  1. I know, for most amusementparks, rain often holds off most of the crowds. Being a music festival time, do you think the rain threat over the rest of the week will hold off much of the crowd?
  2. The only thing that is "cheap" about the company is that they allow parks to market a transformed coaster as a new attraction for only 1/2 the cost. The products RMC provides, are anything but low-budget. The only thing I meant by cheap is that they don't cost parks too much money. Example of that would be Outlaw Run. It's a very large and innovative ride, but it only cost 10 mil. These conversions that they do probably cost around 4/5 million.
  3. All though it would be awesome, I seriously doubt it will happen. It would kinda be a bit cheeky to do the exact same super successful thing as your biggest competitor. I feel that's the only reason why they don't work with them. RMC is the perfect manufacturer. Cheap, low maintenance, highly marketable, and an amazing ride experience.
  4. I wonder if we will ever see a coaster above 200 feet at SDC. It would be a nice addition, but I feel theywniukdbt do it because theming would be to difficult.
  5. That's the most annoying thing ever. I always just duck down and cover my head until we go down the drop!
  6. So I'm visiting again at the end of October. Do the crowds usually get oretty bad for the rides then? I think there is also a music festival going on then too.
  7. I've felt the operators were always really friendly, but not fast. There is always a few days where they really are fast at loading though. Worlds of fun has some great employees when it comes down to operating rides.
  8. The GP at worlds of fun are totally convinced that mamba is the world tallest, fastest, longest, best roller coaster ever. Also, during my visit two weeks ago, Mamba stopped on the lift. Whenever the lift started back up, it made a siren go off like all coasters do. The lady in front of me said, "Oh no! The alarm is going off because the train derailed!", while clearly looking at the whole train going up the lift hill. Then when the train came back from the last few airtime hills, she screamed, 'Look! There is only 4 wagons on the cart! It used to have 15!" Then somehow I ended up behind her on the ride, and when we hit the final brakes, she flipped out saying it jumped the tracks like 30 times. I wish the concept of airtime was easy to explain without making a fool of myself!
  9. I'm guessing 2017-2020 will be when it comes. Though, if the current pattern continues, we won't get one ever
  10. Id never say Outlaw Run was rough. Sometimes, it has bumps along the way, but not enough to call it rough. That's just my opinion though, it seems to ride smoother the cooler it is outside.
  11. Operations are fantastic today. Two trains on mamba, and only a station wait. Operators were talking about the third train being out today, but here is no serious line anywhere besides Prowler.
  12. I've never really understood what determines if Mamba pulls out the third train. I've only seen it out on select Saturday's during haunt.
  13. I was thinking the same thing. I bet if it didn't have the shoulder restraints, it would be very fun. Somewhat like a Schwarzkopf. I saw the trains, and it looks like I'm tall enough to get my head above the restraints so it should hurt me too much. Is it just the transitions that make it rough, or does it ride the rails poorly?
  14. I know, they aren't coasters, but they are really cool rides for a fairground in America!
  15. I just found out that the strange Pinfari RC-48 will be going to the Oklahoma State Fair. It looks like a very painful ride. No one that I know has been on this ride. Who has been on this? Is the ride very painful, uncomfortable, or clunky. Also, I haven't been on a Pinfari coaster other than the wacky worm rides, are the trains very cramped? Another note, the Oklahoma state fair is going to have five different coasters including a Chance Tobbogan, an enterprise, and a Bayurn Curve!
  16. On wooden rollercoasters, specifically ones that use PTC or Morgan Trains, there is a slight gap between the bottom of the track and the up-stop wheel. When ever there is airtime, the train wants to accelerate downward at the rate of gravity, but when there is an airtime hill that isn't perfectly 0 g, say it is at -0.1g the track wants to accelerate the train down faster than gravity. There for the top wheels lift up, and the bottom wheels come in contact with the bottom of the track. There for there is a sensation of the train jumping the tracks. This always messes with the GP. Not only that, it can damage the train and track if it changes from negative gs to positive gs very quickly. It is a very common thing for wooden coasters. So no worries!
  17. A dark ride could fit into the arcade building with a few expansions not I clouding the queue. They could move the timberwolf exit, and if they are removing Thinderhawk, use that area with the abandoned games for a que and exit to the dark ride.
  18. Am I seriously the only one who doesn't hate the new additions next year? I mean, it's not like a coaster was even rumored to come next so what was there to disappoint. You know, maybe they are saving up to get something big, but still getting smaller things in the process. Also, flying scooters are really fun. That is what is holding my opinion so high of this addition.
  19. I was doing some thinking about how Outlaw Run will age. I highly doubt aging will be a problem with the track to do its insanely innovative engineering, but how will the trains age? I wonder if they will develop a rattle, or start getting sluggish. Though, I doubt no problems will surface because SDC's maintenance is amazing, what if some surprises surface?
  20. Wildfire at Silver Dollar City has quite the rattle. Though, the rattle feels weird. It isn't a bunch of jolts like Vekoma rides do, it is like a bouncy, spring-y like rattle. That is about the best I could describe it. I'm sure rattles can be fixed specifically in the trains, but if it is deformation of the track, it would be pretty hard to fix.
  21. Yawl Must Really Don't Like Me Take your arguments to the direct messages please, we've had enough accusations on the last few pages already. Anyways, good luck to anyone who visits this Labor Day weekend. I hear it's supposed to be absolutely packed, although that's not a surprise for the holiday. I'm pretty sure it will be a definite fast lane day!
  22. Boomerang has been absolutely brutal the last few years. Like it was unbelievably rough.
  23. I was very impressed by the park today. Viking Voyager's water was crystal clear and the drop was repainted. Operations were fantastic. They were running two trains on all coasters except prowler. Prowler really needed that second train though. Must've been broke or something. All the ensures were in a very positive mood! Rides were also running very good too, especially Mamba. The MCBR killed off about 5% of the speed. It was hauling butt over those last hills. Absolutely brimming with airtime! Boomerang wasn't totally brutal. Still rough, but not horrible.
  24. I got to say prowler at worlds of fun. No one gives it the proper credit it deserves. It is truly one of the best wooden coasters in most of the united states, and is arguably the best GCI. I mean seriously it has 14 moments of actual airtime. Not to mention a relentless pace and astonishing night rides. Oh one more. Powder Keg at Silver Dollar City!
  25. Yea option two does make more sense, but if they do shut down, where would fast lane go? Seems like they just might have to leave it open.
