  1. Yeah I would absolutely give the Universal parks 2 or 2.5 or 3 full days and use the half day when you arrive for something else, SeaWorld, Aquatica, FunSpot etc. The Orlando water parks in the summer time get absolutely slammed so be aware of that. If you're really interested in Aquatica (and hey it's included in the ticket so why not) I'd recommend hitting it first thing in the morning and knocking out the major slides before it gets crowded or later in the afternoon/evening before close. There is a shuttle that runs from the main gate of SeaWorld to Aquatica and back all day that I've used a few times and it's pretty easy to spend a few hours at Aquatica then hop over to SeaWorld for the coasters or vice versa. Might be worth considering teaming those two parks up on the same day instead of Aquatica/Fun Spot, on on the arrival day depending on park hours arrival time etc.
  2. Maybe they can find a way to re-use the Flight of passage tech if this true.
  3. ^Probably would have been a better draft pick than John Ross.......
  4. I don't really have a problem with Dinoland as a whole, it is what it is but my kids love it so there's that. My biggest issue with the land is Primeval Whirl has a 48" height requirement, taller than Everest and anything else at Disney besides Rock n Roller Coaster, for what should be a family mouse coaster. If they tore that out tomorrow and replaced it with a family coaster that had a 38 or 40" height requirement it would be a massive improvement IMO. I like Dinosour, just wish the ride building wasn't so dark that you can barley see anything. If they turned up the lights like 10% percent so you could actually see the dinos and the sets it would be so much more memorable.
  5. Yeah no you're not alone there, especially with the Pandora addition. There are some aspects of the park that are disappointing to me, well not disappointing just things that are totally fine but I wish were better overall. Regardless of that it's become similar to EPCOT in that I can go there for a whole day with nothing planned and just totally wing it and have a great day. Our past couple of trips to AK have been fantastic.
  6. Sounds like a Livestream waiting to happen......
  7. last Friday night I did the que for Flight of Passage at the end of the night game and had the same results Robb has reported. Standbye que was posted at about 140 minutes, we got in line at 7:55, was in the lab by 8:45, off the attraction by 9:10, in the car at 9:20. Highly recommend going this route to experience the attraction and avoid the stand by line. As for the attraction itself, holy cow that thing was really fun. I can't say anything about it that hasn't been said yet but I don't love simulators and that was a totally refreshing take on the format. Really fun ride that I'm looking forward to getting on again.
  8. Ya know considering all of the MTV cribs, most Expensiviest, World's Most Extreme Backyard style tv shows (I mad the last one up but it could be real for all I know), and (some of) mankind's never ending mission to gain exposure and likes and followers I'm kind of surprised a legitimate "backyard" coaster hasn't been built yet..... Almost would have been more believable for some Power Ball Mega Millions winner to have done it in 2009 than the owner of the world's leading coaster companies in 2018.
  9. Somehow, I've never been to Kennywood. That would explain it haha. It's in my top five steel coasters, if that means anything. I'm not alone! I don't remember where I ranked it but it was in the top 10 for sure. Such a unique ride, weird layout with the terrain, great drops, great speed, crazy airtime, great ride overall.
  10. Man, four fairly extensive lists and Phantom's Revenge is only on one of them? Always thought that coaster was severely underrated but maybe it's just me (or you haven't been on it).
  11. Yeah, we're gonna hit River Journey around 7, grab a bite at the Satuli Canteen (which we had a few weeks ago and was seriously AWESOME), then grab a few adult beverages and hop in the standby line close to 8. First Disney trip without the kids in a while and I am SO excited. Don't get me wrong I love my kids, but mommy and daddy need a night in Pandora and a lap around the Showcase hahaha.
  12. ^I saw tweet this morning and and wondered how long the standby was posted at. We're going to AK next Friday and that's exactly our plan, except we have a fastpass for River Journey. Can't wait to get on those attractions and see this place at night.
  13. This looks awesome and I'm sure people will love it but....................... Get out of here with those fancy donuts with cereal and bacon and garbage, the only donuts that matter are 1. traditional glazed 2. cream filled long john (not Boston Creme or custard you monsters) 3. Apple Fritter (yes, get off my lawn )
  14. You're not entirely wrong here, but they did score 45 on the Steelers ........(with only 1 defensive touchdown). The Jags offense is hit or miss, and they play WAY better with the lead than from behind. If they can get out to an early lead, get a turnover, get Fournette going, maintain a long drive for a touchdown, whatever, then I like them to keep it close and have a chance to win the game. If Brady get on em early and they're playing from behind it might be a long day.
  15. Yeah, the Dole Whip is really refreshing on a hot day so I always enjoy them. Honestly don't think I've ever heard anyone "over-hype" it, the line for them does get long so maybe that has something to do with it but $5 for a decently sized cup of soft serve at a Disney park I don't see how anyone could be that disappointed.
  16. You mean to tell me Disney theme park fans overhyped a Disney theme park thing? That is shocking, absolutely shocking.... Not tryin to single out Disney only here so what's more over hyped, Dole Whip or Butter Beer?
  17. My wife and I have a kids-free Disney trip coming up next weekend and honestly I had kinda forgot about the Festival of the Arts at Epcot, but based on recent reviews from you guys and everywhere else I'm pretty excited about it. Glad we're spending most of a full day at Epcot and decided to not make a dining reservation so we can just stroll around and eat/drink at all of the stands dedicated to the festival. (yes I realize the previous report from the Cruise Line, Aulani, and Adventures By Disney isn't part of the Festival of the Arts but still looking forward to the event.)
  18. I can think of a few other ways to exercise that may or may not be as much or maybe even more fun......individual experiences may vary.
  19. ^yeah, it seems to be working fine now I just don't want to rank 300 some odd coasters because after the top 30 or 40 or 50 or so whats the point? I guess to phase the question better does the poll want to know every coaster ridden by everyone who participates and a ranking of all of those coasters so that it can use that data to produce the results or is a top 20 or 30 etc good enough to make this poll valid and meaningful?
  20. So here's a question I'm not sure I've seen answered or addressed. I'm not sure how you guys are compiling and calculating the rankings from everyone's entry on the back end but do you want/need everyone to rank every single coaster they've ridden on or just their top 10/20/50/ whatever they feel is reasonable? I honestly got kind of tired of dragging and then scrolling, and dragging then scrolling over and over to get a ride from the bottom of the list into the ranking column so instead I went back to my list of "coasters ridden" and just de-selected everything that I didn't think would be considered for my personal top 20ish list. So for a park like Cedar Point my "coaster's ridden" list is only like Maverick, Millennium Force, Dragster, Magnum, Raptor instead of all 17 or however many coasters, and then I built my top 20 list from a more select list of coasters. So would you prefer that the coasters ridden list include every single coaster a person has ridden even, and do you want the actual rankings list to rank every coaster in the "coaster ridden list".
  21. Wow, two absolutely amazing games yesterday. As exciting as the Jags game was, especially for me personally, the ending of that Minnesota game might be an all time great. Also, with that win yesterday the Jags are now 5-1 the last 10 years at Heinz field, and Leonard Fournette has more rushing TD's at Heinz field this year than Leveon Bell. Absolutely nobody will pick the Jaguars to beat the Patriots next week, and that's fine, bring on the GOAT.
  22. Then it stays! Or it doesn't, it's your poll do whatever the heck you want with it. It is interesting to think about ranking rides you haven't been on in a while, rides like the Voyage or Hershey Park Wildcat that I've read reports of not aging well. My only experience of those rides is from several years ago when they were newer and still really good so I guess you just have to rank them based on that individual experience.
  23. No. This is not a list of coasters people have ridden this is going to be a poll for the best coasters. A ride that no longer exists cannot be the best coaster because it doesn’t exist so I’m not sure what the point of that would be other than to satisfy someone’s nostalgia for a lost ride and that’s not really what this is about. Again, think about how it would look presenting an award... “Dear Six Flags Over Texas your roller coaster won an award! Oh, but not the current version, the version that was torn down seven years ago...” See how that would sound? Yeah, I get that, make sense. I think I saw Dragons Challenge on the list so may want to remove it unless you want to give Universal an award for a ride they tore down
  24. Is it worth considering defunct rides or rides that have been modified in their original version? Rides like the Dania Beach Hurricane, Hades, old Texas Giant, Eagle Fortress jump out as rides that might legitimately be considered in a top 10,20,50 or whatever but if you want the poll to be just currently existing rides in their current formI totally get that.
  25. Anyone having trouble with the ranking page? The page isn't letting me drag and drop any of the selections to rank them. My top 3 are currently Blue Streak, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, and Corkscrew, that might throw the rankings off a bit.
