  1. So if Thunderhawk does get removed, do you think that the park will shutdown that whole section, or leave it open just for the usual Timberwolf exit?
  2. All though this obviously isn't the most appealing addition for coaster enthusiasts, I see it as a step closer to a thrilling ride. Knowing that Cedar Fair and Worlds of Fun both have some sense still , they won't be adding more and more kiddie rides. They know that a majority of the crowd they get there, which is based off what I see when visiting the park, is the teen age group.
  3. I am not expecting anything exciting with this announcement. We will be lucky if we even get flying scooters.
  4. I saw this photo on Instagram, it was posted 3 days ago. Did Outlaw Run get the padding replaced on on the shin bars?
  5. I am going to be hated for this, but I did not enjoy I305 like everyone said I would. I mean yea, the airtime is good, but the ride is to darn predictable. It didn't feel intense in any means, other than the forces. The elements weren't rapid fire, everything you could see coming towards you every second of the ride. It just felt very controlled, not the type of ride I like.
  6. Source please? You Don't Have To Believe Me Wait Til Thursday..My Names Not This For Nothing Wel, my name is not Insider Man, but my inside sources tell me that the new additions will not be near thunderhawk.
  7. I am excited to hear that they want to repaint mamba! It just looks so bad with the replaced yellow rails, and the faded red paint with splotches of grease all over.
  8. Why? It's because we have been told that they want to build a new coaster and it has never come. Many years, wingrider to RMC it has not happened. Hopefully the launch coaster will be different. Yes it is good that there will be meow than one, but won't appela to much to adults. I've heard that it is going to be a planter snoopy expansion. I just hope that a flying scooter ride comes too. It could ge where scrambler was.
  9. I'm glad Frank wants a new coaster. It gives me hope, but sadly, that will probably be broken into millions of little peices.
  10. Frontier City is improving at an astonishing rate, and I have to give credit to the whole park team, but one person who has had a large impact at the park is Michael Schwitek. He has a true love for the park, and has really made the place one of my favorite theme parks I have been to. IF you go back about 5 or 6 years, the operations were horrible at about 5-7 minute loading times, but now they average around a minute! Also all the buildings and rides are maintained very well!
  11. I don't know, the faded paint kinda looks good to me. Looks more rusted.
  12. Good news, Zulu is back open! I didn't ride it, but it looked slower to me.
  13. I apologize in advance, i do not normally post larger trip reports like this. For some reason, when I preview the post it adds extra spaces randomly. I have been trying to fix it, but it just wont work. I am sorry. I apologize that it took me so long to upload my trip report. With my freshman year about to start, I haven't had a ton of time to get online. Anyways here it is! I visited Silver Dollar City the week of the 29th of July, and had a total blast. It was also the first park I filmed and photographed during my visit. This was probably the best time I have had at the park, which is nothing new to me because it seems the park just keeps getting better and better! Crowds weren't to bad except on Thursday which was $40 Thursday and Saturday for Midnight Madness. Most days, you could just ride Outlaw Run, and get right back on in a good seat with little to no wait at all! On the other hand, Powder Keg managed an hour long line every day. What happened to the 3rd train? It wasn't even out on Saturday! I love the park's Moonlight Madness event. Silver Dollar City's rides are world class in the day, but take on a whole new level of awesome at night, especially Outlaw Run! Anyways onto the rides. Fire in the Hole: Still an awesome ride. Despite what everyone has been saying, most of the theming was still working. At about half way through the ride, there is a part where a baldknobber is tipping a barrel over on top of the train when it passes. Did it ever have any water in it? I thought I remember there being a small splash of water come out of it. Thunderation: Really fun, except felt a bit rougher this year than last. Also there seems to be some new rails or maybe old ones, but they were sitting by the entrance to the tunnel of the helix. Not sure what that is about. Wildfire: Well, not quite sure what to say. I use to defend the ride against people saying it had a bad rattle, but I can't anymore. I got punched in the ear a good five times during the ride. It even feels like it rattles not just side to side, but up and down too! I wish SDC would invest in a major rehab for the trains. The ride still has a fantastic layout though! Fireman's Landing: This area looks awesome! I do wish it had a bit more shade. I like how the put bells by most of the rides, which I bet is for kids to ring after the did a ride, but most kids just rang them for entertainment. I have to confess, I did that too Firefall: I had somewhat high expectations for this ride, which it did not live up to. The first launch isn't very strong nor is the first airtime moment. Still a good pop though. Second launch is decent then a good amount of airtime. Still a very good ride, but nothing extraordinary. I still prefer detonator over any S&S tower rides. Powder Keg: Great launch coaster. All I can really say is it is a ton of fun. Felt a lot smoother and faster this year. Love all the airtime on the ride Outlaw Run: Absolutely legendary ride. Can not believe how insanely intense this ride is. It is so relentless. I am happy to say that I did fit easily and had room for comfort too! The airtime was very strong and im glad I could feel it again! I actually had small bruises on my thighs from it. Chain lift feels faster this year compared to last year. I also noticed a strong jolt at the bottom of the drop, which could be felt on the wheel seats the most and a bit in the front. Outlaw Run just blows my mind at night. Enough said about that! All of the minor rides like water rides and flat rides where running pretty good, though their was a very ridiculous rule on the parks swinging ship ride. You are not allowed to have airtime. The operator threatened to shut the ride down if we came of our seats. If you don't want us to do that, why operate it like that? One thing to mention to people who don't like water rides, but like to ride waterslides, and want to cool off during your vacation, go to the Water Chute on the strip over by the Walmart that got damaged by the tornado. It is a ton of fun, and the owner is a really nice lady! Okay here are the pictures: I would caption them, but I have a lot and didn't take them in any order.
  14. I was comparing worlds of fun to frontier city. I apologize if my math was off as most numbers were estimates.
  15. I know that B&M rides are insanely expensive, but if you do that math, they aren't to far off of affording a decent sized coaster. I know that a smaller park gets about 1 million dollars each year to invest into rides. Seeing that worlds of fun is 2 to 3 times larger than that park, they would be able to spend maybe 2 million a year on new rides or attractions. So it has pretty much been seven years since a new coaster, 2x7=14 that is 14 million dollars. Subtract the cost of Steelhawk which couldnt be more than 500,000 for just installment and utilities. And the oceans of fun additions since Prowler opened total around 3 million dollars. That leaves 11.5 million dollars for a new investment in the future. Could they just be saving up for something big in the next 2-4 years?
  16. I actually do think they could relocate Wildcat to Wild Adventures as the Wildcat was built on flat land similar to Wild Adventures flat land. And are you sure about the air gates being used on Outlaw Run? Because I remember Wildcat having kind of squared, grayish air gates while Outlaw run doesn't. And are you sure about the control panels being reused on Outlaw Run? Because it seems to me that if they were to reuse the control panel on any other wooden coaster in the chain it'd be Thunderhead since Thunderhead is another G.C.I and Outlaw Run is an R.M.C. Outlaw Run has squared gates too. I bet they are reused because they don't line up perfectly, but pretty close, and have all he same characteristics of GCI gates like the ring in the back of the railings. I bet there were just painted black.
  17. Lines during the week are not bad at all! I would not expect to wait more than 20 minutes tops for anything (And that will only be for like Outlaw Run, and maybe Powder Keg!) Excluding Thursday and Saturday, Outlaw Run was a walk on. Powder Keg maintained around an hour everyday oddly enough. Outlaw Run was into the over flow queue around 5 o clock Saturday. Wildfire had such a long line that I found it has a 2 story overflow building! I thought I would share a photo or two that I took during my visit before I actually post a full report. We actually just got back to Wichita so I have to get settled back in. In the mean time, here is WIldfire and Outlaw Run!
  18. Since its been while since I've gone during the week, how long should I expect the lines to be?
  19. I honestly don't remember much wait time issues on my last visits nor did I have any major problems with the seat belts. The only thing that bothered me is that they were kind of hard to adjust.
  20. Well, that is very good then. I was a bit surprised by what they said. I always knew that it does not take Silver Dollar City 10 minutes to unload load and dispatch their malt popular rides.
  21. I really like what you did. Though, most issues seemed to be due to terrain. I could see part of the large land plot being made into a parking lot and the entrance would go between the new and old parking lot. Then add a coaster that interacts with the entrance, and boom you got a modern cedar fair park. Kinda off topic, but I think worlds of fun feels a bit stuck in the 90's for cedar fair parks. It doesn't have that clean feel that the others do. Worlds of fun looks and feels very busy.
  22. How have the operations been on Outlaw Run and Powder Keg this year? Someone on Instagram was complaining about their load times being "as bad as Six Flags Over Texas".
  23. I honestly don't think planet snoopy will get expanded. Besides where else could it go besides on the other side of mamba? I could see a new coaster go for the American section as that is right where the insanely large plot of land is. But I doubt they would as it would kinda be a tight squeeze to get from the current paths between Steelhawk, Patriot, and tomberwolf to get a plaza and station.
  24. I think it's is quite exciting ride. I mean it still has a total butt load of airtime. It also has a fairly quick pace.
  25. Well, it definitely wont stay smooth, but it wont get as rough as it was before the work. Am I the only one who notice during the helix there is one spot that is snaps really hard. Like it is half way into the helix. It is a very sharp spot. I really hope that the helix gets worked on next year.
