  1. What kind of restraint system does Chiapas use?
  2. I don't see the need of a wing coaster. When they get smooth, they are boring; when they get intense, they are bouncy. Or if you are unlucky, both boring and bouncy! There are plenty of great choices in the market. Premier launch coaster, Mack launch coaster, Gerstlauer Euro Fighter with longer trains, RMC woodie, Change Hyper GTX, Maurer X-Train, etc. They can have very high capacity just like B&M wing coasters if not located at SFMM.
  3. Still can't believe I am hearing all these reviews about a new B&M coaster! Banshee must be a very stand out ride.
  4. Haven't seen a great layout like this for quite a long time, great job Mack!
  5. How about The Bat? (Still need to get used to this name) is it getting smoother? Did the trains get significant improvements?
  6. Every year seeing the result of MH make me realize how bad I need more TPR tours to get on more awesome coasters. 2014 will be a great year for steel coasters, can't wait to see where Helix, Medusa, Lightning Run, Banshee, Thunderbolt, Impulse, Sky Scream, Abyss, FCE, Alpina Blitz, Sky Scream, Arthur will end up at next year. I personally think FOTR aka Parrot Coaster deserves somewhere around 60, the first half really is surprisingly forceful.
  7. After watching Banshee's POV, I feel the transitions on this one is pricele$$.
  8. About the scream, I feel sorry for the ride ops.
  9. The new Baby Daddy... I'm speechless.
  10. Thanks for the video! That Zero G Roll looks faster than I expected. I think Banshee goes much faster on the rider camera video. Cameron, didn't you feel cold wearing shorts?
  11. Holy crap! Some of the transitions must be really intense! Looks like a top 10 material.
  12. So the old school B&M forcefulness is coming back?
  13. Yes, they are. If you would like to see an example of why, watch the TPR video. Both the airtime on the big launch and the slow inversion with hangtime make it much more likely that things could fall out of your hand or pocket than on medusa, where there is no hang time and little airtime. Medusa's inversions mostly have positive Gs which will keep things down rather than throw them out unless that something is in your hand and you drop it. I agree. Superman is much more forceful than Medusa. I once rode Medusa and the guy in front of us had his phone fall out of his pocket on the wheel cover. It went through the entire ride and didn't fall off! I don't think it would have even lasted the first launch on Superman. How can a phone stay on this thing? Are you sure?
  14. ^ the sounds of the LSM launches are awesome! There are similar light issues on Gatekeeper as well, might be some minor issues. About the sound of the ride, I guess it's the microphone being too sensitive. The volume of the count down on Powder Keg is actually very low, but it sounds pretty loud on all the POV's I've watched. I guess it's the similar issue.
  15. Russia has PAX, which I think is the most insane coaster company in the world... Why did they need a TOGO anyway? Russia building a Japanese coaster is a really rare thing, just like North Korea building an American coaster.
  16. Very nice to see some 35 years old Anton goodness holding their spots at top 100. About the last coasters, seems like Hopkins loopers are getting a lot of haters. 322 for Desert Storm, 349 for Dragon and 350 for Patriot. Texas Tornado got 240 which is still pretty bad. If there are enough voters, Mysterious Island's Screaming Squirrel could be the worst roller coaster in the world. I put it at my dead last this year.
  17. 1. Basically everything Alan Schilke has done. 2. Intamin Hydraulic Launch system. 3. Euro Fighter. 4. Continuous launch system (Cheetah Hunt, Manta, Helix) 5. Free fall coasters (TH13TEEN, Verbolten, Polar X-plorer) 6. Mega-Lite 7. New restraint shapes (Storm Runner's, Bluefire's, Jet Rescue, DDD, MK-1212, NTaG, SkyRush's, X-Car, Timberliners etc) 8. Water slides innovations (Aqua loop, Tornado, LSM water coasters etc) 9. New generation log flume (Chiapas) 10. Q-Bots 11. Magnetic anti-rollback (Smiler) 12. TOGO leaving the world, no more RCCA coasters, B&M stepping into family coaster or kiddie coaster market since 2004.
  18. Powder Keg definitely counts! The second hill is actually more like a double up, the turns before the old premier track section are all on a pretty steel slope.
  19. If Chimelong Paradise's Dive Coaster didn't get a retrack or some new trains, there's no way it can be at #43! That ride is unbearably rough, even worse than 10 Inversion Coaster. There must be some fan boys who rode at the middle seat of the front row on a very great day. Has Walibi Holland's Goliath ever entered top 10? How is it compared to GeForce and Bizarro?
  20. When I posted about Mitch Hawker last night, here's a comment made by an "enthusiast".
  21. Wow! That's really fast! Also very loud at the same time. Maybe the loud noise is just a temporary wheels issue.
  22. Outlaw Run and Powder Keg. Both are amazing terrain coasters.
