  1. I'm not gonna be one to get over hyped for something, or set my hopes too high, but it will be very interesting if the new entrance doesn't come next year, which its expected that it won't. I've heard a few ops telling guests that they have heard of a launched entrance coaster coming in 2018. That pretty much sums up some of the rumors we have been hearing over the past few months. I don't want to set my hopes too high, but this feels very credible.
  2. Right now, I feel the Worlds of Fun side needs more attention than Oceans. I think the dry parks needs a large new, thrilling attraction before they start to invest heavier into the water park. The last large expansion was at the water park with the 6 slide complex in 2013. Unless you're scared of heights, that's the last thrilling attraction we receivedc That's very true. Then again, it seems we are more likely to get an oceans of fun addition than worlds of fun. I'm still wondering when they will announce what is coming in 2017. Makes me feel that they are missing out on an opportunity to at least get some hype for 2017.
  3. Like I said, it wasn't a bad rattle. Besides, I get headaches quite easily. To be honest, it's still really smooth for what it does.
  4. I had my first visit to Carowinds over the past three days. I am absolutely in love with the park. I have zero complaints about the park. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere energetic even on a slow day, operations are unbelievable, and the park is very pretty! It really reminded of what worlds of fun would be like if Cedar Fair didn't neglect it so much. I really have nothing to complain about. Operations are unbelievable on their major rides! Fury 325 was running all three trains even though it was a walk on. Towards the end of the day, there is a certain group of operators that can get all three trains out on the ride! They averaged 25 second dispatches. It was great. We did asks go front seat for our first ride, and was told to let people in front of us first, then we got to go to the front row. Fury 325 was amazing! The ride itself is my new #3. It probably would've been higher, but I found the ride to have a strange rattle that kinda gave me a headache. It's not rough or unbearable at all, but I found Intimidator to be way smoother. Fury had just what I wanted in a coaster. When you factor in the entire ride experience, like the beautiful lighting and super hyped up ride crew, it became what I would consider the coolest coaster I've been on. Kinda hard to explain what I'm saying no there. Those Woodstock gliders were a ton of fun to snap on! I did notice that some of the vehicle's wings couldn't move as far as other ones. Number 3 specifically, it wouldn't allow me to point the fin inwards much at all. My favorite vehicle was number 4 because it moved far in both directions. Overall, Carowinds became my favorite amusement park I have been to. I'm interested to see how that holds up, because I am going to Dollywood today.
  5. They need to do away with the current style of PTC trains. They need to go with some of the one row, trailered trains like Milennium Flyers, Timberliners, or the PTC variant. I forgot the name of that one.
  6. So, I had my first visit here yesterday. I thought the park was really good! The employees are so nice and respectful. Everything the park was doing was great except operations. There were running one train on all rides excluding LR. Speaking of LR, those have to be the most restrictive restrains I have seen on any coaster. I fit fine in every coaster I have been on, yet this I was so far from fitting. It seems that they really only work on skinny people. I saw no one reasonably over 200 pounds riding it. Guess I could use it as weight loss motivation, but I think it's kinda ridiculous. Storm Chaser was absolutely fantastic! It became my new #1 roller coaster. It offers everything you could want in a ride, inversions, airtime, intensity. The ride wasn't so intense that I came off nauseous or with a huge head rush, which is good in my books. The line was about fifteen minutes over all, so I got 11 rides in about 5 hours. Also, it's unbelievably smooth! All the RMCs I have been on, you could feel each and every track section, sometime more than you'd like. I'd describe the ride to perfectly bridge the interests over coaster enthusiasts and the GP. Kentucky Kingdom has a real winner on their hands.
  7. I don't think they should get rid of assigned seating, but they should modify it to be more like suggested seating like the Herschend parks do on their popular coasters. They let you request certain rows if that's what you want, no problem there. Assigned seating does improve capacity and reduce the clutters of cramped people waiting in the station, but it can get very annoying.
  8. The only parts I've heard they used form OzCat were the gates and control panel, which shouldn't be causing too many problems. Whenever I visit, Outlaw Run is rarely down. It usually breaks down once a visit for me, and normally it's back up and running within 10 minutes. Now, Powder Keg is always breaking or shut down because of "wet track" as the ops tell me. I've never really understood how a ride could be so sensitive to rain.
  9. Most weekdays excluding fridays will mainly be exactly the same. If the weather is really nice, it could get a bit busier. IF you can stand heat, go on the hottest day of the week. If the temperature is above 100 degrees, you will pretty much have the park to yourself.
  10. Do Intimidator first. If you fit on Intimidator, you fit on Fury. Ive been on B&M trains like that recently, so i know i will fit in those. The two vekomas are what concern me the most, as i have not been on either of those kind of trains before.
  11. Are there any coasters at the park that are particularly not large rider friendly? I know i can fit in the B&M's other than Vortex since i am yet to ride a B&M stand up. I am trying desperately to make Fury 325 my 100th coaster, and if there is a coaster that i might not fit in, i want to make sure i've accounted for the possible rejection before i visit.
  12. The ride ops have been kinda slow this season, but they are all happy, energetic, and pretty funny which makes waiting longer due to the slow operations a little less painful. The best operations this season seems to be on mamba, especially with one of the ride's crew. They race each other to unlock and check the restraints, it's pretty funny.
  13. In simple terms, you want to fly in an oval shape. You pretty much want to start getting as high as you can, and before you near the highest point, turn the rudder towards the ride (push handle to the right) and stay that way till you near the bottom, then point it in the opposite direction and repeat. It takes a few tries to get to the right arc and height. I hope i make sense, i am very bad with explaining things haha.
  14. I'm glad to hear that! It's really cool that they are so relaxed about it. For those who have been on both, can you use the same method to snap on Larson versions with the Bisch Rocco versions?
  15. So, I understand that Carowinds Woodstock Gliders are the old Bisch Rocco flying scooters from KI. I am a huge enthusiast of these rides and was wondering if they are strict about snapping, or if it has been dulled down to prevent snapping.
  16. Food stands and resturaunts is the biggest negative in my opinion for this park. We had a cashier pocket all of the cash for our drinks at the pizza place by the new taco stand. Chickie and Pete's is getting straight up disgusting. Food has been cold, trash laying all over the place, tables are always dirty, and the floor is always coated in a thin layer of soda. The employees are always socializing rather than working. The way the food stands and resturaunts are ran really just make me disappointed and angry. They used to be really good, but now it just feels out of control.
  17. I saw that when it happened. Tons of managers from the mamba area were running to the ride. Glad they were there to help out. What all did they do once you got in the ground finally?
  18. Strongest positive force would go to Shockwave at Six Flags Over Texas. I think it pulls around 5.9 gs. Strongest negative force i have experienced has to be on Outlaw Run, specifically the air hill before the double barrel roll. Lateral Gs would also go to Outlaw Run during its corkscrew twisting airtime hill thing after the outward banked turn.
  19. Silver Dollar City could work their usual magic on any flat ride to make it unique. Many parks have an S&S shot tower or swing including six flags and cedar fair parks, yet no one has complained about SDC's versions being unoriginal or cookie cutter. I think Silver Dollar City could make a star flyer work. They can practically theme any ride to fit in if they have the money and effort to do so, which they do have. Now, I know that something like a star flyer isn't coming anytime soon, but I think it would work good here.
  20. I think a smaller one would work great! Give the tower a brown paint scheme, theme the heck out of it and it would be a winner!
  21. If the ride was themed to mining, I highly doubt a ride with a flying experience would fit in with that theme. The best things that could go with that theme are a dive coaster or eurofighter, but, even the Mack launched spinning coaster could work with that.
  22. During the tour of the cave today, a little boy asked if there was gold the cave and our tour guide said "There was no natural gold, but rumor has it that settlers stored their gold in the cave. Matter of fact, park management is trying to discover that gold probably in 2018" I think it's strange he would say something like that because the rumors have been saying stuff about a coaster themed around mining could be coming soon. Just pure speculation, but it's very interesting to think about.
  23. I just read somewhere that RMC has ordered all coasters closed to replace a part in the train. Dollywood's website said so as well. Does anyone know if Outlaw Run is down?
  24. I heard from a friend that London terror is going to be moved into the buildings by Timberwolf's exit. I also over heard a ride op mention we will be getting one ride going where Thunderhawk was. Pretty much everything we've kind of rumored to happen is true. But then again, employees more than likely don't have the full story. Security has been really heightened at the park with metal detectors and increased bag checks. Even though there is a greater security presence, some people still act very bad. I saw this group of thuggy teens absolutely trash the men's bathroom over by Zulu. It's sad how people with now respect act. I'd like to see the park have more monitoring of what's going on in the park.
  25. If it's by Flying Dutchman, that's Europa. Good point, I don't visit that area much, so I wasn't sure if that was Europa or part of Scandinavia. I honestly used to think that they were the same section in a way, but I guess not.
