  1. It's very nice that SDC has this listed I'm still impressed that they will give you a voucher to return anytime during the season if there is bad weather for more than 90 minutes of bad weather. Most parks i've been to have done the "sorry that the weather's bad, sucks for you" kind of thing. It just shows how much SDC wants their guests to be happy!
  2. Im pretty sure theyve had them for a while, but i personally didn't know about them until recently. I always though Cinammon Bread was unique to Dollywood. Glad its not so i can have some without driving 13+ hours!
  3. I do get sick if rides spin quite a bit, but I do enjoy a good spinning coaster. I mean, what's the point of a spinning coaster if it doesn't spin It should be called a "Mildly rotating" coaster. All I want spinning wise is to do a 360 through a zero g roll. if I can have that, then I'd be pleased.
  4. Does anyone know when the last time the mist effect worked on wildfire? It always was a really nice little touch, and it somewhat cooled you off during the summer if you were riding in the back. The last time I remember it working was in 2014. I don't know why that effect is always breaking, as it seems like a simple setup.
  5. I'm really interested how they will pull of the theming of this ride. I like the warehouse of time travel machinery and stuff, but what I don't like is the roman theming idea. I know it ties into the story, but I'd rather have high quality theming over a funny story. But who knows if that's exactly how they are gonna do it. Hope I made sense with that...
  6. I did read on Screamscape that Kanonen from liseberg will be shipped and opened at an American park in 2018. I know expecting it to come to WOF is extremely outlandish since Cedar Fair hasnt worked with Intamin in a while and it seems too nice of a ride for WOF. It would fill most of the gaps in their coaster lineup. Its just an idea and i know just because its on screamscape doesnt mean its true. It was just a thought i had.
  7. Lately, I have been thinking about project 2018 and I've had a few questions arise. Though, I do have one that I feel has been covered before, but I can't really find anything about it. Is this supposed to be a Mystery Mine like ride with dark ride sections inside a themed building and go outside for coaster stuff? With some of those proposed theming ideas they had on a survey, it does seem likely that would be the case.
  8. I don't know what the insurance company would know, but they could be a theme park insurance company. Lots of people do talk about those cars. My last visit we were behind a family walking up the stairs to the station and the parents were telling their kids about the backwards cars, but it wasn't until their turn to ride that they realized they were gone.
  9. I just wish you could still ride it backwards!! Regardless, you are correct it's a very intense mine train!! And so much fun!! So, what was the reason they did turn the cars back forwards? That wasn't too long ago either?
  10. I feel like that's a pretty high number for SDC!! That is quite high! Gotta give it to Thunderation's steller ride ops who are always getting the trains out as quick as humanly possible. In all my visits, i have maybe seen the train stack once, and that was because someone didnt want to give up their purse.
  11. I'm with you. That's my biggest complaint about wildfire. Other than the inside of the station and gift shop, it's very bare theming, or vegetation wise. Hopefully, with the new attraction, they will fill up those spots with either trees or theming.
  12. I've ridden Mamba over 1,500 times. Ever since i was six, when i go to Worlds of Fun, i ride Mamba, get back in line, and ride again. All though its not my favorite in the park, prowler is, but mamba has a certain re-rideability that prowler does not have.
  13. I agree. If it didn't, i don't think it would cause too much of a problem, but on the busier days like Haunt, then there might be some issues.
  14. That's a very interesting connection. I mean, this rumor has been going on for a very long time. Is there any other park rumored to get a skyrocket in 2018?
  15. Quick question. Are the restraints on Ridler Revenge and Catwoman Whip as large ride friendly as the older Zamperla Restraints? I fit those fine, so I'm wondering if it's much different.
  16. For me, i already got everything set in stone. In addition to many visits to Frontier City and Worlds of Fun, these are the parks i'll be visiting Silver Dollar City Six Flags Over Texas Lagoon Galaxyland Water Zoo Great Wolf Lodge KC
  17. Since i am exactly between Frontier City and Worlds of Fun, i have two home parks. Frontier City: 1- Silver Bullet 2- Wildcat 3- Steel Lasso 4- Wild Kitty 5- Diamondback Worlds of Fun 1- Prowler 2- Mamba 3- Timberwolf 4- Patriot 5- Spinning Dragons 6- Cosmic Coaster 7- Boomerang
  18. My favorite sound has to be Outlaw Run's airtime screech. It makes the ride seem very powerful. My least favorite sound has to be Mamba's brakes. They are extremely loud. You can hear the train hit the MCBR from anywhere inside Worlds of Fun and far into the parking lot.
  19. Based off of a post from Wof.org, Frank Wilburn is no longer working for Worlds of Fun or cedar fair. It was mentioned that his replacement is someone from Kings Island. Let's hope this is a positive change for the park!
  20. Well, yesterday was the first time in a while that I had an exceptional day at Worlds of Fun. This season has has a lot of days for me that we're good, but not great. Yesterday really showed off how great the park would be if overall effort was higher. There was very minimal stacking on all rides except Timberwolf. Timberwolf is still having obnoxious restraint issues. I really hope that gets fixed during the off season. I would also like to mention that they had the trims turned off all day. That really was a great experience. It felt a lot more intense and had much better airtime. Mamba also had the trims rather low so there was some nice floaty air on the return trip. They also had fantastic operations on mamba. Few times during the day, the train was dispatched right as the other train left the MCBR. Other times it would be dispatched right when the other train hit the final brakes. Overall, operators showed great character. They were all very nice and took their job seriously. I grabbed lunch at the LC's food truck and man, that was a great burger. Very greasy, but really good. Prices were rather high, but that's what you would expect eating at a park.
  21. I think it would be quite cool to see more of those being built, but as far as SDC goes, I'm unsure how it would fit in the park. Though, it would be absolutely awesome to have a terrain bobsled!
  22. What makes you think it will be a Mack? If it is a Mack, I think it would be a Big Dipper Dive coaster... The more recent rumors have been really stating it will be a Mack. I personally agree that it could be along the lines of a Big Dipper model, but maybe with spinning vehicles. Regardless of what type it is, this already seems to be a huge project for SDC.
  23. I have a feeling that they are starting construction for 2018 early because they don't want a repeat of Lightning Rod considering this could possibly be a highly innovative prototype ride. They probably want the time to be very detailed and have some backup time in case the ride has lots of problems during testing.
  24. It's definitely going to be a huge project. If the coaster itself is larger than wildfire and has the theming that everyone says it will, it will probably be very expensive. The hype behind this project is already unreal! On another note, are Wednesday usually so dead to where you can have outlaw run completely to yourself even with one train ops? The park was so dead and quiet this Wednesday, it felt like it was completely abandoned. Even powder keg was a front row walk on with one train operations. I still find it unique that even with such a low amount of people in the park, the ride ops still send the trains out as fast as they can.
