^Yeah, I agree but it is pretty hard to even consider stretching it to a game 7 if you can finish it in 5 or 6., why even give Denver a chance to win one game for a chance to advance? My prediction is Lakers in 6, and a great series with the Thunder to follow.
-
^That's assuming the Lakers can get by the Thunder! Last week I would have said the Thunder would win that series in 6 but I'm not so sure now. If Bynum keeps playing out of his mind they can beat anybody.

The Tuto Gusto Wine Cellar looks fantastic, I can't wait to check it out next time I'm in town. Was the Tutto Gusto a new building or did they just re purpose some existing space from the old Tutto Italia? Now that I think about it I don't think I've ever eaten at Tutto Italia before, I just need to spend a whole day eating at all 3 places in the Italian Pavilion.

^^yeah, those were pretty my thoughts as well, the section after the drop track looked very dull even for a kiddie coaster especially compared to the first half of the ride. If it is the "dark ride" like section like on The Dragon it seems a little out of place being at the end of the ride. Still looks like a great addition to the park, and the surrounding area looks very nice. When this thin was originally announced I was kind of imaging the drop section to be more like a frog hopper type track section thing and not just one small drop. I thought this would be like a frig hopper like sequence, and Verbolten's section be a little more intense like a mini tower of terror sequence. Does anyone know if the drop section hardware is the same on this and Verbolten, or are the two sections completely different in size and capabilities?

Not doubting the length of the recovery, but ACL tears these days aren't nearly as bad as they used to be. It might be a little soon to say that he'll never have that extra gear again, Wes Welker tore his ACL a few years ago and seems to be every bitas quick now as he was before. Rose will be fine. I wonder how this affects the Olympic team this summer. Last week Jerry Colangelo had said that they were not going to add any new players to the roster after Dwight Howard's injury, but now with Rose out (and Chauncey Billups too?) I wonder if he will reconsider. If you are reading this Jerry, bring on Anthony Davis!(last I checked Jerry Colangelo was a TPR forum member).

^You would think that with all of the 3D Modeling that designers do these days with Autocad and Solidworks or whatever other software they use now it would be fairly easy to make some "accurate" concept artwork using drawings and images from the design software. It's been a while since I did any 3D modeling but i remember it being pretty easy to take a screen shot of something in Solidworks and open it in paint to create "photoshoped" image. A professional graphic artist could probably open those same images in their professional editing software and create a really nice concept art in a short amount of time. Glad to see this project on track, for me this was one of the more interesting announcements of 2012 and honestly I had kind of forgotten about until now. Can't wait to see this thing in action.

Looks like a great addition for Legoland's audience, but I will say that the section after the drop looked pretty dull compared to the beginning of the ride. I obviously haven't been on it so I don't know how it rides in person but in the POV video it looks like the thing barely crawls back to the station compared to the beginning of the ride which looks to have a really nice speed and pacing for a family coaster. I'm curious if the drop track section can be updated later to have a different drop sequence. I assume that track section is the same hardware that is going to be used on Verbolten, and I remember seeing a video on Verbolten that had the drop section testing in a factory setting that had a longer more exciting drop sequence. I know this thing isn't supposed to be Tower of Terror but it would cool if they could had a little something to that section sometime in the future. Themeing issues aside that everyone has already mentioned this looks like an excellent addition to Legoland and I hope a new version of the Polar-XPlorer attraction eventually get built stateside. I could see a swamp themed version working well at Legoland Florida!

Yeah I'm sure people are stupid enough to do that, but remember Disney is probably one of the only parks in the world that lets you bring darn near anything you want on to just about every ride, back packs, shopping bags, pin lanyards, hats, cameras, phones, anything. If they let you set a backpack on the floor I can't imagine a pair of plastic 3-D glasses being a deal breaker, if the concept were feasible.
-
^Yeah, I considered that but even though it's 65 mph it's not really that intense, it doesn't have any super sharp turns or airtime hills that would throw the glasses off of your face. The cars have those windshields on the front row that deflect most of the wind over your head anyways. I would bet that you could wear a pair of regular 3D glasses on test track without them falling off, no prblem. They probably won't use 3D, but I think it could work, and could be kind of cool. Maybe that will be part of the Test Track 3.0 upgrades in 2027, sponsored by Kia.

Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
Hilltopper39 replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I haven't followed this thread very carefully so forgive me if this has been previously answered, but why did B&M go back with their "old school" Speed Coaster trains for Leviathan? As funky as the new trains are I kind of like them. Wonder if there was a reason for the decision either cost or engineering. -
^Wow! I go to Savannah for work a lot and have always been tempted to take one of those ghosts tours but haven't gotten around to it yet. I've done similar tours in New Orleans and in St. Augustine, the New Orleans tour was awesome and the St. Augustine tour was awful. Ive never had any personal experiences with Ghosts, but totally believe that they exists in some way shape or form.

Shane's Amusement Attic
Hilltopper39 replied to montezooma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice update Shane, as a child I was fascinated by Elitch Gardens. I had an old VHS roller coaster tape that showed a little bit of footage of the Twister (not a full POV like the rest of the rides on the tape) and it looked the most terrifying wooden coaster ever built to my 8 year old eyes. The original Mister Twister is always in my top 5 wish I could have ridden that before it was demolished coasters. Oh and your water parks looks great, if i ever make it out to Utah I'd love to spend some time there. -

^^ I don't know, something seems a little off when the Patriots let you go in the prime of your career and the Eagles trade you for a 7th round pick, not saying he's not a great player (he is) but why does he keep wearing out his welcome everywhere he goes? Maybe it's all about money, but I don't think it is. ^Whoever they draft, the Bills are shaping up to be next year's Lions. I like some of the pieces they have and think they might have a nice year. Doesn't help to play in the same division with the Patriots and Jets but the Jets are on a bit of a slide lately. Other than the Steelers, Ravens, Patriots and maybe Texans the rest of the AFC gets real average real fast AFC, if Buffalo can win a few big games they might have a shot at the second wild card. Then again they are still Buffalo..... no offense -
^ Music appreciation was a B**** at my college too! Everyone at my school kind of blacklisted Music appreciation as difficult and art and theater appreciation as being much easier for that type of class requirement. As sad as it is your GPA can greatly depend on the professors you get. There was nothing that pissed me off more than getting a really good and challenging professor that I had to bust my ass for to make a solid B or an A, and my room mates would take the same course with a different professor and have a cake walk to an easy A every time. It's not fair but it's the way it is. With that being said, I always asked around other students and advisers to get recommendations on who take to for different courses . Not necessarily to get the easiest instructor but to get someone who was at least fair, and considerate and good at what they did. I would advise anyone to do the same if at all possible. I played football in college so amongst the team and our academic advisers staff we had a pretty good record of which professors on campus to avoid at all costs, but getting a recommendation from anyone is certainly helpful!

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Hilltopper39 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, I did a little research and camp sites in the Cedar Point Camper Village are anywhere from $70-$100 a night depending on the day of the week and time of year etc. With rates like that the profits must justify the existence especially considering everyone staying there likely has a ticket package as well, pretty steep for a camp site but it is awfully convenient. I guess they can just build a coaster around and over the camp sites if they really need to (or in Dragster's infield ). -

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Hilltopper39 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wonder how much money Cedar Point makes off of their campground, not the rental cabins but the camping sites themselves. I'm sure those sites are VERY popular in the summer and I bet they are fairly pricey compared to a "normal" campground (or camp sites not on park property) but regardless of how much money they currently make off of those sites I would think that they could make a lot more money off of that land if it were utilized differently (new resort hotel, expand the water park/amusement park, etc.). Then again there is probably a reason that they have kept the campsites all of these years. Would be interesting to see how much money the camp sites make compared to the other hotels on the island. -

For the right price Cedar Point could build anything they want wherever they want to on that island. I'm tentatively planning a 2013 trip there and can't wait to see what they have planned.
