  1. I think the raceway is staying open which is why they updated the website. Or it could be they didn't actually 100% decide to close yet.
  2. I don't think either are that bad but I have only been on one of each (Python at Ocean City, NJ and Great Noreaster at Morey's). On the Pinfari, I don't think it's really rough if you sit in the last row. The OTSR's can sometimes hurt though.
  3. I hope it at least is there until the end of the year, I still want to try and get the credit before it leaves (since it seems doubtful it will be relocated). I know it will never happen for many reasons but it would be cool if they did put it in Sesame Place since it could be considered a good starter coater for someone wanting to try a coaster with inversions, and Sesame Place could use some more rides for days when it's too cold for the water slides/rides (which are the main attraction in the park)
  4. I think their next coaster will be a smaller coaster, something like a family coaster. I'm kind of surprised they got rid of Wild Maus and just didn't relocate it somewhere else in the park because all 4 coasters they have now seem like thrill coasters (maybe not to an enthusisast, but to a regular person, they see it as 2 coasters that have inversions, a giant coaster [Apollo] and Big Bad Wolf appears to be thrilling for a suspended). Although not as bad, the same problem was at BGT 10 years ago. I remember visiting 10 years ago and EVERY coaster they had had inversions (Kumba, Montu, Python, Scorpion) which I think is kind of strange.
  5. I agree, gate prices and season passes shouldn't be so similar. At least with Dorney where the gate price during peak season is $36.99, you have to go 3 times for the season pass to be worth it unlike at Six Flags where it seems like the season pass price is less than 2 tickets purchased at gate price.
  6. I just sent my complaint letter. I'm not posting it either for the same reason. I hope they listen.
  7. Maybe they can get the Looney Tunes characters if Six Flags gets rid of them from their parks.
  8. I think Vekoma is worse although I really don't hate Arrow or Vekoma rides. The roughest coaster I have ever been on is a Boomerang so that's why I chose Vekoma.
  9. Nice photos. I like the old paint color of the Great Noreaster better but I guess tan is ok as well. Ocean City is the same way with the boardwalk dead. Other than 1 arcade, I don't think anything on the boardwalk there is open year around. I can't wait until Morey's opens up again, I was there last August and Great White was awesome and although I wasn't expecting to based on what I heard about SLC's, I liked the Great Noreaster as well.
  10. That's what I was afraid of
  11. Rectangle, I hate when a park makes you drive one way and not allow head on collisions
  12. I thought it was going to Six Flags America (hasn't that what has been speculated for weeks?)
  13. $59.99 for a one day pass is way too much. I know there are discounts available but a gate price for $59.99 for any Six Flags park is just way too much IMO.
  14. Nice photos. Whoever made that Yoshi for the fun house must have never seen what he really looks like. His stomach looks like an alligator's stomach!
  15. That seems to be happening with all the recent park purchases with Cedar Fair. They are doing the same thing with Dorney. Taking away so much that was classic to the park (rides, buildings and atmosphere). I hate that no re-ride policy as well. It just doesn't make sense, I know their reasoning is that if they let some people re-ride, others will complain they didn't get a chance to if their row had people in it but I think re-rides should be allowed on a day by day basis. Maybe a rule if the train is less than 1/2 full, allow re-rides or something like that.
  16. --Your 2005 year in review: Went to Ocean City, NJ (Playland and Gillian's) multiple times, Dorney once, Hershey twice and Morey's once. It was a big coaster year for me because I had a lot of firsts: First invert, First B&M, First Floorless, First coaster with an inversion other than a loop, First Boomerang etc. --Your first coaster of the year: Flitzer at Playland --Your last coaster of the year: SooperDooperLooper at Hershey --Best new steel to me: Talon --Best new wood to me: Great White --Best new water ride to me: Zoom Phloom at Morey's --Best new dark ride/walk through to me: Alien ride at Gillian's (only new dark ride I went on this year) --Best new park to me: Morey's Piers --Best park "moment" of the year: Pulling into the parking lot at Dorney in September and seeing the parking lot had maybe 300 cars in it. --Best overall park "trip" of the year: October 30th trip to Hershey where no coaster had more than a 10 minute wait --Worst new attraction (any kind) to me of the year: Sea Serpent (Boomerang) at Morey's --Favorite TPR post/thread of the year: The Asia trip thread --Best Amusement related news of the year: New Dark Ride for Hershey --Worst Amusement related news of the year: Astroworld Closing --Hopes for 2006: Finally getting to Cedar Point. Getting the credits I missed at Hershey, Dorney and Morey's Piers.
  17. I wish Gold Q-Bots at Great Adventure were that cheap. For 1 person it's $68, 2 people $101, 3 people $134 etc.
  18. When I was there 2 years ago during that same week, the only machine that I saw all day that had passes available was for Terminator. Everything else was gone for the day and that was at around 10:00 a.m. (when I got to the park). Based on that, it sounds like the free pases were very limited anyway so I can understand if they did get rid of them.
  19. Wow, I didn't realize the admission was so expensive to begin with (for my last 3 vists to WDW I had an annual pass) but $67 (with tax) for 1 day admission to WDW. That seems ridiculous.
  20. That is horrible that he said that. Obviously if they offer a single rider line there are going to be people in that line who aren't with anyone else they know and be alone. I hope he gets fired (but I doubt it).
  21. I like the ride the way it is but I can see why they want to update it. They said the ending will be different which I understand since it's kind of plain and boring with those pictures of people enjoying Hershey products.
  22. I consider MAXAir to be a thrill ride. Same with Apollo's Chariot. What I consider a family ride to be is a ride that can be enjoyed by almost anyone, such as the new dark ride, the antique and sports cars, kissing tower, monorail, train etc.
  23. The thing that concerns me about the Blue Shark is that it's a MyMyBox pad. I know their older metal pads were horrible. It looks interesting and I hope it does last for years like the Cobalt Flux does.
  24. Extreme 2 and Ultramix 2 have different songlists I think Cobalt Flux is the next best thing to having an arcade pad or machine in your house. Yeah the arcade pad is better but there is only 1 pad that's just as good, the official Konamistyle Arcade Style DDR pad, only 1000 made and it cost around $2000!, pictures and info here: http://psx.ign.com/articles/085/085395p1.html I tried for a while to buy an arcade machine but they are way out of my price range so I settled on a Japanese PS2 and a Cobalt Flux combination (because I hated how all my favorite songs from the arcade mixes were constantly being left out of the US games and it gave me a chance to try other music games from Konami like Pop N Music, Guitar Freaks, Keyboardmania etc. which Konami refuses to release here). I used to be really obsessed with DDR (have 23 games including 3 versions for Gameboy Color with a dance pad for the Gameboy Color that fits over the system for your fingers), but I lost interest in the series since Konami stopped releasing arcade versions of the game.
