  1. Demon isn't that bad as long as you lean your head forward a little.
  2. Granted, but Cedar Fair soon closes Darien Lake and gives its rides to the other parks. I wish for short lines and no breakdowns at Kings Island tomorrow.
  3. Granted, but this means that you will fail the class. I wish to see Jurassic World this weekend.
  4. Yep, it's sad that the park is going downhill in terms of operations and customer experience. I visited Six Flags Great America in 2013 and 2014, and while I had a great time on the rides, the operations were noticeably slower in 2014. Batman: The Ride was running two trains during my last visit, but the operations were so slow that you'd think that they were only running one train. Goliath was also constantly stacking, which really isn't acceptable for a ride that had a three-hour wait time posted. If the park was under better management, hopefully it would be a much nicer overall experience.
  5. Corkscrew at Valleyfair, yesterday.
  6. ^ When I rode the slides yesterday, it was about 66 degrees and overcast, but the water park has heated water, so I wasn't cold at all. I guess it depends on your tolerances for the weather, but I was perfectly comfortable wearing a swimsuit in that weather.
  7. Had a great day at Valleyfair today. It was quite crowded early in the day, but got better when most of the school groups left. Finally had a chance to ride the new water slides, and I thought they were awesome. Breakers Pipeline was my first experience with trapdoor waterslides, and I was impressed. The sensation of the floor dropping out from underneath is very interesting. Breakers Plunge was also very fun, I especially enjoyed the freefall sensation. My favorite was the trapdoor slide with the helix because that turn was quite intense. I would equate it's intensity to Steel Venom's 3rd launch through the station. The splashdowns on all of the slides were a bit rough on the back, although this roughness is water-induced and there is no headbanging. I personally think the walk to the top is worse than the roughness . Overall, they're great slides, and a good addition to the park. Now for some pictures... The entrance sign for the slides. Shot of the whole slide tower. Another shot. The Barefoot Beach sign and the adjacent Minute Maid stand. It looks a lot better in person than in pictures, and it's a good improvement over the other one. Splash Station was fenced off... ...as was Panic Falls. Not sure if this means anything though. Another first for me was walking through Dinosaurs Alive (only reason I did it was because of the long lines for everything else and it was free with my season pass). It wasn't a complete waste of time, but I'm still hoping that these Dinos are doomed soon. Also thought it was interesting that there was a Millennium Force POV playing on FunTV. Until then I had only seen VF POVs being shown.
  8. Today is the most crowded day at Valleyfair I've seen in a while (lots of last day of school trips I assume). Believe it or not, Excalibur's line is actually using the switchbacks. Earlier today, I took my first rides on Breakers Pipeline and Breakers Plunge, both of which were awesome but a little rough on the splashdown. I'll provide a more in-depth review later on. Excalibur's relatively long line.
  9. Not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but does anyone know if you're allowed to use a Platinum Pass at multiple parks in one day? On one of the days of my coaster trip next week, I'd like to spend to a few hours at Kings Island in the morning, drive up to Sandusky in the afternoon, then spend a few hours at Cedar Point in the evening. Is this possible, or would I have to choose one or the other?
  10. Looks like some people are already out to save Excalibur.
  11. Excalibur isn't that bad. It has some jerky moments, but nothing brutal or painful in my opinion. That being said, I'm not that sad to see it go. These plans for the back of the park are a sign that there are some bigger plans for the future because a park wouldn't invest a lot of money into these infrastructure improvements and then leave it as is.
  12. I wouldn't call Excalibur a family coaster because it has a few fairly intense moments. Plus, it's probably going to be scrapped once it is removed.
  13. I'd assume that Excalibur will be headed for the junkyard once it is removed, although there was a park in Italy that bought SkyRider (the 30-year-old Togo standup at Canada's Wonderland), so you never know.
  14. I have no idea how much the new parking lots and new employee road will cost, but I think this means we shouldn't expect anything too major for 2016. Maybe they could get a small addition like Larson Flyers or some other small flat ride, but I don't think a second waterpark expansion or a new coaster are possibilities. I could be wrong though, they might surprise us.
  15. I wonder if they have any plans for developing this yellow area I drew in because it seems like they're planning for the new employee access road to be longer than it needs to.
  16. If this is indeed Excalibur's final season (I'd assume it is since it says "2015 - Expansion" in the bottom right corner) I will miss it a little bit because it is certainly a unique ride despite it's jerkiness. However, I'm more excited about what this means for the future because an infrastructure improvement of this size signals to me that something good is coming. I will be at the park later this week, and I'll report on anything new that I see.
  17. ...you'vs ever imagined a coaster layout that goes from your home to work/school.
  18. If you're visiting before June 19th, the Everyone Pays Kids Price deal is only $32. Otherwise, there's a $35 weekday ticket, or the Cub Foods ticket ($37).
  19. I also received that email, but they must have just reused the same email from last year because the dates are wrong. EDIT: Never mind, they just sent out an email with the corrected dates.
  20. Fairly Odd Coaster at Nickelodeon Universe was a pleasant surprise for me. I really wasn't expecting much, but it had some decent forces and a few airtime pops. Not an amazing ride by any means, but much better than I thought it would be.
  21. Just wondering, has the park been offering the double rides on American Eagle they had advertised earlier on their social media pages? If so, how much of an impact is it having on capacity?
  22. Tightening the seat belt as much as possible sounds like it would make the airtime more painful, but since it's working for the rest of you, I guess I'll try it on my upcoming trip. To any park locals, would it be worth getting Fast Lane Plus on Thursday, June 11th?
  23. Perhaps they want to widen the midway path?
  24. Valleyfair on Thursday, then going to Ohio the week after for Cedar Point and Kings Island.
