  1. Not too surprising. The park really has nothing to 'show off' or really exciting to see so why bother. This is what happens when CF keeps treating VF like the red headed step child of the family. I do like the updated CF site though. I wouldn't be worried about that video because it probably doesn't mean anything about the park's future. At least Valleyfair wasn't the only park left out.
  2. Granted, but you must pay for the bus to pass those stops. I wish for coaster season to start already.
  3. I personally think Michigan's Adventure is more likely to get a coaster than those other parks because MiA along with Cedar Point are the only parks where I've seen/heard decent evidence of a possible coaster (MiA GM hinting at major capital), whereas the rumors for the other parks are enthusiast optimism for the most part.
  4. ...when you hurt your back, your first concern is "When can I ride coasters again?"
  5. ^ From what I researched, Coaster Craze was normally held in late July. I wouldn't count it out just yet because there's plenty of time for them to announce it.
  6. Not really a fan of the new logo, but the new website does look significantly better than the old one in my opinion.
  7. More dumb Facebook comments about Fury 325 getting stuck on the lift hill. -They will end up doing away with that ride before the end of the season -One huge expensive dangerous mistake. Somebody's going to get killed. -3 times in one week?? WHY is it still open?? Close the ride and maybe attempt ti fix it for once. -People stop making excuses for this ride! Hellooooooooooo! Shut this B---- down and work the KINKS out. The first Family that loses a family member to this ride will shut it down for them. Hell the kinks should be gone by now???????????? -What its gonna take someone getting hurt or dieing? Close it down! New or not -People are ignorant to keep getting back on it! -What if they got stuck upside down...then what? They need to shut it down until they fix this problem that keeps occurring. Not safe at all. -Some day its going to fly off the track and kill everyone on it -im so serious...if I hear ONE MORE TIME that Fury 325 got stuck AGAIN...im going to have someone drive me to carowinds and Im going to go to whowever runs carowinds and or the stupid ride and say "ya'll need to get this ride working. aint nobody gonna ride it no more if it keeps stopping" Get that sh** under control!!! Why, humanity?!
  8. For anyone that's interested, the 2015 Live Entertainment lineup has been posted on the park website. Looks pretty similar to last year. https://www.valleyfair.com/things-to-do/entertainment
  9. Hmm... I guess it could possibly mean something, but all of the Cedar Fair parks have one of these as the background for their season pass advertisements, and most of them have something that isn't quite right. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
  10. I don't think it means anything. It's probably supposed to be Corkscrew in its old color scheme. None of these pictures for any of the parks are completely accurate. As for what I think the park could really use, I think dippindotsguy8's list is spot on. A new Flume would be a smart move since there are always lots of comments on VF's Facebook page saying "bring back the Flume!" However, I feel it would only pay homage to the original if it's in a wooded area like the old Flume was. Removing Thunder Canyon seems like the only way they could do that.
  11. Valleyfair on opening weekend. Only 3 weeks left .
  12. These are some steep drops... Photos from Dave Frazier. Mad Mouse test run. Nice to see the park coming back to life.
  13. ^ Yes, I'd heard the Trololo song before, but it just seems like an odd choice of background music for that particular video. It's almost like Worlds of Fun is trolling us. I'm with everyone on that WOF could use some sort of launched coaster, as it would really round out their coaster lineup. Not so sure they'll get any sort of launched B&M, but something from Premier Rides would likely go over well (though that probably wouldn't happen either).
  14. ^ Dorney Park removed their Top Spin earlier this offseason, so it's definitely possible that RipTide might be on its way out in the next 5 years or so. Plus, Top Spins have their fair share of reliability problems (RipTide didn't open until June last season), and I've never seen it have more than a three-cycle wait.
  15. Just curious, what's the name of the website where I can find these trademark filings? (Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question.)
  16. Worlds of Fun recently posted this YouTube video of some in-park footage from Opening Day, and the background music choice is, well, interesting...
  17. Thunderbird is the top trend on Twitter right now.
  18. ^ While a B&M hyper/giga at SWO would be great, I'm not so sure it's going to happen since SeaWorld isn't in the best financial shape right now.
  19. According to these Facebook comments, Fury 325 getting stopped on the lift hill automatically makes it unsafe. -3 strikes you're out. Time to shut Carowinds down for maintenance and inspection. -at least they weren't stuck upside down. -I think Carowinds had better recheck all their rides...this is happening too often...and summer hasn't come yet when the droves of people visit the park, -Carowinds safety has went down after the state stopped doing inspections. Its like they don't care now. -Mine was another one. The harness come open when going around on the flip of the coaster. -Another disaster waiting to happen....sad -It sounds like Carowinds installed this ride, along with other rides, that were not accurately assessed for its safety. -Here is the thing everyone saying it was a sensor no big deal and every ride won't always be on point. Here is the issue its brand new it should not have break downs or issues in its first month the of operation no matter how minor -It's why I never go on coasters. -Just call it death ride 2015.
  20. This is why The Weather Channel needs to stick to weather. That could quite possibly be the absolute worst ride-related list I have ever seen.
  21. I think Valleyfair's next coaster could possibly be red because that seems to be a popular color choice among Cedar Fair parks, but as long as it's a fun ride, I honestly don't care what color it is.
  22. As amazing as that would be, Cedar Fair has basically dropped Intamin as a manufacturer (at least for now), and even though Valleyfair was noted as a "growth park", I would expect the maximum price tag for a coaster to be about $15 million. It would be nice if they spent more than that, but I wouldn't count on it.
  23. ^ When Valleyfair eventually gets a dark ride, I think they will remove the amphitheater and create a new building for the dark ride there. The bumper car and Zombie High buildings don't look like they'd be big enough to house a dark ride. Here are few general improvement pictures from Dave Frazier. The lazy river is getting new paint. The new paths in front of the slide tower. High Roller is getting a new queue line.
  24. On second thought, I guess they might not put a new entrance at that corner after all because they are using some of the walkway space there for landscaping (I think that's what it is), plus all of the good points made above. Even though I'm all for landscaping, it seems like this could slow down visitor traffic even more.
