  1. I wish they would just go ahead and build the Flying Dinosaur coaster in IOA, but then again......Universal.
  2. I just wish it lasted longer than 24 hours. Really, that's my biggest and probably only complaint about Snapchat and if you could create a "story" that would expire in a few days or maybe even a week, I'd use it more often. I can't tell you how many times I've just missed someone's updates because I hadn't logged into Snapchat in like 28 hours. And for a content creator, it's sort of a lot of work to do to have it all disappear in such a short amount of time. Even if stories could last 48 or 72 hours that would be HUGE improvement for me. Yeah I agree with you, I do wish a story would stay active for longer than 24 hours, 48 or 72 would be great. They have been adding features lately like "swipe up for a link" and stuff so maybe it will come eventually. I guess if you wanted to you could "save" a story then re-share it the next day after the original one expires, but yeah that's some extra work. There are defiantly some good snapchat follows and some bad ones out there, but if done well for me it's like a live stream with out the dead air and annoying comments. I've got friend at the St. Louis City Museum right now Snapchatting and it's cool to periodically check in for a few minutes worth of "highlights" of his day through his eyes, just feels like a different perspective that live steams and other platforms really can't deliver. Robb, just a question but Does Snapchat give you back user data like Facebook or Twitter other than "here's how many and who viewed your story"? As much as I enjoy the platform I have wondered how lucrative it is to the more "popular" users, if it's not worth your time to use as frequently because you don't get the views and shares and equivalent benefits associated with that I totally get it, but have been curious about that from more commercial users.
  3. Facebook and Snapchat were my votes. I love me some Snapchat and honestly think some of the most creative "things" people are doing in social media right now seem to be on Snapchat.
  4. I never could figure out if Zippin Pippin was truly "relocated" or just mostly rebuilt as a replica. Still looks like a fun ride.
  5. I'm interested to see if the parks are open tomorrow with all of the power outages. Then again those facilities likely have their own generation but whether or not they have enough generation to fully open a park I have no clue. Are the power outages in Orlando as widespread as they are up here? I kept power through thee whole storm but there's a massive chunk still without it, and the winds are still to high to begin repairs from what is being reported.
  6. I mean I always enjoyed T2:3D, thought it was really cool mixture of live action and special effects, but yeah it's pretty dated at this point. Excited to see what replaces it.
  7. With this ride being "shortened" it would be kind of cool if they just abandoned in place the old track sections that aren't in the path of the new circuit, like in the structure of the north turn around. That would probably freak some people out .
  8. If I owned my own theme park it would be like..........Knoebels, or Epcot. Basically EPCOT with Knoebels as the American pavillion. KnoebelCOT.
  9. Apparently, according to the animations, all of the new for 2018 attractions are going to operate during severe lightning storms. Glad to see Six Flags improving their weather policies.
  10. I guess you could complain that it's on the short side but honestly it's only like 500 feet shorter than Storm Chaser which I've heard people completely rave about so I'm guessing this thing will be action packed start to finish, and a huge hit. I'm looking forward to getting back to this park, it's been a few years since they haven't really built anything new that interested me but this and Justice League make it worth the trip.
  11. I fully expect the Slinky Dog coaster to be a giant hit similar to the & Dwarves Mine Train. I'd love to see a similar sized "family coaster" installed at Animal Kingdom and Epcot before it's all said and done.
  12. Yeah those pictures are kinda of sad to see, that attractions was the total package and just on a different level that we might not ever see again (state side at least, I see you Phantasialand).
  13. Don't forget Fun Spot is open til midnight so there's time to get in some rides late at night. Despite what others on this board might think personally I can't imagine spending more than like an hour or 2 at Fun Spot. I love the place but I'm good with dropping in for a few coaster rides and a beer, no need to spend all night there.
  14. Yeah Discovery Cove is great and if you have the time to squeeze it in it's totally worth it. With SeaWorld open later for the Christmas stuff there's probably time to thoroughly enjoy both parks in the same day even if it means missing a few things here or there at Seaworld. May wanna keep an eye on the weather if you're are considering Discovery Cove, some of the water is heated and they do provide wet suits but December in Orlando can be kind of hit or miss. If its 78 and sunny it could be a great day but if it's 67 and over cast might not be as enjoyable.
  15. Yeah I totally get that my 2 year old isn't the target demographic but something, anything would be nice. Volcano Bay is equally as frustrating, my kids LOVE water parks but everything there is 42" or over. Disney has body slides, tube slides, mat slides, and family raft slides with no height restriction, Volcano Bay 42" min. for just about everything. It's cool though, no hard feelings, I'll just spend my money elsewhere.
  16. I'm all for 42" - 48" thrill rides, but in my constant yelling at parks to make sure areas within a park have something for everyone, Potter Hell already has a 36" ride, a 48" ride, a few shows, a zero height restriction train ride, and this big 54" ride so honestly I was okay with that. One of my biggest issues with Universal is that if you're under 36 inches there's not much for you to do at either park. A carousel, couple of flat rides, the train, and that's about it. Even the Cat in the Hat dark ride is 36" which never made any sense to me. I guess you can get a stationary seat for the Minions ride but a dark ride with no height restriction would be a great addition, maybe there will be something in Nintendo but I'm guessing not. I really want to go back to Universal because there's so much new stuff I haven't seen but I'll probably wait a few more years until the kids are tall enough to actually do something.
  17. ^I stayed there once before several years ago, it's actually a pretty solid property if I remember correctly. It's kind of tucked away off of I-Drive, like behind a shopping plaza so it's a tad off the beaten path, but easily within walking distance to Mango's and the Orlando Eye complex which has a ton of restaurants and stuff. Pretty solid location to me. I was actually looking to stay there in November for a concert since everything downtown is crazy expensive or sold out. *EDIT: One thing with hotels in Orlando I've learned the past couple of years is some properties charge a resort fee and some don't and I haven't really figured out what the classification cut off is. May wanna keep an eye on it if you don't wanna be surprised by an extra $20+ a day.
  18. One of my normal "recommendations" for Orlando trip if you're not interested in Disney or Universal is to look into Discovery Cove, but that time of year isn't really ideal and you might not have enough time to squeeze it into your schedule. Either way it's a pretty good value so check it out if you have any interest at all in that place. As far as iDrive I'll let the current locals make the real recommendations since I'm a few years removed from the scene but for live music there's a BB Kings at the Pointe Orlando complex that was always a pretty good time, maybe kind of generic to some I guess but still fun and the hsoue band is always pertty good. Pointe Orlando is pretty close to SeaWorld so might be a decent location. here's the link to SeaWorld's park hours page. Looks like it's open til 9 or 10 most of the weekends in December, probably because of the Holiday stuff. Sea World Park Hours And here's Busch Garden's hours, open til 10 pm probably for Christmas events as well. Busch Gardens Park Hours
  19. Oh that's interesting, I must be remembering the signage from all the previews and never realized it was removed before the actual public opening. I've always wondered what goes into the decision to have a single rider line and why some attractions have them and some don't.
  20. So is there no single rider line at all anymore for Flight of passage? Or do they just close the single rider line later in the night, I know I've seen some attractions do that close to park closing ( we used to at the attraction I worked on).
  21. I've never been a huge fan of the splash battle rides because you get totally soaked, like to the point where it can make you miserable for the rest of the day. I wonder if there's any chance they move the Splash Battle to Splash Country, I've always wanted to see one of these operate in a water park.
  22. I mean that picture's pretty cool and all but come on, it's just a tad bit deceiving. I was in like the 90% coverage zone it didn't get anywhere near that dark, and I'm pretty sure Sandusky was even further from the path of totality than we were. The whole thing was sort of underwhelming, but cool picture anyways I guess.
  23. And the guests that are PAYING to have those employees employed deserve to ride the attractions at the park they paid money to ride. I'm sorry, but this is just so stupid my brain cannot process the information without exploding like someone's retinas looking directly into the sun. That's like argument that comes up every year around the Holidays that stores/businesses shouldn't be open so the workers can spend time with their families to. Also a dumb argument, that's part of the gig you signed up for, make it work.
  24. Perhaps I have underestimated the potential cookie dough. I'll have give it a try next time I'm in Celebration, looking forward to it actually, I love an excuse to go to Celebration! Now if some people would just give country music a chance.....
