The Tonys presenters and performances were annonced yesterday. Tony Awards 2012 Presenters and Performances Book of Mormon Opens the show, I'll be watching!

That was great, but the sad thing is that if anyone actually wore an outfit like that I wouldn't be that surprised.

I really thought the Celtics were going to win the series last night but Lebron was unbelievable. Now I'd be shocked if they lost in Miami on Saturday. I'm pulling for the Celtics but Miami OKC would be a much more entertaining sereis. All the Lebron haters out there always give me a good laugh, yeah he probably could have handled the whole decision thing a little differently but besides that what has he really done wrong? That's a topic of discussion for a different place and time but as someone who is fairly unbiased towards him it 's amazing the amount of pure hatred that he receives, and all for what? Leaving for green pastures? I am glad that he has more or less fully embraced the role of NBA heel at this point, makes it interesting. Anyways, the playoffs have been a lot of fun to watch so far and I expect the Miami OKC series to be fantastic. It also might set a post season record for amount of ridiculous outfits featuring fake glasses .

I was reading yesterday that Disney raised the price of the Fantasia Gardens Mini Golf by $1.38 to "keep pace with the market", which makes it the most expensive mini golf course in Orlando by eclipsing Universal's new Sci-Fi Drive in mini Golf by fifteen cents. I also read over on my churro enthusiasts forums that due to increasing costs of cinnamon, Universal is raising the price of their churros by .75 cents making their churros the most expensive churros in Orlando....

I hope they use the parade building again, that has been one of the better locations the past couple of years. It is sad to see the Jaws que house go but I'm more sad about there not being any more amazing Jaws night rides . I hope the Bill and Ted Show finally gets back up to par, that show used to be the highlight of the event for me every year but it's been pretty disappointing for me here lately. Seems like between the Hunger Game, Twilight, and The Avengers (and obviously a lot more) there should be some decent source material to work with this year so hopefully the show gets back to where it was. I don't know anything about the Walking Dead but it's seems pretty popular and very well done. There's usually some kind of Zombie House every year anyways so it should fit in nicely. Wonder if they will use any other licensed movies/tv shows themes for houses this year? Any rumors about Rocky Horror possibly returning? My fingers are crossed, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Skycoastin' Steve's 2012 Season Extravaganza!!
Hilltopper39 replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
It really is a beautiful installation. Does that path under the coaster go anywhere, or is it just a big lop/dead end? I know that wasn't there when I was at Hershey last and I'm just curious if it ties in to the main entrance somewhere. The Ride Logo sign looks like it is made out of a football goal post. -

Blasphemy! Other than that, great photos. The new Universal nighttime show does look interesting though. This employee looks like he just got put in time out. -
I'll have to try a brisket again sometime in the next couple of weeks. Brisket is a little tougher to do, I've done a couple before but neither of them turned out very good. Sometime it can be hard to find a good cut of brisket from a regular grocery store, I need to find a good butcher shop and get a whole untrimmed piece and try it again. Tri-tip has been my favorite cut of beef here lately, tri-tips only take about an hour or so to do and has amazing flavor.

Boston might just F* around and win this whole thing, they're playing lights out right now. I'm not a Heat/Lebron hater or anything but it sure seems like there is just something missing with that team. Evan if Bosh was healthy I'm not sure it would matter that much this series. And can we get Rajon Rondo on the Olympic team? That dude is playing better than anyone in the league tight now, and I'd much rather watch him play than Deron Williams or James Harden. The more Wildcats in London the better!

Favorite Water Ride
Hilltopper39 replied to SFMM rocks my socks's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Splash Mountain/Ripsaw Falls/ Popeye are all pretty high in my book although I rank the log fumes higher because I don't always like to get completely soaked on water rides, kidna ruins your day sometime. Some other favorites of mine are Dare Devil Falls and Mountain Slidewinder at Dollywood, Frightful Falls at Holiday World because of that long dark weird tunnel at the beginning, and Dive To Atlantis at Mt. Olympus because even though it sucks really bad it's a credit that I have you probably don't ! Also a shout out to awesome water rides that have been removed, White Water Landing at Cedar Point might have been one of the best traditional log flume rides anywhere and I always love the Kenton Cove Keelboat Canal at Kings Island. The Keelboats were a little different than most log flumes but had a great drop, loved that ride! -
Skycoastin' Steve's 2012 Season Extravaganza!!
Hilltopper39 replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
^ Yeah I see how that could be a complete PAIN for locals, and now that I know that it might cost $20 to drive over and back, I might just settle for the scenic overlook, besides a tunnel is a tunnel right? I never realized there was so much in Ocean City, MD, looks like a pretty decent beach to spend a day at and the credits are a nice bonus! -
Skycoastin' Steve's 2012 Season Extravaganza!!
Hilltopper39 replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel looks awesome and is something I've always wanted to see. I'm seriously considering a trip to Busch gardens Williamsburg and Kings Dominion later this summer and if it happens I'm definitely taking the extra couple of hours to go drive through that thing. -
Voyage's first drop was always very good in the back seat, but I'm gonna throw in a dark horse vote for Kentucky Rumbler's first drop. The curve off of the lift generates enough speed to give an awesome kick of airtime in the back seat and a decent floater though out the rest of the train. I've always that drop (as well as the entire ride for that matter) is very underrated.

^ Yeah, that was kinda of my rational when I decided to get one. I mean a really nice stainless steel gas grill like a Weber Genesis or something will cost you a good $700-$1000. I'm sure one of the nicer gas grills will last longer than a cheap one but for that kind of price there is just so much more the egg (or any kamodo style cooker) can do.
-
The unit itself only comes with the standard porcelain cooking grate but everything else is extra, which kinda sucks but Big Green Egg has a whole catalog full of accessories that are really nice (but can be a little expensive). Here is a link to the Eggcessories on the BGE web site Big Green Egg Eggcessories. You'll want the Big Green Egg brand plate setter to do indirect cooking and pizzas and baking and stuff like that (I think it was around $40-50?),because it is designed to perfectly fit the egg, but other than that the rest of my accessories are cheap generic brand stuff I've found at kitchen stores and Bed Bath and Beyond. For example the Big Green Egg brand pizza stone is about $50, but I use a $15 stone from Bed Bath and Beyond and it works just fine. The V-rack I used to cook the pork butt in was a part of a $10 turkey rack/pan set I got a Walmart around Thanksgiving. It's about like anything else in life, you really get what you pay for. The Egg isn't cheap by any means, but it's a great piece of equipment that should last a lifetime if you take care of it. You should definately look into one when your gas grill finally craps out. Or just get one now and have 2 grills, the more meat you can cook at once the better! I miss the convenience of a gas grill at times, but the Egg is a lot of fun and is so much more versatile.

Hilltopper39 replied to Godwyn's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great report so far, looks like Holiday World is as amazing as ever. I really regret not going to Hollywood Nights at least once all the years I live less than 3 hours away from Holiday World. I know they are completely different but what did you like better, Wildebeest or Mammoth? Just curious, but were there any Q&A session with park management, and if so did anyone ask about Bluegrass Boardwalk? -
Ghost Town In The Sky Discussion Thread
Hilltopper39 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, I agree, as long as all of the witches in Asheville don't boycott the place . -
Are they not doing the Kinetics Show (or whatever it was called last year)? I was pretty impressed with that, and very surprised at how good it was. I went in not really expecting much but ended up having great time watching that show, and even thought it was good enough to warrant a return trip to the Summer Nights Event this year, but I guess not. Yeah the Water Park after dark event does sound cool, I've always wondered why no water parks in the Orlando area have ever tried to host an after hours or separate ticket event, especially at Disney. You know if they held a Pirates Splash and Slide party or whatever at Typhoon Lagoon the Disney nerds would jump all over it.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Hilltopper39 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree, it is a little weird the way that the information got leaked, however at this point in time though I would say that if it is a coaster they are building a major new coaster for 2013 the bulk of their plans are probably finalized. Some minor changes to theme, style, or the surrounding area might be made but if it's any type of new coaster I'd bet it's already signed, sealed, partially paid for and in some stage of production somewhere. While I doubt they are using public opinion about the "leaked" plans to finalize the project, they may be intentionally "leaking" plans for a wing coaster but in reality be building a wooden coaster (or a zac spin, or a flyer, or a euro fighter, or a spinning aquatrax, or whatever) instead. I've had a few conversations with park Representatives in the past and I specifically remember one conversation about leaked plans and according to the Director of Engineering of a major theme park in the south, plans for new attractions don't EVER get leaked unless they want them to get leaked for some reason. So either Cedar Point is trying create a little buzz about their new ride, or they're trying to throw us nerds off the scent, either way until there is an official announcement we'll never know! -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Hilltopper39 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Agree, I think it will be a fantastic location for an attraction and really could be an iconic ride for the park. Without any details yet, that section that appears to be in the "parking lot" may turn out to be an entirely new in park plaza with shopping, dining, a flat rides, erc and maybe space for future expansion. I kinda feel like B&M at this point is is just starting to scratch the surface with the potential of the wing rider coasters, and if any park is going to get deluxe version of that concept it's going to be Cedar Point. Should be an interesting project to follow for the next year. -
Pretty interesting article there by Ed Hart, does raise a few questions about the history of this project. I agree with most of his points, except I have to think that the team that won the bid to operate the park (Holiday Workd/Kochs) had the places best interest in mind all along. Well see what ends up happening with this place, but after these recent reports of the existing condition of the property I can't get my hopes too high.
