  1. I want to apologize in advance for this wall of text. This is a trip report. Sad and happy at times. May the G-Force be with you. SO, I was surprised by my father with a trip to Busch Gardens. Well, he donated the money, and said "Go". I had not planned to go to Busch on this trip. I was only here for a funeral. My Cousin died in a motorcycle accident on February 25th. It was determined that he was not at fault. His name was Mathew, and he just turned 19. That day. The funeral was on Friday. We are doing okay. So! I suggested that Mathew's mother and older brother go with me. Busch Gardens was OUR place. So, we went to Busch yesterday. Man, I love that park. The events in this trip report are in no particular order. 5 of us ended up going. My mother, Mathew's mom, her oldest son, my other cousin(Matts Aunt), and myself. I was the single rider, because I wanted them all to ride together. Everything was a walk on most of the day actually. For a Sunday. Our longest line was 20 minutes just after nightfall on Cheetah Hunt. Our night ride was amazing! The sky was so clear, and was the first thing I noticed right after the first launch as we turned over the former Clydesdale barn. The 360 degree view on top of the figure 8 element was amazing. Mathew's favorite roller coaster is Montu . It didn't seem as fast as usual to me. The trims and MCBR did not close on the train. We sailed right through the MCBR. It did sound much louder than I remember. Perhaps the new paint made it seem louder. The four of them rode in the front, and I as usual ride in my spot in the back, but on the same train. I was not let in on this PRIOR to boarding, but when the train crested the lift hill they yelled mathew's name. I really love how they made Serengeti Express goes under Cobra's Curse. It runs under and nearly parallel to Cobra's MCBR. I am looking forward to experiencing this roller coaster. Falcon's Fury is simply the best drop tower that I personally have ridden. I rode twice in a row on Sunday. (17 total rides.) Walk on for the first ride, then one cycle wait for the second ride. SheiKra was just as smooth as it was when it opened in 2005. Was quite tired walking up all those stairs...LOL USUALLY when I go, the line is down the stairs. We had a 3 train wait for the front row. We had first time SheiKra riders, and did not want to subject them to the powerful thrust of airtime in the back, otherwise it would have been a walk on. Took a nostalgic trip back in time. Took a spin on my first roller coaster. Scorpion. Was a lot smoother this time. Both trains were at the ride. One was on the side track obviously. Sand Serpent was fun as usual. Got 2 rides on my baby! Kumba is simply amazing. It was a walk on as well. My family waited for the front row. I rode, then went around and rode the same train as them for my second ride. The cobra roll has developed a bump on the up side, and at the same spot on the down side. I forgive her though. Hands up and through the trees at 60 mph. It's time for them to trim trees at Kumba. Tried to go get a couple more rides on Kumba before we headed to the front of the park, but as we got there, it was E-Stopped so they could search for someone's phone. Busch seriously needs do what we do at Banshee. "We will turn it in at Lost n Found at the end of the night if we find it at all." Then the ride faulted after they restarted it. After 20 minutes, we headed to Timbuktopia. Timbuktu rolls of the tongue better than Pantopia. We bought the All Day Dining wristband, as usual. Immediately we noticed a change. There is a bar code now. The wrist bands are scanned at the registers. The other change is you may only eat one entree every hour. However, you can get unlimited drinks and sides every time you go through the line. We had Dessert Grill. It is more of a food court type setting with Italian, Chinese, American, etc. 5 choices I think. Then we ate at Crown Colony. We always sit outside on the deck to watch the animals. Such a great view of the Serengeti. Bengal Bistro was awesome as usual. I got the Ham sandwich this time. That was amazing. Then we finished the day with the Zambea Smokehouse. I got the Brisket Platter. so awesome. We did not take part in the Food and Wine Festival, but I am sure it was amazing. The food smelled amazing. Wish I had taken a little extra cash with me. In 2014 we lost our grandmother on this side of the family, and we went to Busch the following week. My Grandmother's favorite ride IS Congo River Rapids. She would ride it, but she got more pleasure from shooting us with the water cannons. She had it down! She could get us all soaked! On that trip, we made it all the way to the cave nearly completely dry. Then the 3 of us who went on that trip, got completely soaked under the waterfall. Like I said. Busch Gardens is OUR place. That's where we go. Thanks for reading.
  2. If you are in the front few rows of Diamondback, that trim brake causes some nice ejector air.
  3. Just because it has trims does not mean they will be used. Banshee had trims and they were never used. They were removed and installed on Diamondback's MCBR
  4. There were 2 versions of that scene. I always though how the heck does a shark explode by being impaled?
  5. All my "firsts" happened at Busch Gardens Tampa. That is why that park is so special to me. In order: Scorpion Python Kumba Montu Sand Serpent SheiKra So my first B&M was Kumba. Check out those plates... (and that Kings Island tan line on my left leg.)....LOL I did not list Gwazi because my first wooden coaster was Beast at Kings Island.
  6. Congrats! I will be returning to Kings Island for my 3rd season on Banshee! Original Banshee Crew representing!
  7. No thanks! I only rode the one at Kings Island because I lost a bet with the Banshee crew... LOL
  8. I just bought an NES Retro that plays original NES games. I currently am playing my all time favorite arcade game with it....
  9. I really can not wait for this coaster. It will be an awesome milestone for me. B&M's 100th coaster will be my 200th.
  10. The only new ride I was able to ride was Woodstock Gliders at Kings Island. I learned the art of snapping, and am quite good at it... lol I also got to operate it during the 2015 season.
  11. Ooops. I withdraw my statement... LOL Have not ridden a coaster with a name starting with "Q"
  12. Always marathon my favorite coasters at which ever park I am visiting. My personal best was the day I rode Diamondback 45 times. That good ole single rider line came in handy when they had it. I didn't intend it as a marathon, but I rode Falcons Fury at BGT 15 times in a row with a walk on.
  13. Banshee lift hill and surprisingly the brake run. "There's a shoe on the blue thing."
  14. I have to say that while I am not really a fan of Brave. (Seen it once, don't care to see it again) I did like the big reveal at the end. The person who killed her father. Sunday can not come soon enough! I think I died a little at the end of episode 8. *sigh* Is it warm in here?
  15. BUMP.. I am loving this season so far. I am also very pleased with the Once version of Merida. Merida in BRAVE annoyed me. Once Merida is more mature than the one in the movie. AND... They hired a Scottish actress for the part. That hair is just amazing also. I think Killian will be the one who pulls Excalibur from the stone, not Rumple. They are already hinting to it like the writers on this show tend to do. Merida is in the woods with Rumple, and says "all a man needs is one good hand." Also, they are casting a male and a female for upcoming episodes. The description is for a “dashing, strapping young man” who is “single-minded in his pursuit of his destiny: to be the greatest hero who ever lived” and a “plucky, 18-year-old female adventurer with a sly sense of humor and a tough, no-nonsense spirit.” Hercules and Meg perhaps?
  16. The one skeleton bent over is Miley Cyrus and the one with the striped suit is Robin Thicke.
  17. I finally got around to watching the new episode. I liked it, except for the memory wipe, AGAIN. I liked how they introduced Merida to the show. Made me glad I watched Brave last week. I would not have any idea what she was talking about when she made the bear reference or having dealt with witches before. Now the burning question is, what the F happened in Camelot??
  18. Riding, I prefer the newer restraints. Operating is a different story. The Gen-II B&M trains like Banshee must have all restraints raised and then lowered every time the train pulls into the station. The Gen-I B&M trains such as Montu and Raptor, do not require the restraints to open at all. So you can imagine every time a Gen-II train comes in, all 32 seats have to be opened and then closed even if there is no one sitting there before that train can leave the station again.
  19. Just a note: If you work at the park, please be careful of what you say and how you say it. Park officials, managers and supervisors lurk in these forums. (Had conversations with some about things posted on here.) I work in the park, which is why I rarely post in here anymore. I will say as an enthusiast, that I hope they get rid of the bins at the other roller coasters. Everything I need fits into a cargo pocket. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't go in the park with me. If a ride host asks or instructs you to do something..... There is probably a reason for the request. (Such as flip flops on Diamondback)
  20. I don't think she is going to be in Storybrooke. I think her story will take place in the Enchanted Forest. Like a supporting character, not a main story arc. Kind of like Mulan. The main focus this season I think will be Dark Swan.
  21. You are my new best friend! BUT, I will have to watch it the following day because I buy it on Amazon. Did you see that a certain red headed Princess will be added this season? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDJ1rrLvBEg ... and I just realized that I have not seen Brave, so I just added it to my DVD queue on Netflix... LOL
