  1. Looks great! I had a feeling this might end up being somewhat of a surprise hit of the season and the reviews thus far seem to back that up! Looks like the perfect family coaster, perfect size, speed intensity, and seems like people had much more realistic expectations of this before opening (unlike some other "family" coasters that have recently opened). Great job Sea World.
  2. Is Skyrush considered a "wing coaster"?
  3. This thing looks great, but imagine how awesome it would be without those trims
  4. Thanks, and I really hope you're right. That said, all of this has gotten me dieting. It really is funny how certain people with different body shapes fit on rides from different manufacturers. I used to work in operations at a couple different parks and I have seen gigantic "overweight" people fit into the same restraints that a very fit muscular person didn't fit into. Personally I'm around 6'1"-6'2" and currently pushing every bit of 260-270 lbs (I'm as fat as I've ever been in my life). I've got a little muscle mass left over from my playing days but I'm pretty much built like a 3rd base coach now, yet I've never been turned down from a ride. I've successfully ridden B&M's, Intamins, GCI's, and PTC's all within the past 8 months. Point is everyone is different, and it's impossible to predict who will fit on certain rides and who won't, just make sure you try the test seat before you get in lines.
  5. I've never been a huge fan of Guinness but was pretty impressed with the Guinness Black Lager that's been out for a little while now, pretty decent.
  6. Is there any chance they would re locate Disaster Transport to a different Cedar Fair Park instead of scraping it entirely? I could see that ride working fairly well at a park like Michigans Adventure or Worlds of Fun maybe.
  7. Loved you commentary on the POV Chuck, thanks for you're amazing coverage of this project from day 1, It's been a lot of fun to follow from demolition of BBW to opening day! This attraction looks fantastic, it might not be a top 10 coaster for most enthusiasts but looks like an amazing ride for most guests! Well done Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Sea World Parks and Entertainment !
  8. Every skip the line system out there has flaws, Fast Lane, Q-Bot, Quick Que, Flash pass, even Fast Pass at Disney doesn't work ideally for every attraction all the time. This is a NEW system that Cedar Point has attempted to implement, and like any new operation policy at any business in the world, I'm sure there will be a certain period of test and adjust that occurs until they find the right formula that works. I'm glad parks are attempting to give guests different options on how to enjoy their day, and while while most of the negative feedback from non-users is justified and understandable from their point of view Cedar Point should still be applauded for having the onions to attempt a system like this in the first place knowing ahead of time that there would be a massive amount of negative feedback from new customers, old customers, and season pass holders a like (they had to know people would complain). Love Fast lane or hate it give Cedar Point some credit for attempting it. In the mean while just give them some time, they'll figure it out, in 5 years no one will remember that FL used to not exist.
  9. I don't remember Uncle Bernie's being in the middle of a parking lot?
  10. Does anyone know if they are limiting the number of Fast Lanes they sell per day? This may still be something they have to test and adjust throughout the summer on really busy days but it will be interesting to see if they ever sell out. I know at Seaworld and Busch Gardens they use a similar system and do limit the number of passes they sell per day presumably to keep the stand by line from getting out of control on capacity days (the parks are different so it's completely different all together). Saying that the line was twice as long because of Fast Lane is a gross execration, a few minutes longer? Maybe. Twice as long? Ridiculous . This is America, if you don't want to wait, you can always buy your way to the front of the line.
  11. That's really cool, I'd love to work there (who wouldn't).
  12. Adding an "...ie" to the end of a coaster is reserved only for Cedar Point coasters. Maggie Millie Draggie Mavie I always thought Millennium Force should be nick named Milf, in which case Nessie and Milf would be the only acceptible coaster nick names in the world.
  13. ^Not EVERYTHING, but I wouldn't mind watching her do a few things.... ^^I didn't care that much for Batman Forever but I kind of liked Batman and Robin, thought George Clooney was a better Batman than most people gave him credit for (at least a better Bruce Wayne). While we're on Batman I'm probably also in the minority of people who liked Batman Begins better than The Dark Knight. Rocky Horror Picture Show is another movie that is more or less loved or hated. I know most people on here are probably big fans but I'd bet you if you asked 100 random people their opinions on the movie you'd find far more haters than lovers.
  14. I'll go with 1. Raptor Cedar Point 2. Montu BGT 3. Dueling Dragons IOA 4. Batman (any) 5. After Deck Top Burn Flight Gun at Carowinds
  15. Even though it was fairly poorly reviewed and not really liked by anyone I know outside the state of Kentucky I always loved the movie Elizabethtown with Kirsten Dunst and Orlando Bloom directed by Cameron Crowe. A lot of it was filmed in my home town and I even have some friends that are extras in a few scenes, but being from Kentucky there are a lot of very authentic little touches to the movie that really make any Kentuckian miss home. By hometown bias aside I always thought it was a pretty decent movie with a great soundtrack and a lot of really memorable scenes and characters, never quite understood why it was so poorly received. The scene where Drew Baylor finally arrives in "Elizabethtown" (actually Versailles, KY), just about brings a tear to my eye every time I watch it because it feels exactly how I feel when I drive into town after being away for a while. Probably gonna have to watch it tonight.
  16. Unbelievable trip report man, I really enjoy your stuff here. Norway looks great, can't wait to visit one of these days.
  17. Wow, that's pretty cool that hey could add a semi-head chopper to the first drop on Dragon Khan, and as always fantastic footage. How does Dragon Khan compare to Kumba, other than being darn near identical in layout? Which ride do you prefer? I love Kumba and consistently put it in my top 10 have never been on Dragon Khan, anyone who has ridden both care to share their thoughts?
  18. ^Oh I agree, and the openness of the trains should make the ride experience incredible, but I was referring more to the exposed hydraulic cylinders and the all welds that are showing, they just look a little "exposed". Some color variation probably would have helped quite a bit too.
  19. I can't decide if I like the look of these trains or not, I'm sure they're ride like a dream but it almost feels like something is missing. They almost look unfinished, which they still might be. It's not that big of a deal and I'm sure the ride will still be unbelievable.
  20. ^And my memory serves me correctly Before After
  21. That slide looks awesome. It's amazing how much the foliage around that park has grown in. Seems like I remember seeing construction pics of that place and it looked like they were building slides on a hill in a sand dune, and now it looks like a jungle! Looks like a great park.
