  1. Crowdfunding has become more and more popular over the years. Music, film, video game, new concepts... It's everywhere! So it was a matter of time before the theme park industry jumps in the bandwagon! Le Fleury is a very small amusement park located in France (North). Well, it's more like a recreational center with a campsite, water activities, farm animals and of course, a few attractions. They opened an Enterprise last year ("Le Graviti"), and they now clearly want to develop the rides and thrill activities. Even with all the will in the world, a new ride cost a lot of money, and the small park simply can't afford it all on their own. That's why crowdfunding was put in the equation. Here is the new ride they want to buy: A 7m (23ft) jump tower by Preston&Barberi: It will be themed as a carrot, since the park's mascott is a rabbit named Fleurby. (Yes it's a concept-art ) They also made a diagram of what the attraction cost for each part: -32 000 € for the ride itself -4 500 € for the transport -3 000 € for the groundwork and montage -6 400 € of taxes And now, here is the page where you can donate money at your will, via the plateform Kisskissbankbank: Donate Note that this topic is as much for helping the park than for the solely fun-fact that it's the first time crowdfunding is used for a new attraction. I'm not begging for you to donate money -I know most of you probably have little to no interest in this park- yet if you will I'm sure it'll be appreciated. You can have your name on a plate at the bottom of the ride in honor to all donators. I will, as I was the very first one to donate. What is your opinion about that? Good or bad idea? Do you see larger parks doing it in the future?
  2. Yes but you flip like 10+ times and dont even know youre on a track so it should be much worth it A MCBR as on zac-spins could have been appreciable, though. It lengthen the ride-time without making it too intense, plus it builds anticipation for the second part.
  3. Tires means faster motion, means less time lost on the brakes, means more capacity, I guess.
  4. It's still laking the first heartline roll (and a tiny piece before the final brakes), and then it'll be completed.
  5. No, I rode it a bunch of time during my two days, and I always had some vibrations, sometimes more intense than others, though. Had the same problem with Alpina Blitz, but Blue Fire is butter smooth.
  6. I rode it last September and it definitely had vibrations. Glad they took care of it!
  7. Did you know that idea was actually first introduced on... a Pinfari Wacky Worm in 1981? Big Apple - Luna Park I too think is a great idea (I used it in one of my concept), yet I think it's very complex - just as the overall ride actually. Walibi is taking a huge bet with that, while the crowd is only asking for a true, good, fun, reliable and re-rideable coaster. But if it works, it'll be fun, for sure.
  8. Uh yeah, of course. I saw that in a wrong way. Thanks for the insight.
  9. Fluch Von Novgrod has such marks as well. But - is that me or a piece of wood is floating in mid-air? The one in-bewteen the two hands.
  10. New bits of informations appeared today, and those are far more believable than the previous ones, in which the so-called "Parc Spirou" looked rubbish, un-professionnal and utopic. Now, I even might say that... this is somehow... appealing, coaster-wise. Is Spirou popular out-here? Not that much here in France, at least among the youth. The park is going to buy a lot of Zierer. You can spot a bunch of their flat-rides (Star-Shape, jet-ski...) and three coasters. A revamped Force 2 (n°6), a 2-trains Elevated Seating Coaster (n°1), and a Tower Coaster, probably a clone of Impulse (n°16). Other interesting rides are the Immersive Tunnel, the same thing as the one that opened in Movie Park (n°17) ; another ride that is still a mystery but that will produce up to 5g and be prohibited under 1m30 (n°3) ; and the car track (n°2) is rumored to have 100 animatronics, special effects and surprises... It'll be the iconic ride of the park. The two paths that you can see at the top of the map will eventually lead to the extensions which will open in a later date. (As seen on CoastersWorld.fr)
  11. That extra support was for building purposes only (the lift is an arch, and an arch can't stand on its own until is completed), so I see no reason to leave it for testing.
  12. Stakotra build tracks for Intamin, Maurer, Gertslauer, Zamperla... They are not new to the business. But here, there are only building the supports, aren't they? The track work is left to OCEM?
  13. Seats are black with an orange harness. The white parts are dummies I guess.
  14. It'll ride much better according to Alan Schilke, and he does make a point: On the Intamin version, the pivot point is behind your back, which means the rotations throw you outward, and that s very uncomfortable. On the Free Spin, the center of rotation is a little toward you. Such as the heartline, it'll make the spins more fluid and comfortable.
  15. Knock-off or genuine Zamperla? I heard the knock-off versions have a stronger launch.
  16. That! Since I often go to parks alone, I often have an empty seat next to me. I usually lower its harness (after being sure that nobody would come in) and buckle the seat belt.
  17. These kind of actuated brakes are usually placed after a row of permanent magnet fins. See: Superman/Bizarro failed because the brake run was very short and was (almost) solely constitued of moveable magnets. Hope Intamin learned their lesson. Retractable magnets make the train go quicker to the station (increasing capacity). Or in the case of a tire-driven mechanism as on the B&M invert, it reduces the effort the tire's motor has to produce to propel the train. The more speed you have, the more powerful the braking force is. Try to propulse a train while being engaged in a magnet..! The train is then stopped by tires in the station in case of the invert.
  18. That's what I thought at first as well, but actually it's not. See the differences:
  19. ^ Good call, I think you're right. So back to square one. Karnan will have an indoor heartline roll and hopefully a bunch of airtime hills, but not these inversions.
  20. I think OCEM mixed up feet and meters... So it's more like 110ft and 102ft, which are respectively 33m and 31m.
  21. New bits of informations coming from OCEM Structural Steelwork, and this is rather surprising! Thanks to din4112 from Ameworld.net for this amazing discovery. Although, beware of the "110m tall" announcement, maybe it's an error of translation.
  22. Looks like a Zamperla Motocoaster to me. I bet on something themed on some mystical creatures, or horses...
  23. Seeing how the lift was aligned with the drop's exit shaft, we were expecting to see such a curve. Nice to see the actual track though, thanks for posting these photos here!
