  1. ...but the park eventually closed after a few years because the GP lost interest in it due to never getting any exciting new rides. Darien Lake sat dormant for 10 years, until it was reopened by...
  2. Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Hollywood was a pleasant surprise for me. I had not watched any POV of it before riding it, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I ended up enjoying it. The launch took me by surprise, it had some relatively forceful turns and curves, and the backwards section was interesting too. It is a bit on the short side, but I liked it nonetheless. I had heard some decent praise for American Eagle at SFGAm, but I found it to be a bumpy and rather uninteresting ride. Not really a bad ride, but it just didn't do anything for me.
  3. I've gone through Vegas, but never stopped in it, so... False? The person below me has a Cedar Fair park as their home park.
  4. Then I might have a reason to visit Darien Lake someday. What if Cedar Point was a Six Flags park?
  5. I was just thinking about possible places for future expansion, and I remember a lot of us saying that the area behind High Roller is where a new roller coaster should go. Well, when riding High Roller back in October, I realized that a portion of Dinosaurs Alive goes behind High Roller, and, I'm not completely sure of this, but I think they built a permanent Haunt structure back there, and the gap between High Roller and those areas is very small, so we can pretty much count that area out as possible expansion land (at least until Dinosaurs Alive goes). Just thought I'd put that out there. Now, my guess is that the 2016/2017 coaster will probably take over the part of the parking lot near Steel Venom, or it will be slightly to the right of Renegade (which would require the relocation of a few of those buildings back there).
  6. Both have Vekoma Junior Coasters. Castles N' Coasters and Adventureland (Iowa).
  7. Air - Alton Towers
  8. I generally go to Valleyfair about 10 to 12 times a year. I unfortunately don't live close the Twin Cities, so I'm not able to go as often as most other VF enthusiasts seem to. During the the summer months, I try to go on weekdays, but still go on weekends sometimes, and in September and October, it's usually on Sundays. I also have Nickelodeon Universe as a secondary home park, but I just go once or twice a year during winter since they only have a few rides worth coming for, and I'm busier with other stuff during the winter.
  9. ...sent him China and forced him to marathon a Chinese Knockoff SLC for 24 hours, which resulted in...
  10. Both have ACE Coaster Classic wooden coasters. Holiday World and Carowinds.
  11. ...doing everything possible to get the g-force laws repealed. At the same time, some sneakier enthusiasts snuck into the park's at night and attempted to sabotage all trim brakes on all coasters. They were successful in repealing the G-force laws, but as for the trim brake sabotagers...
  12. I would love to see The Boss get turned into Iron Boss, but I just unfortunately don't see it happening for reasons others have stated. Besides, maybe Screamin' Eagle could potentially get the RMC treatment because I can see plenty of potential for RMC to turn that coaster into an amazing one.
  13. Winter has arrived in Minnesota. We received several inches of snow on Wednesday, and it was -10 degrees on Thanksgiving morning. This horrible weather has kicked my offseason coaster withdrawal into full gear, and I still have over 5.5 months until Valleyfair opens .
  14. Granted, but just once, then never again. I wish Black Friday shopping wasn't so crowded.
  15. I haven't ridden it yet, but I'd probably choose El Toro because I always hear about how the airtime on that ride is like getting thrown off a bull. Plus, based on the POV it looks like it has lots of postive-Gs and twistiness too.
  16. ...the queue line you're in stays at a complete standstill for 15 minutes. ...you have to wait an hour to use a single rider line. ...the train that you're riding in is wrapped in strange colors advertising the dumbest of things.
  17. I'm thankful for having Valleyfair and Nickeloden Universe as my home parks, especially Nickeloden Universe since it lets me have an offseason coaster fix so I don't have to go a whole half-year without going on a coaster . I'm also thankful for TPR for being a great coaster/park website. Last but not least, I'm thankful for roller coasters and parks in general.
  18. Saw this comment on a CoasterForce POV of V2 at SFGAm: how are they on it if the tracks are up side down
  19. The Universal parks are obviously going to be the ones benefiting the most from Jurassic World because Universal is making the movie, and those parks have Jurassic Park themed rides and areas. That being said, I still think Valleyfair and the other Cedar Fair parks' Dinosaurs Alive attractions will probably get a boost in visitors because of Jurassic World.
  20. My last new credit was Demon at Six Flags Great America. It's an interesting old Arrow with some cool parts to it, but it's pretty rough .
  21. Whatever it was, it is now gone, and they are doing more digging and work in that area.
  22. Just checked the webcam and it looks like they have some footers for the slide tower in place as shown below. I also wonder what this thing is that sticks out of the ground where the splash pad is going.
  23. Raging Bull has a slight B&M rattle throughout the ride. It's not painful, but it is noticeable and slightly irritating. I personally find the rattle more annoying than the trims. Also, something must have happened to Kraken since I last rode it because I rode Kraken a bunch of times and never noticed a rattle.
  24. ^ Considering all that I've heard about Timber Wolf being a back-breaker, it would be the perfect coaster for Cedar Fair to try out RMC. I guess it is possible that it could be just topper track as opposed to a complete I-box transformation. Either one would make this ride much better. All things considered, this probably wouldn't happen until 2017, but I could be wrong.
