  1. I have been playing for almost 4 1/2 years (seriously playing for 3 years). I can play most songs on Heavy but the only 10 footer I can clear so far is Bag. I have DDR for almost every system including N64 and Gameboy. The pad I use is the Cobalt Flux metal pad.
  2. IMO, Donkey Konga is just a simplified version of Taiko (since Namco also made Donkey Konga). It is almost too easy with even the top difficulty being possible to clear right away on most songs. It's fun but I regret buying it.
  3. The problem with IOA is that there seems to only be 2 types of coasters, family/kiddie coasters and thrilling coasters with nothing inbetween. If possible, I would try to get to another park like BGT and try some of the intermediate coasters like Python and Scorpion. That way, you can start with less intense rides and work your way up to the bigger rides.
  4. No one in my family likes coasters but they like going to parks. It's a shame because I hate going on coasters by myself and I am always a single rider because of it. My friends aren't into coasters really either. They will go on coasters like when we were on our class trip at WDW we went on Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain but they aren't the type of people that go to parks a lot if at all generally. I brought up Kingda Ka to one of my friends in the spring seeing how he would react and his response was basically, "Oh sounds interesting, I don't really care about parks and rollercoasters anymore"
  5. Parks I will definetly be visting: Dorney Hershey Wildwood/Morey's Piers Playland (Ocean City, NJ) Gillian's Wonderland Pier (Ocean City, NJ) Parks I might visit: SF Great Adventure Busch Gardens Williamsburg I also hope that I am able take a PA road trip (I have never been to a park in PA west of Hershey) and go to a lot of the western PA parks like Kennywood and go to Ohio and finally get to Cedar Point.
  6. Anaheim Angels. I would like to see someone else besides the usual teams win. And I really didn't have much of a preference after yesterday after the Phillies missed the playoffs by 1 game so I really don't want to see Houston or Atlanta win
  7. 14, I had been on some kiddie and family coasters before then like a Zamperla Dragon but I first went on the Comet at Hersheypark when I was 14 and that ride really got me interested in roller coasters
  8. Same with me, I was there in 1996 and all I went on was Scooby's Ghoster Coaster. I remember looking at the Bat and Vortex and thinking, "You have to be crazy to go on a ride like that." Now I would ride both without a problem.
  9. That video was great. Sounds like some of the ops are on a power trip with the camera issue. I understand that if park policy says no cameras then they felt it was neccessary to say something but to have someone follow you and then tell ops at other rides really sounds ridiculous.
  10. Sesame Place about 30 minutes away. Closest "real" park is Dorney Park about 50 minutes away.
  11. No, I sometimes feel a little nervous if I am going on something new like when I was on my first invert (which was a SLC) but I don't scream
  12. I got 3 rides on the Comet at Hersheypark. They were closing and we were the last train for the night and they said we could stay on for 2 extra rides if we wanted. At Dorney I should have been able to re-ride as much as I wanted because not only was my row empty 90% of the time on Hydra and Talon but most times the trains were less than 1/3 full. Unfortunately, they weren't allowing re-rides. I didn't blame the ops as they sounded like they wouldn't have cared but it sounded like it was a Dorney Park or Cedar Fair policy. Kind of annoying considering they were just sending out the rows empty anyway.
  13. I enjoyed the ride enough to go on 4 times when I was there 1 1/2 weeks ago. I haven't been on any other floorless coasters so I can't compare it to another floorless but I sort of liked the forcelessness of the ride. In the past month I started to try out more thrilling coasters (before August 2005, the most intense coaster I had been on was Loch Ness Monster). I don't think I would have liked it as much if it really had a lot of forces like the earlier B&M coasters supposedly have.
  14. That is cool, I hope more parks start selling them.
  15. I think it was mentioned on a Great Adventure site that the reason why it works better now is because the ride had to have some modification done to it and in NJ, something along the lines of the park not being able to make those modifications without the manufacturer's permission but that wasn't the case when it was moved so SFStl.
  16. Stores are still selling the uncensored version. I see it all the time at FYE. It's just behind the register and you have to show ID showing you are 18 or older to purchase it. I think EB also has it but you also have to specifically ask for it and show ID as well.
  17. That's exactly how I feel about PA. Other than the parks, it's a boring state (at least in the eastern part).
  18. Tron or Discs of Tron
  19. I agree. With some parks it doesn't matter if you just run through and get the credits while at others, it isn't the greatest. For example, I had no problem running through Wildwood in 3 hours, getting on all the coasters I was able to and a few dark rides (3 hours including walking between all 3 piers). There isn't much atmosphere there and after the wristband expired, I could walk the boardwalk. But at a park like Hershey, I would hate to have to rush through and just go on the coasters and leave.
  20. I think you really need a whole day at Hershey since there is a lot to do both in and out of the park. Besides all the rides in the park, there is also Chocolate World with the dark ride tour (free admission). I don't think you need a whole day at Dorney. I spent less than 5 hours at Dorney, got on all the major coasters except the Wild Mouse and got 4 rides each on Talon and Hydra. Plus I did some flats and other rides. The only reason to spend a whole day at Dorney is if you are going to Wildwater Kingdom as well.
  21. Yeah, Hydra never seemed to have much interest with anyone after it opened. I was at Dorney last Sunday and despite the fact that the park was dead with Talon and Hydra being walkons, there were times where there was less than 8 people on the entire train on Hydra. I realize that due to the lack of crowds, there wouldn't be any wait but for a brand new coaster that just opened up a little over 4 months ago (from when I visited), to have trains less than 1/3 full, really says something about how people feel about the ride.
  22. Probably no costume for me this year. I had the idea of dressing up as Rage (a character from DDR) for the past few years but I figured no one would know who it was so I didn't bother.
  23. Wasn't there also speculation that the track wasn't built wide enough to support enough weight for 2 people to ride? Would capacity really have been that bad if there were supposedly 52 (forget if that is the exact number or not) cars. 52 cars could probably allow 80 or so people on the ride at once (given that there would be some single riders) which seems like a much higher capacity than the Flyers even with the ride on McBean's being longer.
