  1. ^ Looks like an awesome coaster!! I love the way it interacts with the waterfall feature! Can't wait to try this out some day!!
  2. Granted: But your friends hate roller coasters... So they would ride anything with you. I wish that I were not allergic to our cats.
  3. Yes... Like hundreds of them. Do you have a cat??
  4. I must say that I HATED Jurassic World. I was ready to leave the movie 15 minutes into it. . . I guess that the original Jurassic Park was so good that my expectations for Jurassic world were so high that it just failed to meet my expectations.
  5. Well since this is about movies.... I must say that I HATED Jurassic World. I was ready to leave the movie 15 minutes into it. . . I guess that the original Jurassic Park was so good that my expectations for Jurassic world were so high that it just failed to meet my expectations.
  6. True. I read a chapter+ a night in a book every night before going to sleep!! The person below me hates to sleep.
  7. Never? When was the last time you drank vodka?!
  8. I actually agree. I think it is because I can just sense the fun coming from the turns. I think they are super fun to not only ride, but to watch, because you get to watch how people are reacting to the ride. So entertaining.
  9. WTF Did I just watch?! People really think that sad excuse for a "roller coaster" is fun?!?
  10. Where is that abomination? Sadly it's not running as of earlier this year, I'd totally ride it. Sorry a bit OT but I just have to leave this one here.... There is NO way in the world I would EVER get on that coaster. This photo makes it look even worse than before. Seriously... There is not enough money, or vodka in the world to get me on that thing...
  11. If it's between Giant Frisbee and an S&S Screamin' Swing... I vote S&S Screamin' Swing. They are super fun, and they are much less vomit inducing than a Giant Frisbee ride. (Well for me anyways.)
  12. You know, I LOVE roller coasters just as much as the next person on these boards. I live to ride roller coasters. I have been on the tallest... the fastest... "the most extreme." Yet I can NOT stand riding drop towers. I recently went back to Six Flags Over Texas and rode Superman Tower Of Power with my best friend, and I was seriously shaking so hard when the ride was over with I could barely stand up to get off the ride. There is something about sitting way up in the sky just waiting to plummet to the ground that I can just not mentally handle. 1.) I hate heights. Hating heights I think is what causes my huge hate for drop towers. I seriously get stressed out when I think about riding a drop tower. It is not enjoyable, it is not fun, it is not something I want to do, and when I get off a drop tower it is not something I ever want to ride again. I ride it once (most of the time I will ride it once, sometimes I will skip it all together) for the drop tower credit and that's it. I am pretty sure that I will end up having a heart attack and dying on a drop tower some day. That is how I will go out. We have a trip coming up to Kings Island shortly, and my partner wants to ride Drop Tower... I seriously get stressed out just thinking about it. When I think about riding the ride I start shaking, and my stomach ends up in knots. I know I will end up riding it... I will end up hating it... I will end up stressed out the entire way up the tower... and I will be pissed when we get off. (But hey, if riding Drop Tower makes him happy then I am all for it.) Am I the only one who gets seriously stressed out on Drop Towers?? They are not fun... They are not scary... They are just stressful. I tense up so bad it takes my body hours to calm down.
  13. I'm just curious. . . But what makes you think a giant frisbee flat ride is coming to KD??
  14. Just because I randomly came across this on RCDB, and I am sure not "everyone" has already seen this. Medusa Steel Coaster Control Panel!!
  15. It has nothing to do with the coasters age. "If it doesn't 'bend' it will break." Most all coasters are designed so that the track can sway. Take a look at videos showing Top Thrill Dragster off ride footage. The track at the base of the tower right after the launch sways back and forth a good 8-12 inches every time a train passes by it, and it is obviously much newer than Shock Wave. However, I do get what you are saying. I took one of my good friends to the park recently, and she said the same thing about the track swaying on Shock Wave. Regardless of what I told her, she was still freaked out.
  16. Looks to be a rainy day at the park. I feel bad for anyone who is there.
  17. I don't know why, but I have always loved the way Maverick's Stengel Dive looks, and rides!
  18. A few weeks ago I had the chance to visit Coney Island/Luna Park and I had a few pleasant, and unpleasant surprises. Pleasant Surprises: Cyclone: Cyclone was by far the most pleasant surprise of the park. Given the age of this coaster I was expecting the absolute worst... Well, my partner and I reluctantly got in line, and managed to get a front row seat. I don't know if it was all the padding in the trains, or the way we were sitting, but the ride was actually really fun!! It was by no means glass smooth, but it was really enjoyable. If I had to rate how rough the coaster was I would give it a 5/10. I can think of at least 5 wooden coasters off the top of my head that are much more rough than this coaster and they are at least 65 years newer! We actually both got some really fun floater time in the front seat, and the high lateral g's were actually something we both enjoyed. We asked the ride-op about the smoothness of the ride, and he said that the back was by far the worst part of the ride, so maybe we just got lucky by sitting in the front! Cyclone is not by any means the most thrilling, or best coaster out there. . . But we both enjoyed the ride, and were laughing most of the time. We got off the ride actually wanting to go again!! Soarin' Eagle: Soarin' Eagle was another pleasant surprise of the trip! I had heard/read nothing but horror stories of Volare flying coasters, but to our surprise we actually ended up enjoying it. Yes the coaster was rough, but over all it was fun. Neither of us had ever been on a Volare style coaster before so it was a unique credit. The heartline rolls provided a unique feeling floating between the train you are laying on, and the restraints on your back. I sat on the far left side of the train, and the last turn before the brake run puts you within (what seams like inches) of the building to the left of the brake run, and it seriously feels like you are about to smash face first into the building. Again, Soarin' Eagle is not by any means the most thrilling, or best coaster out there. . . But we both enjoyed the ride, and were laughing most of the time at the unique feeling the coaster provided. Unpleasant Surprises: Thunderbolt: With Thunderbolt being as new as it is I guess we both expected "more" out of the coaster. By "more" I mean more of a smooth coaster. The coaster just seemed really jerky, and rough for it to be as new as it is. The coaster was not by any means a "bad" ride. It had a fun layout, and the first drop, and airtime hills on the way back to the station were really good... However, the bumps, jerks, and vibrations throughout the ride just made the ride less enjoyable. Maybe I just hyped myself up to much for this coaster, and it ended up letting me down. Steeplechase: Having never been on a Zamperla Motocoaster style coaster I was excited for the unique riding position! The launch was fun, but the rest of the ride was just... boring. Maybe if it had more of a thrilling layout I would have enjoyed it more (I know it is suppose to be more of a family attraction,) but after the launch and first hill I was bored. The riding position was nothing special... I didn't even notice it after the launch. Again, maybe I just hyped myself up to much for this coaster, and it ended up letting me down.
  19. Just another example of how theming makes a ride 100% better. Blue Fire Megacoaster looks 100% more thrilling just because of the close calls, and the scenery.
  20. There is not enough money in the world to get me on... whatever that thing is.
  21. Am I the only one who noticed the Goliath like truss support on the first drop?? Maybe there is even more in store for this coaster than we think! A first drop with supports like Goliath would make this coaster look even more intimidating! Regardless, glad to see the coaster is back on track!
  22. The level of detail you are putting into everything in this project is amazing. I look forward to the next update. Keep up the good work!
  23. Granted: But it rains all day every day you are at the parks, so you get to do nothing!! I wish that Cedar Point let RMC give Mean Streak a make over!!
