Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread

You know, other do have a good point. The infrastructure up here's the park has been getting have really benefitted the park well. I mean yea it is annoying that there isn't a new coaster, but at least there are improvements to the park. One thing I would really like to see is better operations. They used to be pretty good but this year wasn't the best. Patriot still seemed to have the fastest operations but there was room for improvement. -

We base the park is over due for a coaster on the time span between new coasters for other parks of the same size and in the same chain. Rarely do most parks go without a coaster for 7 years. -

I agree with what ^ said. All thigh it's not a perfect fit for the park, it will still do great there. It would draw more people which worlds of fun needs. It would also bring more people to the park side during the summer which oceans of fun is the main reason to visit. -

I don't understand why the park is investing so much into family rides. No one wants them, even the GP. Like everyone has stated before, we want new thrills! -

That is actually quite reasonable! Looks like things are finally coming together for worlds of fun! -

A Sky Rocket II would be perfect for Worlds of Fun in my opinion since the park does not have a launched coaster, but as he said, it's still a vague rumor and a long way off. It would be a good fit for the park, but the capacity would be really bad during the park's busier times. A custom version, similar to Full Throttle with a bit more intense pacing, is exactly what the park needs. Throw in a couple inversions, then the park would have a real winner. That is just what i think would be ideal, but over the past few years the park has been doing things less than ideal, so i doubt any of that would come true -
A lot of this traffic is from nearby by places like booming Northwest Arkansas. They wait for good weather days and bombard the park and the park will need adjust to feast or famine like crowds as it's local park base continues to grow. This park may need more major infrastructure improvements than new attractions. I agree. One thing I noticed is how many bottle necks there are around the park. Some paths need widened, but they might destroy the feel of the park.

The park would like to get new GCI trains for Timber Wolf, so I wouldn't count on PTC, at least for now. If you ask me, I feel they'd stick with PTC so they don't have to change the brakes and loft hill mechanisms. It would save a few bucks! -

If you ask me, they should do it now so the other parts don't get too worn. -

I really hope I'm not the only one who hopes Timberwolf gets the new PTC 360 trains. They would work great with the new track work on it! -

Frontier City is probably the definition of underrated parks! -
Underrated Coasters?
Jaykethekid replied to Yero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Prowler is very underrated! It's a relentless, airtime filled, speedy ride through the Missouri woods! Another one that doesn't get the love it should is Powder Keg at Silver Follar City. That ride has a butt load of airtime, a great launch, and a relatively strong pace! -
I would say to find what the park lacks to better figure out what ride should be coming. Since the park literally has no weak spot, that technique wouldn't work. There's people who say there is a big gap for a family coaster between PK and the grand exposition coaster, but wouldn't thunderation fall under that? If you ask me, I can see a Wingrider, Invert, or a Hyper coming. Of course those would all be from B&M. Just what I think would come. I also do agree that it would be 2017.

That's true. I don't know if it's just me, but mamba's lift hill has felt a lot faster. Am I the only one who noticed it? -

So, if worlds of fun does get a dark ride would it be like the new plants vs zombies thing going into Carowinds, or like the other triotech rides? -
Honestly I think SDC is one of the few parks where the rain doesn't scare away the guest. I have been to the park MANY times when it was raining, or started raining and it really didn't seem to be causing people to leave. I'm guessing the whole music festival thing will keep even more people at the park, even during the rain. (Obviously unless it's a thunderstorm) Two different answers, and don't know what to do! Haha. Guess I'll just have to find out today and see what happens. Everything was a complete walk on yesterday with one trains on all coasters. Yesterday was an example of appropriate one train use.
