  1. Received these today from one of my mermaids.
  2. Well, I for one hope they fix the awful problem with the restraints tightening. It is just a HUGE inconvenience for a SAFETY system to be SAFE.
  3. Glad to see that there are artists that still have a backbone, and don't let a film or stupid fans who see the film dictate whether or not they perform at a venue.
  4. Really? I would say that with the use of earth movers, the topography is not a concern if they decide to build another dark ride.
  5. I just wanted to re-post that I am taking part in the Scream For a Kid Again night ride event, and would appreciate any donations. http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/JesseCaldwell/screamforakidagain
  6. They put the crown on today. From a friends Facebook page.
  7. The tower itself will be 335 ft tall. The gondola will not reach 335 ft. Kind of like how the Windseeker towers are 301 ft tall, however the swings are not at 301ft.
  8. The Beast runs the same as it did prior to the magnetic trims. It is just more sudden and you actually feel the train slowing down more. The skid brakes worked like the water splash on Griffon, SheiKra, Diamondback, etc. It slowed the train down, but it was so gradual that you didn't notice. Take the water out and put a magnetic trim brake set 20% slower than entry on any of those coasters with a water brake, you will feel it. If you want to judge how fast you are going on The Beast, sit in row 7. (Front of 3rd car) as the train starts up the second lift, watch the first landing on your right. For the train to be going around 60-65 mph the second car must make it to that landing before it engages the chain. I have seen the 3rd car reach that landing. It happens later in the day when the coaster has had time to "warm up".
  9. You guys can all go ride the Intamins, and I will ride the B&M which is 100% more likely to STAY running than the Intamin.
  10. "We don't want to make the most cars, we want to make the best cars." - Henry Ford
  11. I went on the 13th and was in shorts. I took a sweat shirt in just in case, but for the most part, it was nice.
  12. Look into the ALL DAY DINING DEAL. It is definitely worth the price. Go to Cheetah Hunt first, then Montu. Being the first two things people see on the trams, that is where they go. After your rides on CH and Montu, head up the to Congo. Get yourself MULTIPLE walk on or re-rides on KUMBA. Then head to SheiKra. Be sure to grab a park map. The back side has show information. The shows in the Desert Grill are amazing. Get in the food line 30 minutes prior to the show or you will be standing in line for food and miss the show.
  13. By the same logic, Arrow and Vekoma must be unreliable too because Ninja and X2 had chain breaking issues. All coaster have chain break issues that do not take nearly as long to fix as it has taken these rides to be fixed. STR is still closed until further notice. I think a boat rolling backward down the LIFT hill, and having to send a WHOLE motor away for repair is not the same as a chain break. One would expect the vehicle to stop on the lift, not roll backward and flip.
  14. Nice! Is this the first B&M that runs 3 trains without a MCBR? Assuming tatsu's can be considered one for the effect an so does leviathan's extended brake run. Leviathan
  15. The tail is very tight on the legs. It does fill with water, and while my tails are around 45 pounds when dry, they are nearly weightless in the water.
  16. I just wanted to post about my business. Check out my Facebook page: Mermaid Creations LLC I've got some awesome Facebook only sales going on. (Have to pay for my ClubTPR membership renewal somehow!) At Mermaid Creations LLC, we offer affordable, high quality, custom Silicone Mermaid Tails. Our tails are made from professional grade, skin safe, Dragon Skin Silicone. Dragon Skin Silicone is the same silicone used in movies, TV shows, stage productions, and even hospitals use it for prosthetic limbs. Me wearing "The Beast" Selfie with a custoMER Here she is at a birthday party in her tail. One of my favorite shots from a custoMER Two of my creations. My very first and favorite creation! I have a very strong connection with these two ladies. My favorite part of being in this business! Look at those smiles! This business pays my bills and for all of my theme park related stuff. I have also gotten to meet so many wonderful and talented people by attending Mermaid Conventions and gatherings. I am on the far left next to the man with the beard. That man is Thom Shouse. He is responsible for giving Madison her tail: Which is on display at Planet Hollywood at Walt Disney World Orlando, (See, I made this post somewhat theme park related!) I laterally gasped out loud when I got to the top of the stairs and seen it.
  17. Rides with extensive downtime in 2013: Intamin: B&M: Exhibit A. Shoot the Rapids Exhibit A: Exhibit B. I:305 Exhibit B: Exhibit C. El Toro Exhibit C:
  18. I found myself readying the choices, and thinking I related to each of them. I am all about every aspect of the ride. So I checked D. All of the Above. Final Answer.
  19. Gatekeeper is the only wing coaster I have experienced that actually bounces in the back. X Flight and Wild Eagle are glass smooth, STILL. I don't know what is with Cedar Point and their B&M's. B&M's should run like BGT's, SWO, or IOA's. All smooth, and all very well maintained. BGT can DEFINITELY pull off any coaster design. Look what they did with Cheetah Hunt. It isn't really intense, but is one heck of an experience. I enjoy it much better than Maverick.
  20. I think a wing coaster at BGW would work better with the terrain than one at BGT. Although, BGT certainly is NOT afraid to dig. I think BGT could pull off a nice wing coaster. For me, it is not about forces all the time. Rerideablilty is number 1 for me. At Media Day, I rode Gatekeeper 30 times. On opening night of Halloweekends, I rode it once for our ERT. It had developed a bounce. KUMBA does not ride as rough at Gatekeeper.
  21. Already FIVE years? Geez! Time past really fast! Yeah but wouldn't an invert have more support pieces? I don't think it's a big deal for B&M as their support design is always very simple. When it comes to other manufacturers, support pieces might slow down the construction for being complicated. For example, Volcano: the Blast, Spanish Tornado and Finnish Tornado. Agreed. Also, you have to make up the difference in height from Banshee to Diamondback. Diamondback's tallest support probably uses more steel than Banshee's tallest support. And Diamondback with 6 hills all over 100ft will use more steel supports than Banshee as well. Not to mention 29 and a half more sections of track to be hung. (Referring to Banshee TEENY TINY section right at the bottom of the lift hill after you turn up.)
  22. Banshee only had 100 sections of track to hang. Diamondback had 129 sections of track to hang.
  23. I wish I had read reviews on cruisecritic.com prior to booking the cruise. As soon as my husband puts the video of the two fish on Youtube, I will post it here. It really was the best part of the entire trip.
  24. No one seems to care about the park that Tilikum was at prior to Sea World. It is Sea World this, Sea World that. He was housed in a two car garage sized tank with 2 other orcas. This whole thing is just complete horse manure. I personally would rather Tilikum be kept at Sea World, than be released and exposed to the nasty ocean water. Let alone show up and eat someone.
