How in the hell is Apocalypse a "where's the rest of it?" coaster?

All this Twisted Colossus excitement actually made me boot up in bootcamp last night to play a little No Limits 2. Five minutes later, I remembered how awful Windows is and instantly rebooted back to OSX.

Hey awesome that means I can stay up till four playing wow and only feel half as bad about it as I usually do.

Colossus was a fun coaster (backwards, at least) but I think the thing I'll miss most about it is the swarms of bees that frequently inhabited the exit ramps

I think you may be putting too much stock into the importance of a ride's first drop.

A good example of another similar twisting drop can be found right there in SFMM on the Throttle.

If they're going to do a Dragster type spiral, they're going to need to give the ride a little more height.

I agree with your overall point but Skyrush has a straight drop then curves to the right at the bottom.

This is probably the dumbest thought I've ever had, but anyone else excited at the possibility of SFMM landscaping the area around Colossus a bit for this project? I'm not asking for anything fancy.. maybe just paint over the old parking spaces and fix the cracked concrete? I mean this isn't a generic cookie-cutter B&M, it's most likely going to be their flagship coaster along with X2 and it's definitely going to be their most visible coaster from both Highway 5 and the parking lot. They might want to treat it extra nice? I realize how dumb this sounds now that I'm reading it out loud to myself. It'll probably be sitting on a big plot of garbage and broken nails opening day.

It doesn't help that Superman is basically just a taller fancier Super Loop.

I just think it's ridiculous because Hammerhead shark is the exact same ride experience.

An easy check would be to see if there's also a page for Cyclone over at SFNE referring to its classic status.

I'm probably in the minority when I say this but I'd rather the park get nothing than a super loop.

That huge turnaround would have been sweet if it leveled off prior to dropping ala Iron Medusa.

I'm getting a serious 'emo teen who recently got broken up with' vibe from this whole thing.

I, for one, have never had a bad ride on Green Lantern. And I've been on once where we were upside down pretty much from the second drop down onwards. Probably in the top three coaster experiences of my lives. Honestly it's all about ball placement. Once you guys figure that out, it'll be a lot more comfortable for you.

It's beyond me how anyone's head can be "banged" on Green Lantern given the restraint system it uses.

I'm sure the posters here would complain regardless of whatever it was called seeing as how it was built here and not in CP. There really isn't anything wrong with the name, I think it's perfect actually. I personally could do without the tacked-on "x-treme" theme but whatever, it's the same amazing coaster regardless.
