  1. You sir, are a genius. (Sad to hear that it wasn't all that great though.) It was something I'd seen done before (along with cheese curds) and wanted to try it myself. I'm sure it would be better on better quality beef.
  2. Really? A holding brake? Yes, Intamin Impulses are gimmicky to a fault, but they're awesome. And that nut-shattering holding break is the best gimmick and very few still operate that way. -Noise complaints prohibit the B&M roar on Talon and Hydra -Knoebels is spitting distance away -Hersheypark is spitting distance away -Kennywood, while not exactly spitting distance, is still a day trip away. -Since it's part of a chain, there's a lot to compare it to. Unfortunately Dorney drew the short end of the stick and gets compared to Cedar Point. CP is getting enthusiast nirvana while DP is getting...a restaurant in the waterpark. But I'm still looking forward to my potential first trip to the park next year.
  3. Be sure to get on Dueling Dragons before it closes forever. Ah, it'll be relocated and will open in another park shortly.
  4. A good cure for Monday: bad decisions. Mozzarella sticks on my college meal plan burger. An interesting combination, but not worth doing again.
  5. ^Slightly surprised it's being moved before the season is over. It won't take long to complete either project, even with Minnesota winters--just look at how fast North Star went up.
  6. I love those laser effect style rooms. A few years ago, I worked a contact haunt that had this style of room. So our actor would just sit in the fog below the laser line and grab peoples legs. But the real question: has the park released James Monroe Iglehart's demon song yet?!
  7. I'm more curious as to what the shed will have in store.
  8. There's got to be something in the cheese.
  9. I had this thought too. It actually reminds me a lot of the original Bat at Kings Island since the turns themselves are completely un-banked which leads to much more violent swinging. I'd say it looks like Bat 1.0 had sex with a wild mouse and this is the offspring. I'd love to see a version come to the states. Will it? Not likely.
  10. A guy did it at the S&S tower I was operating for about 10 seconds before realizing.
  11. HOLY FOTHERMUCKING DONKEYSH!T James Monroe Iglehart is doing a recording for Cedar Fair!!!! I got to see him in Aladdin when it was still in previews on Broadway and I fell absolutely in love with him as the Genie. He almost did a better job than Robin Williams . I hope the song is a cover of the Scooby-Doo sounding cheesefest from the
  12. All this bee talk got me like
  13. Absolutely, positively. Very disappointing if that's gone; one of the highlights of a top-quality haunted house. As a haunter who has worked this style of room before, I take this as a personal offense if true.
  14. That "Catawampus" is actually Log Bunny. From my understanding, someone found an oddly shaped log and put a pair of bunny ears on it and it's been an Easter egg in Terror Tram since.
  15. I noticed quite a few screamsters socializing with each other more than they were "acting" which I would imagine is part of getting to know how things go on the first night. There were a few that were very enthusiastic and active, but the general mood seemed like they were only paying attention to 10-20% of the crowd. A trick I used at HHN last year: walk alone and feign fear. I got targeted a lot more that way. But never expect to get every scare. Scare acting is exhausting both physically and mentally. Staying in character is tough with all the drunks and kids screaming back at you. Many scare actors target those who they think will give them the best reactions. It's the payoff as much as the payout.
  16. $6.50 for a 1/4lb of bacon at an amusement park? This makes me all the more excited for my trip next year.
  17. Visit Dorney before Knoebels. You won't be as disappointed. FTFY
  18. How'd you get to do the Mystery Mine maintenance tour? VIP tour? Or was it just something they were doing?
  19. The Berserkers tent is pretty permanent and not easily dissasembled. My opinion on those locations for a haunt attraction is that they are too "out in the open" and very blatant for the summer season leading to lots of confused guests asking how to get on "that ride" -All permanent haunt locations are used primarily as haunt storage in not-haunt season. And they were built in backstage areas/areas that are not otherwise accessible to guests and likely will build no more as Chateau du Damne's old location is now a bar and The Asylum went the way of the dodo because of the fustercluck that was the PR of Fear VR/Zombie bumper cars. So that's potentially two places to add new mazes without constructing permanent structures where they could potentially add new season-long attractions. -Dinos Alive/Haunt Alley is built on the old picnic grounds. -Dino Slaughter sucked all kinds of from both guests and actors from what I've heard. Dinos could be a cool maze/scare zone if they themed it to a mad scientist's time travel experiment and had actors dressed from all periods do the scaring. -Several guests ask what the permanent haunts are as the facades stay in place all year. Other than that, an interesting thing to note is that Dark Harvest is just a relocated/renamed Hellside Farm--previously located in Soak City. Could this possibly have something to do with the eventual Soak City expansions we're all expecting? But then again, Hellside has had numerous locations since its inception so it could just be another location experiment by the park.
  20. My Zen ride on Valleyfair's Renegade about a month ago:
  21. It's essentially the Orlando area on weed, meth, and heroin.
