  1. To sum up: This one will have one train with three cars, and Zombie will have two trains of two cars each.
  2. Talking about expensive theming..? (Source: LagoonIsFun) It's the waterfall display, in which the helix will go in and out.
  3. Here are the latest images of the theming, for you TPJunkie. Thanks to LagoonisFun. Here is the final helix, which looks very great and I'm sure will lead to some serious g's! And from Lagoon's Facebook page, we got this picture of a new intriguing track piece. We all are assuming this will be some sort of trim brakes, but the fact is those are actually LSMs. Trims are copper-colored fins (look at the one on the drop), those are bigger white electromagnets. Plus you can spot the electrical armors underneath the track, and a guide-rail for sensors.
  4. So did I! It actually looks pretty much like an element I made on NL in 2013, from the general idea and shape, down the the brakes that are going up the half-loop.
  5. ^ About PM's stops, that's something that happens quite often sadly, I don't really know why. The Cast Members might uses the e-stop button too much, instead of quielty slowing down the ride. I agree that ruins everything! As for BTM, that was something envisaged indeed, but WDI said a big NO to that (phew...). That was at a time DLP hadn't money and wanted to find cheap solutions. Now that WDI injected a lot of money to the resort, they'll do something better. The loco is iconic and is part of the storyline, you simply can't throw it off!
  6. Looopings.nl posted two images of what could be the new ride in Walibi Belgium in 2016. It's a "Splash Boomerang", a new kind of ride by Mack Rides. This would features two boats of 20 passengers (5 rows of 4 places) with a rotating platform to load one when the other is running. I think it's really weird and I fail to catch the real interest of it. Plus the capacity is damn low (about 500pph) and it's a prototype... Vertigo, much. Well, Mack Rides knows what he's doing, and I hope to be proven wrong. I wonder if the white shapes above the tree line represent tunnels or noise-barriers.
  7. We're still hoping for the new trains to make their debut in 2015, but that's not a sure thing at all... This refurb is mostly focused on painting the dome, adding a single-rider queue, working on the process and restoring some special effects, but sadly not so much toward the ride comfort. About Big Thunder Mountain, rumors has it that we'll receive the new explosion mapping effect that was added in California. In fact, it has been invented for our BTM, they has even been tested out (if you turn around in the Lift C you can see squares holes in the mountain, mean for projectors), but as we had no money, they decided to do it in California instead. But hopefully that refurb will make this ride more reliable, as it is a nightmare right now. This will include adding a car to each train (as it's the fifth train that causes most of the 101, due to the short dispatching time allowed. So they'll add a car on each trains to compensate the lose of the fifth train), reworking some portions to accommodate the longer trains, and maybe adding another block-zone before the Lift C (=enlarging the turn over the water and adding some meters of flat track). Peter Pan is also rumored to go under a major refurb in one time or another. Complete change of track, interactive queue, new animatronics and mapping effects, same as those which will be introduced in the US soon. (All these bits of information thanks to ED92.org)
  8. It's actually a bit like Kanonen's heartline roll entrance: Those laterals are unnoticeable once onboard, because they are "natural". As for Cannibal, they'll be higher for sure due to the rotational forces, but it should be fine I guess. Note that the NoLimits recreation is a little bit exaggerated on here, it should be more straight.
  9. I think so, RCDB isn't usually full of GP.
  10. I can confirm the layout has been designed by Joe Draves (instead of Schilke, though they're from the same company), as he stated on his personnal Facebook. (hey, FB suggest me to add Joe as a friend, you know, in the "You might know..." heading )
  11. No layout annoucement yet, but a new recap video of the lift's supports being installed:
  12. I'm still believing this was a marketing move. I mean, the clearence tests are made before the dummy sessions, aren't they?
  13. Yeah of course there is no point of comparison between those rides. But that argument is actually legit, even if less significant for the most of us.
  14. Some people enjoy strange sensations. Don't we all love near-misses and head/footchoppers elements?
  15. ^^ Intense also means impressive and scary. Only the enthusiasts use the term intense as the amount of g+ and high g variations in a ride.
  16. We have a glimpse of a new ride from Mack coming in Asia, maybe it's this one?
  17. Thanks for the reply! That's a pretty cool fun fact. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBauzzrohUo Oh yeah, I recognize TGG's airtimes!
  18. ^ What he said. The french fan website is most likely the excellent Potionmagix.fr, but as it requires a login to see the retracking topic, I'll link to another french forum where the pics were shared: See the topic. Though as I said, Potionmagix.fr is really a wonderful website about the Park Asterix, because the webmaster is a maintenance employee and he does a lot of great videos: like some drone views, original POVs (under a train, underwater on a logflume, etc), or shots from unusual point of views (exterior of a mad-house, under the tea-cup floor...), or even some step-by-step explanations on how to start a ride in the morning, such as the Mack Bobsleigh or Oziris. Including complete POV of a train from the garage to the layout to the station. So in my opinion it is worth to register, even if everything is indeed in french and not the french you learn at school (plus many cultural references you might miss).
  19. "Le Défi de César" is what you're looking for. I quite like the preshows and queue theming, but I personally think the mad-house part is the worst ever, because the effect is totally ruined by the screens (it defeats the purpose of a mad-house!!), and it only rolls in one direction (and I hate 1D). About Goudurix, it has been partially retracked (the butterfly, first two inversions) because the TUV asked it. But I heard it was still as unpleasant as before. The park initially planned a Phase two, which was about the batwing, but canceled it. Budget? Unsatisfying results with Phase one?...
  20. I don't understand - on Polar Express the movie?
  21. DLP also turned an Intamin into crap!
  22. Well, that's a Force 190... There are five coasters sharing that layout.
  23. If there is one thing to know about B&M, is that they don't care what is the trend and what other manufacturers do.
  24. Great Bear is modern art. (RCDB) I hope the two preshows rumor is true, it can turns out to be a very immersive ride.
  25. A quote I found earlier while wandering through this thread (page 42) : Well, happy now? This is just beautiful I can't help but post all the pictures from Lagoon's FB page:
