I will also be using it as an excuse to drink, perhaps even some Halloween themed beer

I didn't realize this. It's pretty smart since now they won't have to do nearly as much work in the river and I am sure it eased permitting as well. I wonder if Zierer was designed their supports for that section of the ride around the existing bolt patterns on the old BBW footers or if they will have to do some prep work to make theirs fit. I'm not an expert on this type of construction or anything but if they are completely reusing the footers from that section of BBW then it would make sense to make the installation as simple as possible. This ride looks more and more impressive every day, definitely my most anticipated new ride of 2012.

I've carved some cool pumpkins over the years (they probably really suck but I'm proud of them! so keep your insults to a minimum and my feelings will thank you later). Manta Pumpkin, this one kinda sucked, but was a little ambitious in all reality My college mascot, Bid Red from Western Kentucky University, go Tops! Megatron, from Transformers not Calvin Johnson. Might attempt a Calvin Johnson Megatron pumpkin this year "I have been blessed with many things in this life an arm like a damn rocket, a c*ck like a burmese python, and the mind of a f*cking scientist." -Kenny Powers And finally, you wanted the best, you got the best, the hottest Pumpkins in the World, KISS! The best Pumpkin I've ever carved was the Hitchiking Ghosts pumpkin from the Haunted Mansion but I can't find any pictures of it, maybe I'll do it again this year.

Does anyone know if Verbolten is going to be reusing and of the existing structures from Big bad Wolf (Station, transfer shed, those little houses between the first and second lifts), or is the entire attraction completely new from the ground up? Also, has anyone heard any type of estimated number as far as overall cost of the attraction? I'm interested to see the final cost is with all of the themeing, dark rides section, and coaster compared to something like Cheetah Hunt or Darkastle or Griffon.

^ Yeah, 7 and Grown Evil were "okay" in my opinion but Acid Assault was way too spread out to be effective. Other than that yeah the scare zones were very spread out and there were a lot of dead spots in the park in between without any atmosphere. The Canyon of Lost Souls was very dull and Nightmaze was just lame, one of the worst ever.

Europa Park Discussion Thread
Hilltopper39 replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
After this thing opens Europa Park might be my new #1 "I want to go there" park in the world, slightly edging out Fuji-Q, just kidding, but seriously, Europa looks amazing and this coaster looks like it might be one of GCI's best to date! -
Just an observation on this topic, I've always found it odd how Disney parks are almost the complete opposite of almost every other park in the world when it comes to their on-ride photography and loose article policies. They don't care what you film or what your bring on a ride, I'm sure there is a reason that they are so lenient but for being one of the most safety conscience places I've ever worked it is strange that they allow the loose articles the way that they do.

Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread
Hilltopper39 replied to OzCatter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^If this subject offends you then you probably haven't been reading TPR very long..... The Half Pint wrestling show looks awesome, and little attractions like this can make a Halloween event really cool. I wish Universal went out of their way to bring in some weird/different acts like this every now and then. Their event is really starting to get a little stale and predictable from year to year. -
This should be interesting, that section of the park is badly in need of renovation. It has a lot of potential thought, especially if they are going to completely tear down the existing penguin habitat and start from scratch. I sounds like they might have stolen my plans for that area of the park......

Yeah, the Monarch is probably one of if not the worst boats in the RCCL fleet. I've never been on a 7 day cruise (yet) but the three day was nice for us since we were close to the port and could take a short cruise over a long weekend, which is what we did. Don't get me wrong here I had a great time both trips, and I would definitely sail with RCCL again just not on the Monarch. Has anyone here ever sailed with Celebrity? Good, bad, neutral?

I've been on 2 cruises, both 3 days out of Port Canaveral both sailing to Nassau and back both on older ships, one on the RCCL Monarch of the Seas and one on the Carnival Sensation. Comparing those 2 trips only and I will say I had a much better time on the Carnival ship. On RCCL the food was average to bad (everything on Carnival was pretty good to slightly above average but nothing sucked, on RCCL I got a few dishes that were terrible), drinks were much more expensive, our dinner waiter was TERRIBLE (he was so bad that it kind of ruined dinner, and dinner every night was kind of what we looked forward to), the ship was a little less tacky but it wasn't all that interesting, and the state room was incredibly small in comparison to the Carnival room. The only thing better about the RCCL cruise was the day at Coco Cay. Now, I realize that our experience this particular trip was probably not the norm for RCCL, and that on a longer cruise on a much larger newer ship and RCCL probably blows Carnival out of the water but comparing these two 3 day cruises out of Canaveral to Nassau and back on the two different lines and Carnival gets my vote. For my next cruise I really want to try Celebrity, their newer ships look amazing and the prices seem very reasonable in comparison to some of the others ships of similar size and class. Then again maybe I should wait until the reviews of Guy Fierei's burger joint are in before I make my decision.......

The 2011 Halloween Event Superthread!
Hilltopper39 replied to ernierocker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I went to HHN Orlando last weekend and am doing HOS during Busch Gardens Bash next weekend. Horror Nights was an overall fun night even though I felt like the event was weaker than usual (about the same as last year). I may try to hit some local non park haunts this weekend with a slight possibility of maybe trying to do Phobia at Wild Adventures. Really looking forward to HOS next weekend, for the past 3 years I always seem to have more fun at HOS than HHN. The events are somewhat similar while still being very different. Night rides on Kumba make any event an epic success. -

Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
Hilltopper39 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've always wanted to check out a Legoland and it looks like I'll finally get a chance to this Fall or Spring. I've always wondered what the Legoland experience would be like for someone like me who is clearly not the target market (mid twenties, no kids, kind of a thrill ride fan). It looks like a really fun place to spend half a day or so, but I have a feeling I'll visit it once get all of the credits, have a decent time but not have the urge to go back until after I have kids. Then again, it may just be a really fun park that even though it doesn't have any great thrill rides is so much fun that I want to visit a couple times a year? I guess i really just don't know what to expect?. -
Is that a hint at a possible future Florida Domo SeaWorld Bash? Domo is pink and furry, polar bears are furry, polar bears are at Seaworld, Domo's Seaworld Bash?

The official NFL Discussion Thread

I like Tennessee this year and still think they are way undervalued. I've got some money on them to beat Houston for the AFC south this year and every week that bet looks better and better. The week 1 loss to Jacksonville was a fluke, I expect Tennessee to beat them by two touchdowns when they play next in Nashville. I liked Locker in the draft this year a lot more than Gabbert and Ponder but it looks like it may be a few years until we see his potential. The future in Tennessee looks good, if they could only get Chris Johnson to start playing as well as his contract indicates that he should......
