend. Prices for the attractions Movies that will be shown for free all summer The Froggy Bottom Boys will be play your old timey music favorites The Haunted Hotel The Haunted Hotel is taking reservations starting next weekend! I love the billboards they've posted along the interstate Hope this thing is a success this weekend. Also keep in mind that this year is a bit of a "soft" grand openeing as it sounds like the plan is getthe place open for a limited run this summer then add some more attractions and rides for next year. Hopefully a new coaster is still part of their plans at somepoint.

Even though it's just concept art it looks like the boats are the same as before with no added capacity, eh, I'll guess we'll just have to make sure we get a fastpass for this one! I wonder how Epcot will incorperate this into their Fastpass+ program, maybe it would be great if this were a tier B attraction so that you could have a fastpass for Soarin/Test Track and this in the same day but I got a feelign the demand for this thing might say otherwise.

PowerPark Discussion Thread

The hang time in the loop and that drop off of the midcourse looks fantastic. Great looking ride, I really wish some more American parks would find a way to build these Eurofighters (yes I know there are a few out there, but some more would be nice!). -
Big thrills for a low price!

$4.6 million seems like a pretty good deal for Kentucky Rumbler. That really put that park on the map and I'm sure Beech Bend has made that back several times over since it opened. -
Underrated Coasters?
Hilltopper39 replied to Yero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Raptor- one of the best B&M invert out there in my opinion Gemini- great family coaster by todays standards Kraken- really solid ride that doesn't get as much attention as some of the other major coasters in the orlando are Phantoms Revenge- easily a top 10 caliber cosater in my book that never seems to find it's way into any top 10's Storm Runner- same as above, a bit short but that thing is action packed, i much prefer it over Dragster or most other launch coasters. Outer Limits- great launch, great pacing, wicked layout in the dark, insanley comfortable with the lap bars. Tennessee Tornado- I'd take it over just about any sitdown looper not named Kumba, the drop though the mountain is great -
Carnival ride operators
Hilltopper39 replied to LuminousAphid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I had a carnival operator at my local county fair offer me $20 to help him tear down the ferris wheel one year, so they certianly know how to save money on labor! -
Yup, a SeaWorld and Busch Gardens two park pass is a must have for 2016, this and Mako both look like incredible additions (but mostly..THIS). Can't wait to follow the construction of this thing. I wonder if the two vertical lifts will be in that same tower structure or if there will be two separate lift sections.

Just a comment on the space issue, but for me water parks can be more compact than amusement parks and still be effective. You can pack a ton of great slides and attractions into a smaller footprint and still have a great park. Long walks in between slide exit pools and entrances and your chair and such gets to be a hassle at times so the more stuff in a smaller space the better to me. With their claims of "It will be a whole new generation of experience that reimagines what it means to be a water park," I'm hoping we finally get to see some real "rides" in a wate park setting. I've always though a rapids ride or a log flume in a water park would be awesome so maybe, we'll see.

From the various news outlets that have reported on this announcement it sounds like there are goin to be forward, backwards, and spinning sections to this ride. Can't wait to see this thing progress but it shouild turn out to be an awesoem attraction. Side note, now that I have a little one of my own it's nice to see parks building really awesome attractions that don't have a 54" height restriction. This should be a seriously awesome coaster that the whole family can enjoy. First Fire Chaser, now Cobra's Curse, hopefully this trend continues.

I may be wrong but I would say that this opinion probably puts you in the minority of most SeaWorld park guests, not the minority of people who changed their opinion on the parks as a result of the Blackfish fallout but certianly in the minoirty of people who still activley attend the parks and have annual passes like myself. I'm thrilled with the addition, wish they would have done it a year ago closer to the Blackfish stuff, but it's a great addition for the park and their guests. I'm sure they will expand the whale habitats appropriatley in due time, and it will be spectacular, but a new major coaster gets the nod for now.

I wouldn't put that past them, it is Florida so they can perform construction work all winter long, and that's a full 10 months away. Seems like Manta ended up opening in the early/late spring if I remember correctly (maybe not). From the POV it looks like the station will be between the Shark Encounter building and the Nautilus theatre behind the Shark building, and from the concept art it looks like there might be a new pathway built directly across from the Nautilus on the strip of land between the large lake and the smaller pond. Seems like a tight squeeze but that whole are should look fantastic when it's all done. (I always felt like there should be a path there on that strip of land, now it looks like there might be!).

B&M's are kind of funny in a way, I can't think of another manufactuer where so many "enthusiasts" have such mixed feelings towards their rides. I've read great reviews of Fury, and average reviews of Fury. I thought Goliath at laronde was just kind of okay where others thought it was one of the best out there. Not even gonna bring up Oziris cause I've never ridden it but reviews were fairly mixed on that as well. Personally when it comes to B&M hypers my favorites are Goliath at SFOG and I really like Apollos Chariot which is another ride that doesn't seem to get much love. If this is a B&M hyper I'm sure it will be a reliable capacity monster that will be a huge hit with the park and taking what SeaWorld has done with their recent additions I'm sure it will have an incredible enviroment built into and around it. Should be an exciting addition even if it's a mediocre ride by enthusiast standards.

As cool as it would be to see Gwazi overhauled by RMC that is a HUGE chunk of land that it sits on and with BGT's recent additions that incorperate animal habitats in with rides and attractions (Jungala, Cheetah Hunt) seems like that area holds a lot of potential for future expansion of the park. Win win for enthusiats/BGT fans I suppose, new dueling racing RMC monster or new park section of some sort.

^^Yeah, I agree. SeaWorld is one of those parks where the themeing in certain sections is fantastic (Antartica, Manta, Kraken/Journey, Key West, Waterfront area, entry gate) but in other areas is kind of lacking (Shark Encounter/nautilus area, Wild Arctic, Happy Harbor is just okay to me, Shamu area. the old stables/brewery area). Hopefully with this and future additions they will continue to upgrade the park and add consistent levels of themeing to the new areas. I'm pretty excited about the future at Seaworld, between the new coaster, removing the games area, potentially replacing/upgrading Wild Arctic at some point they place has a lot look forward to in a park that is already pretty darn good. If the new coaster delivers then SeaWorld will probably have the best coaster collection in Orlando, it's just a shame Antartica was such a dud (although it always has a line so maybe people like it?).
