  1. I've seemed to notice that the park does want to improve general infrastructure like paths and such. The problem is the concentrate most of it to the newer areas or more traveled areas. The spots that haven't seen new additions in years are getting really run down. Hopefully, they will eventually get to other parts of the park like the Scandinavia section by Flying Dutchman.
  2. I'm not sure exactly how the shaking feels on Lightning Rod, but I know on Outlaw Run if you ride on a wheel seat, you feel every single bump, track section, and weld to the top of the track surface. It can be a little discomforting to feel during spots of high g forces.
  3. I've seen a lot of new concrete and asphalt this year. What spots are you thinking of? The only path i know of that's somewhat rough is the long stretch from Detonator to Mamba. Those markers everyone is talking about are closer to the train station and the old bumper car building than anything else. I doubt they would be moving battlecreek for the new additions.
  4. That's if they stick with one coaster. That could either mean they are investing in another similar size attraction in the same year, or are saving up for rather large 2018 investments. I'm not going to cry wolf or anything, but screamscape did have a rumor stating we could get a launched coaster in 2018. Maybe another park could get a coaster too. Just a little theory of mine I still would not be surprised to see a Tempesto clone come to WOF. That's what I'm thinking could be coming at the minimum. I can only hope for custom though.

  6. There are no new markers, demolitions or land clearing so I doubt anything on a coaster scale is coming. Though, they have blocked off all the buildings excluding the arcade in bicentennial square. I have a really strong feeling we're getting a dark ride next year.
  7. How come i can never come during days like that! I always end up going on the weekdays that they expect a low crowd and run one train, but then it seems every teenager in the entire city of KC shows up. Are there days that usually end up like that more than others, because even after visiting frequently for the past 7 years, i am yet to find one.
  8. I was at the park today. Nothing really cool happened today. Though, they really need to get Fury of The Nile's water under control. It smells so bad and in lots of areas has brown / green foam bubbling up from the bacteria in the water. It's really gross and smells like something died in it It seemed they added chlorine to it, but didn't seem to change much.
  9. I saw a post in my Facebook feed that was just posted 30 minutes ago of guests riding it. It could be an old post, but it was from someone who just today posted that they were at Dollywood. Guess it's not broke as bad as y'all think
  10. I think they'd probably bring in a new subcontractor to work on the launch before they did that. The launch is the "big deal" about the ride and what their marketing materials center around. That said I'm starting to think of Timber Tower. Granted that ride was awful and not worth saving, but still... A 35-40 MPH chain lift would bring quite the attention I don't think they'd be able to get the ride to the right speed with a chain lift. The lift would probably have to be 50 ft or so taller at the first crest. Good idea though.
  11. How have ride operations been lately compared to opening day. I know on opening day, the trains on all coaster, excluding Timberwolf for its restraint problem and prowler not having the second train built, never stacked.
  12. On slow days, I've seen the queue nearly full up to 25 minutes from the tour time. I'd suggest getting there relatively early. I don't think the tour will get cancelled unless it rains right before your time.
  13. I'm sure most of the teens there where more than likely on an end of the school year field trip. Most of the time, even during the school year, the park is really "infested" with really obnoxious teens. I mean, I'm a teen myself, but I'll never act like the Kc kids around there. The clientele of the park seems to be slightly going downhill. I mean hasn't there been like two gang fights at the park? Anyways, on a better note. I do like the visual appearance of the park. Landscaping is one of worlds of fun's strong points. They have been trying to restore some older theming in the park lately, but they keep getting destroyed by vandalism.
  14. I saw some people commenting on other places that posted about this construction worrying that Thunderation could be removed. I feel this is highly unlikely. I hope it doesn't get removed.
  15. A Hyper GT-X is a great idea for any park. I think it would be a great fit for worlds of fun!
  16. Has anyone seen anymore signs of construction in the park? Last we saw where the markings.
  17. I just thought of something. Although nothing has really pointed towards a new coaster, i think something along the lines of Knoebel's Impulse could go where the markings are.
  18. As long as the new rides are better than a used windseeker (what isnt besides a boomerang?), I will be happy. I mean, new coaster and all would be fantastic and would be the best thing they could do, the two flats would be good.
  19. I'd be fine with the dark ride if they weren't teasing like they are. Both the two strong possibilities seem awfully small for teasing this early. I think it's just something to watch for later in the season.
  20. This is probably what I am most excited for this year in Branson. "Bigfoot" looks to be a fun addition to the strip, and I know we will be sure to visit it a few times this year! I'm really looking forward to that and the alpine coaster coming. Has construction started on either?
  21. See, that's the other part that confuses me even though it could be the flats. The thing is, what else could go where the flags are?
  22. What makes this early season teaser different then KI's early season teaser? The difference would be that this would be 3 coaster projects in one year, something we haven't seen of late from CF. KI has begun tree clearing and has survey markers across a very large area. KI's project is a coaster and from all appearances a large one. Hurler, in house or not, is still a coaster project. As I said before I hope it is a coaster (and I agree that early teasing is usually a sign of a bigger investment) but it would be a deviation from the capital investment strategy we've seen the past few years. 2013 saw Gatekeeper, a $30 million investment, Gold Striker, probably a $10 million investment, and Coast Rider at Knott's, and not to mention GCI refurbishments on Shivering Timber, Timber Wolf, and Hurler at Carowinds. There's no reason why 2017 can't have three coaster projects if they average around $15-20 million each. Cedar Fair generally spends well over $100 in expenditures per year throughout their parks, and there's nothing to say that on certain years the bulk of that will be spent on water parks, or coasters, or family attractions, or thrill rides, or in any combination. Maybe 2017 will focus on coasters. Hell, if they wanted to, Cedar Fair can open 11 new coasters in 2017 (1 for each park), each about $10 million, and still be at budget. Not to mention if they buy that many in one year, they would probably get a bulk discount I actually think it could just be s drop tower They have detonator though, and that's an exemplary drop tower! I wouldn't be surprised if this is just for the two new flats.
  23. I remember reading somewhere that CF was going to start heavily investing in the small parks, and their first park was Carowinds. I wonder if Worlds of Fun is the next park to get a large investment. That would only be the case if what I read was true.
  24. I'm hoping the coaster drought will be over, but I don't want to get too excited. I don't want to get so hyped up thinking it will be a huge addition, then it comes to be just the flats. I mean weren't they already practically confirmed? I think all I can do at the moment is hope for the best and be prepared for the worst. I really don't know what to think!
  25. Worlds of Fun Dot Org has shared this interesting photo of a timeline that shows what additions the park has had overtime and in the center says "whats new for 2017?" and WOF We Own Fun. Could this be a teaser for the two new flats or something bigger?
