^The idea of compressed air launch system has been there before Alan Schilke started to design coasters. Yes he is currently one of the best designers but don't forget about other great designers. Not sure how polyurethane wheels would perform on Dodonpa's track though, the tires they've been using have huge friction that slows down the train a lot. If they extend the track, something's gotta be done with the wheels I think.

^Huh? Do you mind sharing that email? I'm asking because it has a couple things mixed up. The dark ride setup (I assume you mean that white thing, and not the black coaster track), was originally meant for the Efteling. However, the thing they are building right now is a trackless ride. I believe the manufacturer is ETF Ride System, but I'm not sure on that.

According to an email from LinkedIn, this dark ride is for Efteling's new attraction called Symbolica, it is to celebrate Efteling's 65th anniversary and it is Efteling's biggest investment ever.

Japanese/French Raptor's brake run snap was fixed after B&M realized how they ended a great ride in a painful way at the very last second.

Yeah maybe if SFMM had some TPR shirts, Colossus construction site wouldn't have caught on fire.

It still amaze me how all the TOGO coasters in japan are very smooth for the decade it was built but Manhattan Express can be so bad.

Since the center of gravity is between the two trains, it will cost a lot of energy to start and slow down the train. Also it will give you lots of weird force when you're riding it like accelerating upwards and hanging forward.

TPR Nolimits Contest: Project DodonpaPA

Simply based on the wheels of the prototype coaster, I don't think the smaller wheels with steering mechanism can be running wheels. Therefore it can't be a flying coaster.

I hope they leave that launch alone, I don't think I've experienced another like it and think it may be the sole reason i tolerate return visits to Fuji-Q. From what I've seen on other TR's (anyone else elaborate, I haven't been on them) the new versions in China don't have quite the same punch to them. The new ones are still really intense. The initial kick is definitely more crazy than Xcelerator, TTD and Zaturn. But it is still not Dodonpa as the train is so much larger and heavier.

Curious how the roller coasters are handling extreme weather, especially the SkyLoop. If it is safe and soundthen it is sure some impressive structural engineering.

Change to polyurethane wheels, make the tower a lot higher and new magnetic brakes.

So happy to see Gerstlauer doing triple launch now! It's a great upgrade for the park plus the Infinity Coaster trains are the most comfortable train I've been on.
