I'll gladly join next year. Somehow missed the league this year. I'm involved in 2 other leagues (1 paid, 1 fun), so maybe adding a second "fun" league would be a good thing.

I'll bite here. More and more are cutting the cable cord, which will hurt ratings on Monday and Thursdays (as those games are on cable). As for Sundays, the people I know who have cut the cord don't watch anything live most of the time. Thus that leads to the ratings drop on Sundays. There's an argument that the traditional Nielsen ratings need some sort of update. Too many people are watching on alternative devices rather than TV's. It started with DVR's, but has only gotten progressively worse since the advent of "second-screens" and other ways to stream (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Channel-Specific Apps, etc). It's important to note that even though the NFL's ratings are dropping, they are still head and shoulders above all other pro sports leagues.

What the Fallon ride does is provide a simple opportunity to re-theme the ride for any style of comedy show. Fallon, Colbert, Stewart, etc. There can also be seasonal overlays with this. It's something that people will ride once, and then not again unless there's significant change. Of course, this could end up being an amazing ride that we never paid much attention to, but there's a small, small chance of that.

Double Post. Sorry about that.

Here's a link to a listing of the 2016 Cubs contracts: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/186IV6_jKrs2mIUHX3gKnBoL8M65dvzQbdmGi9DwAC8I/pubhtml. It's a Google Docs Spreadsheet from https://www.baseballprospectus.com/compensation/cots/national-league-central/chicago-cubs/ I can't agree with this more. The team has 6 starters under the age of 24, that's just ridiculous. I'm a Mets fan, and I sure believe that the Cubs learned a lot following last years NLCS.

Shanghai Disney Resort Discussion Thread
bbomser replied to Dr Freeze's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey all, I have a strange request. Is there anyone who is going to Shanghai Disney in the near future? A friend of mine is a Disney Design Group artist, and designed a Snow White doll that is only being released in Shanghai. If anyone is going to Shanghai Disney soon, please send me a PM. Thanks, Brian Here is a photo of the doll -
I'm a few days late to the party, but this thread is absolutely hilarious. ALl of this with the knowledge that Robb and I have talked about our mutual disdain for other people. Truly hilarious. If I'm ever feeling down about myself, I just remember that people like this exist. Makes me feel better about myself (but worried for humanity ) As for the original post, try to ignore as much as you can. There will always be haters who are jealous of your success. I'm a firm believer in karma, and it'll get them eventually. Take the high road and be the better man.

In all seriousness, it would be quintessential Mel Brooks to die on April 1... Let's just hope that doesn't happen for a few years!

Interesting! Sad that things will be close when we go visit, but that's part of the whole experience! As for the new hotel, I'll see what photos I can snag when we stay at Sequoia Lodge in 2 months. And Bill, I hope we enjoy Sequoia Lodge as much as you and your partner did! -
FWIW Malcolm Smith (SEA) was the MVP in 2014. Last year Brady was the MVP and it was Edelman and Butler that went. So who knows what the deciding factors are. Most likely it's a combination of game performance, career performance, popularity and then "brand factor" (how much the player fits the Disney Brand) - <-- My own attribute.
-
^ and ^^ it just depends on where the Super Bowl is and it's proximity to either park for logistical reasons. Last year the SB was in Phoenix, and Malcolm Butler and Julian Edelman went to DL. Next year's SB LI is in Texas (Houston, NRG Stadium). Anyone want to place a bet on which park a player from the winning team will go to? After next year it's Minnesota in 2018 (Again a toss-up), and then 2019 and 2020 will be decided later this year, but all of the finalists are in the Southeast (Atlanta, New Orleans, Miami, Tampa).

Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread

Huh? Interesting. When we go we'll be flying in from Italy, so I might see if we find a good wine or liquor to bring a bottle along (in our checked luggage of course). Good to know though! -
Didn't realize we had that many "Members of the Tribe" on here! Mazel Tov!

When you get the pass (in-person), you'll get a hard ticket (RFID Enabled, similar to Daily Tickets). That ticket will be used for Merchandise Discounts, Free Parking, and most anything other than Park Entry and FP+. I'll also add that I found this on the FAQ (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/passholders/magic-band-customization/): "Once you link your Annual Pass to your Disney account, you can start making FastPass+ selections—you do not need to visit Walt Disney World Resort or wait to receive your MagicBand." So just make sure you purchase the pass through your MDX (or My Disney Experience, or MyMagic+, all the same thing) account, and you should be able to make FP+ selections. I would assume that Issuance means when you first go to the ticket booth and get the actual pass (Hard Card). That's at least my thought on it. But again, I've never bought a pass online. Plus, who knows what issuance means since you can book FP+ once you buy the MagicBand. If you book FP+ for a day, but don't receive your ticket (or go) until after that day, not only is that stupid, but did you screw yourself out of a few days, or just someone else from those FP+'s? Best advice may to be to call them and ask for Passholder Services.

Not sure about buying the AP online, but I know that you need to redeem it at a ticket booth regardless. EDIT and EDIT AGAIN: I see Robb's post above, and he is right (See my newer post below). Wish I could help you out more about that. I bought my pass before MyMagic+ was implemented and it's always been linked on my account You can buy an AP at the gate, so no problem there. Do you know what level of AP you are going to get? Know that they all include free parking, but you won't be able to get free parking the first time (unless you have another means of getting free parking, Hotel, CM, etc). As you are FL resident, you can use the monthly payment program, where you have a down payment of $112, and then make monthly payments for the remainder. See more info here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/florida-residents/passholder-program/ Any other questions, feel free to ask. I'll try to help out where I can.

Also quite fitting that he died at the age of 69... Some coincidences will never amaze me.

I got a new phone over the holidays, and didn't bother to reinstall the game. Looks like I might do just that on Thursday.
