  1. The first time I speculated (the same thing from the last page or so) and posted on PB, I only got lambasted by two people. I thought their quota was at least 7! For shame. This is exactly the problem. I like what Wally said sometime last year (he got banned from PB, by the way, so that should be some indication to this next part): "The site itself is great, but if I wanted a discussion board run like communist China, I'd visit theirs".
  2. ^You should see the reaction when I posted the same thing on Pointbuzz.
  3. After wandering around the construction zone yesterday and looking at the signs, it hit me: What if this thing has switchbacks? "Back up, bronco..." "We're goin' in a whole new direction!" The weird track that looks like a water coaster may very well be, but a prototype Intamin water coaster (with theming?) isn't out of the question yet. "Hold on to your spurs" might refer to the spurs of track needed to make a switchback. "A change is a comin'" is probably self-explanatory. In any case, I think I'll hold on to my switchback assumption until August.
  4. Uh... I didn't realize it used to be a shell. Otherwise I would have posted this "news" after I visited the park but a few weeks ago!
  5. I suppose some people wouldn't get it... but, like I said, the ride ops come around, and even if you've already done it, they just make sure you did it right.
  6. Same at CP. Though I don't think they recheck it, they ask you to raise your hands until a ride op comes around to "safely lock the restraints". Seeing as how most of the people know how to use a restraint ("OMG! You push DOWN!" ), a lot of them are already locked in, and the ride ops check it anyway. (They don't recheck it, however.)
  7. The fact that Corkscrew had belts added last year should give you a better idea of why the carabiners are on Skyhawk... pointless additions!
  8. "Lunch: The Reality" So depressing, yet unfortunately so true for many park restaurants. Bah. Thanks for the pics.
  9. Why is: a) Magnum in front of Coasters now, and b) Iron Dragon isn't?! Keep 'em coming.
  10. Not yet, thank god.
  11. A line for Magnum?! WTF!! Looks like fun. I actually like Skyhawk, but it's way too short. I hit it at park opening and that's it.
  12. ^It's a subtle hint that BGT is getting "ROAR!" for next year. Thanks for the pics.
  13. I was at the park just the day before, and the lines weren't that bad (save for Raptor as usual), AND we didn't have rain. Guess I really lucked out. Anyway, looks like you had a good time.
  14. Here's what you missed: I see the DHARMA Initiative in the background.
  15. ^Correct. It's Theme Park Magazine. Having not heard of it either, I assumed it was a CP-biased group, especially to rate MS as anything above Top 100.
  16. I'd been trying to figure out what it said for at least a week from images on the Funcam... soon as I saw it in person on Thursday, I had to laugh.
  17. Your opinions at the end sound exactly like mine... especially the bugs on MF. A front-seat ride with a yellow jacket on a May morning guarantees a lot of black dots that weren't there before. I just got back last night, in fact, from a visit to the Point. (Thursday and Friday.) Very fun, MF thrice, Magnum at least 10 times (as always), even Dragster. Noticed that you hit the back of the park first on the second day. If and when you go back, I suggest you park in the Soak City lot. There's an entrance really close to Dragster, Magnum, and Frontiertown. Since everyone else hits the front first, it's best to work in the opposite direction. Ride on!
  18. Was at the park for the past two days. The supports definitely seem to suggest a longer version of Rita, with what looks like many low-to-the-ground connecting pieces.
  19. I might need one of those things, especially the Locke figure. Looks even better with the hatch below him, and seems more lifelike than the others (except Hurley).
  20. Going tomorrow and Friday. Lack of digital camera sucks, however... but if anyone wants a visual description, let me know.
  21. Your S:TE experience sounds pathetic. Thanks for the photos.
  22. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm Vertical construction, perhaps? Good and bad news: Good: I'm going to CP this Thursday and Friday, and next Thursday too! Bad: I don't have my digital camera yet. Anyway, I look forward to coming back Saturday with an update.
  23. KP saves the world (and subsequently, your ass) every day, and you reward her with a trip to Dorney?! Gotta be one of the best Photo TR's in history.
  24. That indoor Screamin' Swing looks interesting enough... Hey, nice to know that the shower is Casey-approved. Exactly how tall is he, anyway? Thanks for the pics.
