Parc Asterix Discussion Thread

^ Potionmagix has closed down for good... Panoramix, the webmaster, doesn't work there anymore. -- Well, here is a 360° POV of Goudurix and Oziris! (<- see what I did there? He is rolling 360°...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDcbc1tAneQ You have to go on Youtube though to get the controls and not a flat rendering (Chrome only). Edit: It's not my video but Giroptic's. -

Nor are Dragon Challenge, Hulk, or Fligh Of the Hippogriff. Only Disney has 100% themed coasters. -

Ha sorry for the confusion Nrthwnd, anyways, _koppen made it clear, that area was already filled with water with the jet-ski and its surrounding (that's what I meant) and I see no reason for it to change, hopefully. That means an underwater tunnel after the dive loop, yay! Y'all talking about the looping, but that airtime hill that then twist itself like a non-inverting loop is going to be crazy! -

The flat ride is a Zierer Jet ski, so it was already in the water. Gerstlauer Facebook (via CoastersWorld.fr) -

Check the webcams when the sun is up again, and see how the track wraps around the bridge (shared by the flume, however the two rides will not interact directly it seems)! That loop is really round, and that is indeed a non-inverted dive loop too. Webcam 1 Webcam 2 -

This is looking really amazing! By the way, did you noticed they built two supports facing the wrong way at first? (now fixed) Wrong way: (Coasterfriends.de) This second picture is took at the other side. Spot the support with the part that sticks out. Right way: (Hapaforum) -

I really like that kind of picture, when the track is tilted but the horizon still flat! (I like it so much I once made a stabilized POV!) Thanks for posting. -

It's twice the size of Lynet! 40m vs. 20m. Taller than Anubis and Karacho too. If I'm not mistaking it's the third tallest Gerstlauer, after Kanran and Takabisha. -
^ Look at the non-inverted loop supports. Different on Tempesto than on the other models. Stretched ride indeed. Actually, I think the complain for it being a clone is not that you can already ride it on two differents locations already ; those are indeed far apart so it's not a problem. But -to me at least-, it's more like a lack of reflexion from Busch Gardens. They choosed a ride from a catalogue, bam, done. That's a bit easy for a park that otherwise is very original and uses its setting very well (yet Griffon is almost a clone too). About the harness, they said in the video that it was for comfort only and did not mentioned any disabled people access... So was that only a rumor?

Yep, just like Spiderman, DarKastle and the others. The "multi-DOF" refers to the motion platform, not the (lack of) track. They originally wanted a trackless ride, but the sudden starts and stops, plus the on-board audio, required too much power for a battery to handle. They choose to have a track instead. Yep it's the first XXL to have either both or all seats facing outward. Though Mondial did it on their model, the Mistral, with Artistico: -

rcjp, wasn't it you who were wondering how manufacturers tested their seats? Well, Gerstlauer posted a video where you can see their (featuring a Junker's style seat, so I'm on topic!): See here, the last few minutes.
