  1. Probably due to the lift going right through the middle of it. I doubt that is it. There is plenty of room.
  2. Wow. I can not seem to convince the children on "another" forum that the loop is spread wider. They just argue that is it the same and that the angle of the camera make it look wider. As one pointed out, you can indeed tell the difference based on the support that the entrance and exit share.
  3. They do run 3. Kumba very rarely. Montu will run 3 before Kumba. The number of trains they run depend on the daily attendance projections. Once again, other parks need to take notes!
  4. Sometimes the trims don't grab. When they do, that just means you are going faster than you should be. That is how I look at it. I kind of like the MCBR slowing the train down. The end of the ride is great as it lulls you in to a sense of "we're winding down, heading back to the station." Then BOOM! Corkscrew finale into the brake run! Either way, whatever they do with those coasters is working. They are as smooth as the day they opened. Montu especially. There is not a bump, shudder, or "oops" moment anywhere on that coaster.
  5. Two things I would like to point out that make Kumba that much more awesome. 1. the ground section between the zero g and cobra roll Kumba is one of the most photogenic coasters! As proven in this photo that I took in 2012. (This is the full size of my avatar.) 2. at the end of the video. NO LINE! Kumba is a capacity whore!
  6. New photos of myself. MERNADO! A storm blew in as they were filming us at the pool when someone shouted "MERNADO!"
  7. That was the most shocking announcement. They only gave everyone a month to ride it before it closed. It was like pulling teeth to get the time off to get there on closing weekend. Fortunately, I was able to ride it about 6 times over the course of 2 days. Universal was dead on Saturday December 31, 2011.
  8. I understand everyone has their opinions, and expectations of parks, but I disagree with a few of your statements. Banshee is Montu's little sister. (Not about size, but about age.) While they do insist that you use a locker, they do have cubbie bins for hats and glasses. Montu was originally planned to be an indoor coaster built inside a pyramid before B&M was contracted for the final design. Actually, Busch Gardens called and want's their B&M back. Please refrain from dissing Kumba, that is all I am going to say. You should have got the All Day Dining Deal. NEVER EAT AT ZAGORA!! The food throughout the park is amazing! You should have tried this: Alfredo with meatballs, mac n cheese, and fruit punch! Had this twice in one day! "He dissed Kumba again." Kumba is far from vanilla! It is certainly lightyears away from, ugh, can't say it. "Plain". ** clutches chest ** Diving through the Congo jungle is not enough theme on Kumba? Kumba is a perfect example of what YOU ACTUALLY DO when you design, build, and maintain a roller coaster. Other parks need to take notes from Kumba. 20 years old, and still rides like it did in 1993. Like a dream! Okay, I am done... ** Walks away mumbling to self **
  9. For me the two coasters with the most insane airtime are Voyage and Skyrush. I don't think I could handle much more on Voyage. Skyrush needs just a little more.
  10. Wild Eagle certainly is NOT the loudest.
  11. No, they have not. The track remains the same as the last photo posted by Zack.
  12. I was Theodora from Oz the Great and Powerful Ultimately, I went without the nose as I did not have the proper adhesive for silicone. I made the costume by buying things and piecing them together. The corset, hat, gloves, leggings, and boots were bought. I bought and added fabric to the bottom of the corset, and I made the nose. The shoulder sleeves were a skirt that came with the corset. I cut it in half and turned it into a pair of sleeve. Nails and ring Thanks to the use of Discover Rewards, I think I spent a total of $50 to $60 out of pocket on this entire costume.
  13. I am at 188 total coasters. 149 Steel and 39 wood. 1. Kiddie Coaster @ Fantasy Farm First looping coaster - Scorpion @ BGT First woodie - Beast @ KI First B&M - Kumba @ BGT 100. Patriot @ WOF 100th Steel coaster X Flight @ SFGAm 125th coaster X Flight @ SFGAm (Due to strategic riding of the coasters at Six Flags, I managed to get 100 and 125 at the same time, same coaster!) 150th steel coaster will be Banshee! She will also be B&M number 42.
  14. Is it redundant for a park to have 2 or more wooden coasters?
  15. Hulk seems to be a bit iffy. I rarely seen Hulk down for extended periods of maintenance like BGT does for it's rides. Perhaps the rough rides were the trains. I have only ridden two of the ,five sitdown style coasters from B&M, Hulk and Kumba. Kumba was my first B&M and first large coaster. I believe it is the only coaster that I have ridden more than Diamondback (1,150 on DB) I can easily stay on Kumba without getting off. It is such a great ride, and still packs a punch!
  16. .. and my costume: Ladies of the forums, don't be jealous!
  17. Compare Disney's extensive theming to Cedar Fairs extensive theming?
  18. Been a while since I have updated this, but I have gotten to work on it a little. Wild Maus now has queue, exit stairs, entrance, photo booth, lighting and perimeter fencing. The main entrance area is taking shape: A new restaurant and restroom have been constructed: Little Beast still undergoing it's paint transformation. Testing has begun in the meantime: The train station has received platform extensions to accommodate up to 4 cars, and a tunnel was added:
  19. It seems like a good idea at the time? Me in front in my Club TPR shirt with coaster hair, and moobs on Gatekeeper Media Day! Hands up is a freeing and exhilarating experience for me. My first hands free ride was on Kumba in 1994. It was my fourth ride on the coaster, and when it got to the top, I put my hands up. I only held on during the zero g roll, and now I am hands up all the way!
  20. and usually has the longest line! You can easily walk around the Stanleyville Theater and ride Tidal Wave with little to no wait, even on a busy day.
  21. Well, I want the other 51 B&M's (Have 43 B&M credits already) The main coasters I really want to ride worthy of making a "Coaster Bucket List" are: Dragon Khan Shambala Steel Dragon 2000
  22. No amount of photos can do this coaster justice. Banshee's first drop looks like it is going to be amazing!
  23. It basically looked like the inside of an aircraft carrier. I have only ridden it once where they were using those queues under there. That was in 1996.
  24. I was there tonight. All the "guts" if you will, are being removed from the queue beneath the station.
