  1. Wonder how the park is performing this year, I understand that it takes two years to really see a new park/ride's potential but it's definitely not common to see a park adding rides at this rate. As for the Vekoma vs. Intamin thing, I really think that we don't need to worry about Vekoma too much. They are very different now and their coasters are incredibly smooth. Tron might just be the smoothest coaster I've ever been on! Intamin has the most experience building hyper coasters and even the worst of all the Intamin hypers is better than 85% of the coasters out there. On one hand Energylandia is giving Vekoma a huge opportunity to break into a new area, on the other hand this is a decision between a company that has the most experience and the best track record in the hyper coaster market and a company that is new into this competition. I'm curious of how Vekoma would perform if they got the contract because they will definitely go out of their way to make sure everything kicks ass but also an Intamin is an Intamin...
  2. I like them both. Guess it comes down to price tag and capacity then.
  3. It's very easy to break the most inversions record and that's enough to attract GP IMO.
  4. They certainly can do a mine train, Alan Schilke designed Road Runner Express at SFFT.
  5. Since there's a head chopper on the lift and steel coaster having higher friction than wooden coaster, they are probably pushing back the lift for a bit and using a steeper lift. That way the turn above the lift hill won't have to be super slow.
  6. Family coaster market is REALLY competitive and European companies are kind of dominating the market now. Unless RMC can make something really special, like making a signature element such as Intamin/Zierer's drop track, I'm not sure jumping into that market is a good choice. RMC still isn't a huge company that has plenty of money to invest in establishing a new product line. Somewhere down the road, they'all have to expand their product line more but now they are doing fine.
  7. If I'm not wrong, the only 50 seat Gyro Swings are at Everland and Happy Valley Shanghai.
  8. Why are people turning into petty little bitches? I know it's probably wrong to say but if something is not offensive, it's not edgy enough.
  9. ^But the real concerning thing is, no matter how dumb you think the control system is, it is still smarter then the ENGINEERS! I think with a control system like what you described, it is likely to get the "ghost train" error more frequently so it will take a huge amount of time to work everything out.
  10. $21.1 million isn't bad for a coaster like this, Blackpool got a great deal.
  11. Nice layout, the second half is definitely more intense then the first half and I love that little outward airtime hill towards the end.
  12. Jeez why don't everyone just camp outside of Disneyland and yell "Shut Down Splash Mountain" then?
  13. I would take an obvious improvement in overall experience of guests over a major coaster. I love RMC, Intamin, Gerstlauer just like every other enthusiast but an area re-theme, improvement in park infrastructures, better queue line design, area music, healthier and better food options etc are equally appreciated.
  14. To be honest, I'm so surprised Kanonen clones isn't everywhere yet.
  15. I know Zamperla has the reputation of building the best frisbee type ride but that's because not enough people have been on an Intamin Gyro Swing. Liseberg is making the right choice! As for a new dive machine, k.
  16. ^I opened the airline page and the low price instantly made my day so much better.
  17. It's good to get to know what exactly happened. And holy hell that looks like a painful crash! I'm impressed by the Gerstlauer train engineering team that the whole train didn't fall apart. It could've been way worse.
