Kentucky Kingdom (SFKK, KK) Discussion Thread
Mater replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Was having a smoke next to Top Gun at PGA recently and noticed the zero-g roll sways an insane amount and pretty much stays in motion until the next train goes through it. Made me face the other way during my cigarette, that's for damn sure. -
Best View From A Lift Hill
Mater replied to bubala's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
With the new stadium going in next to it and weekly fireworks (that just ended unfortunately), I think the view from the Gold Striker lift at sunset/night is pretty amazing. Going to be even better once the stadium opens and is all lit up on game night. -
Uhhhhhh I've seen Gatekeeper. Read my post a couple more times a little slower.

I haven't seen a real POV of it, but if the renderings are to be trusted I think Flying Over the Rainforest might have the most interesting layout.

I think with the rise of these new hybrids, the term "classic woodie" may have taken on a whole new meaning.

Very very excited to finally try Backman, and I've always loved Backwards Colossus so much. All in all I enjoyed the way that announcements were handled this year. Aside from the dude trying to be funny at parts, it was really well done and I'm glad it all happened in one big batch. Now to wait for the individual extended renderings of the new coasters..

Why Do Parks Dumb Down Their Flats?
Mater replied to ultradude306's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Firefall at CGA already shakes laterally enough. I wouldn't want it or any of the other flats there running any crazier. -
Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"
Mater replied to Teddymonster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Top Anticlimactic coasters: - The Superman flying coasters, slow low-to-the-ground overbanks put me to sleep. - SFMM Ninja, there's enough time to do a post mortem with your friend of how the ride went and plan out the rest of your day during that lift. - Mummy USH, The backwards part is pretty slow and uninteresting. Best Endings: - The Throttle, back when they released the rendering, I was 100% sure this was going to end up on the list above. Thankfully, surprises happen sometimes. The air coming into those brakes is pretty amazing. - Tatsu, Love how high up that Helix is. Such a great view of the park. - Top Gun CGA, nuff said. -

Ride You Felt Was Unsafe?
Mater replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The only time I've ever felt unsafe was Lex Luthor due to the fact the restraints are more of a lapbar with shoulder handles, rather than an actual OSTR. I knew everything was actually safe, but it was a serious struggle trying to convince myself everything was legit and good to go with that much room to move around in the harness that far up in the air. -
Parks Creating Rides In-house
Mater replied to Garet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Forgive me if I'm ignorant of something, but do the Disney rides like Radiator Springs Racers count? -
Least favorite coaster element.
Mater replied to darklingscribe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think my least favorite element, or elements, on a coaster is when a company is out of real ideas so they just put seven inversions back to back. Sup, B&M.
