  1. Looks like High Roller has received a lot of retracking towards the end of the ride. Looking good. Photos from VF’s Twitter.
  2. I was at the park last week to drop off some work papers and I can confirm after seeing the area with my own eyes that RipTide has indeed been removed. R.I.P. RipTide. Also saw that the BDB (associate cafeteria) is getting a facelift. Photo from VF's Twitter.
  3. Whoops, forgot to put a question in that time. When was the last time you ate at Arby's?
  4. Granted, now there's more traffic everywhere else you go besides Boston. I wish the food served at my college's cafeteria was better.
  5. About three weeks ago, El Loco at the Adventuredome.
  6. Question for anyone who works at Cedar Point that might know about this. There's a chance I might apply for a rides job at Cedar Point this summer. Does anyone know if spots in associate housing are still available at Cedar Point, and if so, how fast does it fill up? Technically, I'm already onboard to work at Valleyfair this summer, but I found out yesterday that they might not have room for me in VF housing, which is a deal breaker for me because I live too far away from the park to commute back and forth every day. Just want to see if Cedar Point could be an option in case Valleyfair doesn't work out.
  7. YouTube. Golf or bowling?
  8. Granted, Kennywood receives RMC's first kiddie coaster. I wish for the rest of the offseason to go by fast.
  9. At the Adventuredome about two weeks ago, the ride crews for the two coasters (El Loco and Canyon Blaster) were operating very efficiently. They almost always dispatched trains in a minute or less unless a guest was causing a holdup.
  10. El Loco at the Adventuredome on Sunday last week.
  11. Never so far. When was the last time you had to had to wake up before 4 am?
  12. Granted, but now several other rides at Thorpe Park will close. I wish I could make time go faster and/or slower.
  13. Quick question to anyone here that works at Cedar Point (or anyone that's been in this situation), I'll be visiting the park for a few days in early June and I'll be getting free admission since I'm a Cedar Fair employee. Will my associate ID allow me in the park for early entry at 9am like the platinum passholders and hotel guests or not?
  14. ^ If that rumor is true, I also have no problem with it. Dinosaurs Alive (right next to current Panda Express) sounds like it might be on its way out either this year or next year, having the Dinos and Panda Express gone/relocated would open a lot of land for a new attraction there.
  15. I already reserved a room at the Super 8 Mason (nonrefundable) for my KI visit in early June, though that was before reading the reviews on here. Is it really as bad as everyone says it is? Personally, I'm not very high-maintenance when it comes to where I sleep. As long as I have a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in, I'm good.
  16. A few friends/acquaintances have told me that they can no longer see RipTide while driving by the park so I’m going to assume the removal news is true for now. If it means anything, except for RipTide and SuperCat, every other ride in the park was given a pre-recorded safety spiel last year (including the kiddie rides in Planet Snoopy), so I wonder if that means SuperCat might be next on the chopping block.
  17. Granted, they build all of them at Magic Mountain. I wish I wasn't so tired all the time.
  18. Looks like Mall of America could potentially be adding a water park to the mall. http://www.startribune.com/mall-of-america-pitches-adding-massive-water-park-that-city-would-own-finance/476117443/
  19. Just got back from a weekend trip to Las Vegas and had a great time visiting the Adventuredome and the other area attractions for the first time. The Adventuredome was overall very good for an indoor park. It’s quite impressive how they were able to fit all of those rides and attractions into a five-acre space. I enjoyed both of the park’s roller coasters, particularly El Loco. This ride really impressed me with how intense it was with its great ejector air, funky outward banking, and lengthy hangtime. Favorite coaster of the trip for sure, and I wish more smaller parks would build coasters like El Loco. Canyon Blaster was very good for an Arrow looper, probably my second favorite of this kind behind Tennessee Tornado. Loops were fun, the double corkscrew isn’t too jarring, and the helix had some nice force to it. As for flats, I rode Choas, Slighshot, Disk’O, and Inverter, the first three were all enjoyable fun, while Inverter wasn’t so good due to the extremely tight restraints. Aside from rides I didn’t do much else in the park, but the other guests seemed to be enjoying the games and other activities. I also have to compliment the park’s ride operators on their excellent operations, especially on the coasters. They wasted no time on getting riders through, and usually dispatched trains in a minute or less. I also ventured down to New York New York to ride the Big Apple Coaster. I was completely aware of the near-universal hate for this ride and therefore went in expecting to hate it, but after riding it, I honestly didn't think it was that bad. Granted, I was riding it defensively in the front row, but I didn't experience much head-banging, and there were a few elements that I found enjoyable. I still think the price tag of $15 was a bit high for what I got though. All in all, it isn't exactly a good/great coaster, but I've ridden much worse. I was able to ride X-Scream and Big Shot at the Stratosphere (Insanity was closed for high winds). X-Scream had me scared for a second when the car approached the end of the track, especially since I was in the front row, and Big Shot was essentially the same as every other S&S Space Shot I've ridden, just 900 feet in the air (though the ejector air pop at the top was a nice surprise). Additionally, I was able to experience the Stratosphere SkyJump, which was very expensive but worth it in the end. Getting to jump off a building 855 feet down to the ground is an amazing exhilarating experience that I'll never forget. Overall I had a fantastic time in Vegas, and I look forward to returning sometime in the near future.
  20. I’m not seeing RipTide on the mobile website either. I’d heard rumors of a RipTide removal last year but nothing official, so who knows, maybe it is on its way out?
  21. Here’s the Canyon Blaster control panel from the Adventuredome.
  22. The Big Apple Coaster at New York New York in Las Vegas. Call me crazy but I thought it was a halfway decent ride.
  23. Canyon Blaster at the Adventuredome, pretty good for an Arrow.
  24. Delirious has gone vertical. Photo from Brad Marcy's Twitter. Edit/bump: That was fast, it’s been topped off. Photo from VF’s Twitter.
