Ride You Felt Was Unsafe?
gerstlaueringvar replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Recently: Chuanlord's spinner. That thing clearly did not get any maintenance since the day it opened. The upstop wheels have nearly 2 inches gap between them and the track. Before my car went up the lift, the chain pulled the car real hard that the car jumped up and had a very painful landing on the lift hill. Then the chain did not catch the car properly, the car hit into the anti-roll back abruptly then the chain caught the car again. Now I think I understood what an airplane crash feels like. Cyclops is also a coaster that I feel unsafe. The buzz bar+Mt.Olympus combination is already scary enough, cyclops also has three very intense drops. Hades360. The way that the park fix the Timberliners, the park started our ERT without any testing, the lap bar did not lock properly before the train dispatched. Not to mention my physical and mental safety were taking a huge risk during the ride. -

^ Are you testing Götterflug's limit? Can Gerstlauer's Sky Flyer do the same? -

Wow! Amazing TR! Bakken looks much better than I thought (Because I only did research about Tornado ) Just determined to join the 2016 Europe+Scandi tour! -
Watched the 1997 Starship Troopers just now. There were at least three times that I wanted to throw up. That huge intelligent bug really is disgusting.

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Look forward to hear from rider's review about Banshee. From the POV, OzIriz and GateKeeper don't look as forceless as they actually are so review could give a better judgement. -

Great pictures! Only ridden Happy valley Shanghai's Mega-Lite and I think this looks not as intense as the Intamin version (of course). One thing that we have to know is that Mack's seats are much higher than Intamin's seats so even if the shape and size of the bunny hops are the same and the train travels at the same speed, Intamin's version still feels more intense. As far as the Mega-Lite like rides for US, I think rides like Lightning Run and the original Mega-Lite would more likely to happen. Original and creative layout always win. -
Weird Chinese Coasters
gerstlaueringvar replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I get terrified a lot as well, especially that Sidewinder. Definitely the worst roller coaster element in the roller coaster history IMO. Now, any idea what we need to name that Sidewinder? I would like to call it EncephalemiaWinder. -

I'm very curious about the layout of Colossus and Revolution. From the concept art, seems like the entrance is under Colossus. -

Could anyone get some close up photos of the roller coaster history show board? Doing some reading about it would be really fun. -

The "Pleasant/Unpleasant Surprise" Thread

Pleasant: the knock-off Loop and Screw at Chuanlord Holiday Manor. That ride is relatively smooth compare with the other knock-off Loop and Screw. The size of the loops are very small and the shape of them looks somewhat like Anton's loop. I greyed out started from the first half of the second loop! I only greyed out at Titan's upwards helix before. The first drop also offers some very strong ejector if you are at the back seat. -
Weird Chinese Coasters
gerstlaueringvar replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There's an unopened coaster at Carde Happy World built by Hebei Zhongye Metallurgical Equipment Manufacturing Co.,Ltd, the jointing work on the loop hasn't been complete yet, part of the support structure actually connects with the track and the bolts that connects the supports and the footers started to rust!!! Thank god this coaster was prohibited from opening a couple of days back. RCDB Seriously? Are you kidding me!?!? Undone jointing work. Rusted bolts The whole coaster. Also among the coasters with the ugliest color scheme. -
Weird Chinese Coasters

I just have to bump up this thread!!! I can't stop laughing while I saw these two picture. This coaster valleys before the side winder so the manufacturer did some modification lately. This is REAL! RCDB hasn't been updated yet. Thoughts? RCDB Before modification After modification. The whole ride
