The webcam angle shifted down a bit, and it shows more of the area where the splash pad is going. I wonder if this means we'll see more work in that area soon. Edit: Never mind, this is probably why...

Yep, this bickering is starting to get old. I feel like lot of enthusiasts are setting the bar way too high when it comes to new ride expectations. Just because this coaster is a clone (which really isn't that common) doesn't mean it can't potentially be great. Even if BGW was getting a clone of El Toro or Outlaw Run, I'm sure there would still be plenty of complaining.

Yeah, I don't get why people have such a big problem with clones when they're good rides. I'd understand the complaining if BGW was getting a low-quality clone like a Boomerang or a Volare, but from what I've heard, S:UF at SFDK is a great ride, and I'm sure that this coaster will be great too. After all, isn't that really all that matters?

It's pretty much been confirmed that it's leaving based on some info I read on the City of Shakopee website. I hope that they can preserve the old sign in some way (maybe some museum could get it). I'm sure the new sign will look a lot more modern, and will have the new logo.

^ Same here. I always choose the Space Shot side since it has airtime and is fun, while the Turbo Drop towers, other than provide a good view, don't do anything for me.

The only coaster I have greyed out on is Kraken, and it was while going into the Immelmann loop. I think it's weird that it's the only moment that has made me grey out because Kraken's Immelmann is far from the most intense element I've experienced (I rode Manta a bunch of times and never greyed out in the pretzel loop) .

Plus, even though Valleyfair does get flooded often, it generally happens when the snow melts in the early spring before the park opens for the season, so it doesn't regularly affect normal park operations. This year, it was caused by the unusually rainy June. Since park flooding mid-season doesn't happen that often, I don't see a need to raise the flood berms anytime soon. Also, if any of you have driven by the park since it closed, what's the situation with the old sign? Have they removed it yet, or is it still there?

Granted, but the coaster ends up being a forceless bore. I wish more people would post in the Valleyfair thread.

Most of my family and a few close friends know that I'm into coasters and parks, but for the most part, being a coaster enthusiast is sort of a secret identity. If I do talk about coasters with others, I won't go into too much detail. Even at a park, because of how I act, you probably wouldn't be able to tell that I'm a coaster nerd. Also, I don't wear my coaster shirts to parks, just around the house. I'm not embarrassed about being an enthusiast, I just don't want to commit social suicide.

I like your thinking, but unfortunately, Valleyfair/Cedar Fair doesn't own all of that land shown. If they turned some of that land they own right next to the entrance into a parking lot, and they used the area with the cones that valleyfairfanatic reported for new park additions, maybe that could work. Although, that would be an awfully long walk for anyone parking in that theoretical new parking lot.

Even though a Windseeker would be a really cool addition to Valleyfair, I highly doubt it will happen because we all know about the reliability issues they've had at other Cedar Fair parks. A Windseeker would give some great views of the park and the Minnesota River Valley, but I unfortunately don't see it happening unless Mondial can work out the kinks on the Windseekers. Also, the spot where the new slides are going has been flattened out. Hopefully that means we'll see some actual construction soon.

^ Well, this is Six Flags we're talking about, so no surprise to me. On the bright side, I really think this ride will be loads of fun. Yeah, it's not the most unique coaster concept, but it will be quite thrilling, that's for sure. If it is successful, I hope we can see more S&S Free Fly coasters pop up at other parks.

2) Well, Ripcord is an upcharge attraction, and I'm sure the park appreciates the extra money they make off of it, but removing it might be a possibility since it isn't that popular (at least from what I've seen). I don't see anywhere where they could relocate it, and even if they could, I think it would be a waste of time and money. I like Ripcord, so I'd be disappointed if it was removed, but wouldn't be devastated about it either. 3) No official name that I know of, but I personally call it "Lake Corkscrew". 4) I think that RipTide is probably going to keep the water element because it is always advertised as one of the cool-down rides for hot days. Plus, the ride logo and paint scheme has the water/wave theming in it, and with no water, that basically defeats the purpose of the theming. Besides, if you strongly prefer to ride it without getting wet, they do run it without the water on colder days in September and October. 5) Hopefully sometime soon. It is just stitting there wasting land that could be used for an awesome flat ride or something else more interesting. The amphitheater has been out of code for the past several years, and revamping it would be a waste of money in my opinion.

B&M - Kraken Intamin - Steel Venom (VF)

Granted, but as soon as you take your seat, it breaks down. I wish most Six Flags parks would actually care about customer service.

Sorry if this seems random, and it's a while out, but I decided I'm going to take a spin on Looping Starship next season just so I can say I've ridden it. Is it really as bad as everyone says it is? Also, how would rate how uncomfortable it is compared to Excalibur?

Fury 325 - Carowinds

When I was 14, Dragon Challenge (Red) was the coaster that made me start loving coasters, but I have to attribute Manta and Kraken as the two coasters that really kicked off my interest. I find it funny how I went from being deathly afraid of big coasters to not getting enough of them in just one day .

^ I think it's probably just the lighting of the video because I can't see why they'd give Iron Dragon orange-ish supports when it's going to be right next to a big orange coaster.
